I had one of these in 1982 - same colour and year. I'd already passed my test on a Suzuki GT250 - happy days - and had a BSA A10 650. I couldn't refuse the little Honda as it was offered to me for ten quid. Inexplicably the previous owner had dropped the business-end of a Biro through the plug hole and then started it. It vapourised and coated the exhaust valve with tiny brass beads stopping it from closing. A quick valve grind and it was good as new. I've had loads of bikes since, and am lucky enough to have some classic 70s Guzzis now, but I think the little CG was one of the best bikes I ever owned. Mine would do an indicated 70 and would return 150mpg if ridden carefully (obviously not at 70!). It was just brilliant fun, perfect for buzzing round the lanes just like you're doing, love to get another one. Thanks for sharing.
Great little bike with massive crankshaft bearings, which is why they do so well when being ridden hard. Hate to rain on your parade, but mind what you are doing. Two of my mates have been killed in the last five years thrashing along country lanes like you. It only takes some half-wit to pull out on you from one of those entrances or road sides and you are either a paraplegic, a cabbage or are in a box at the crematorium.
Great to see one of the early 6-volt CGs being thrashed :D Some really nice views on your ride home... wish I had that on my 31-yr old Yamaha YB100 in Manchester :( These tiddlers like being worked hard don't they? Mine's 10 years older than me and regularly sees 55mph+ on speedo :)

neraru 55mph is cruising speed for a 125....thats not thrashing it. Thrashing it is constantly maxing out the revs.

Cg125
whats the max speed
+Mike Depends on which way the wind is blowing. On level ground with a tail wind you get 70mph, a head wind 60mph, and a neutral wind you get 65mph.
