- I picked up this broken Hampton Bay Adirondack chair that was left out for the trash recently. The trash haulers would not take it and there were no takers (except me of course!). Follow along as I make a repair that puts this nice chair back in service.
I hope you like the video.
Very nice Mr. Bill! There ain't nothing better than making something usable again. Those chairs can be quite expensive.
Thanks George! It is a very comfortable chair - I was surprised at how comfortable it is. Son has a big back yard and has a great place for it. Thanks for the comment.
Brilliant repair! Strong as can be. Looks like it's already found a nice shady spot for someone to relax in 👍
Thanks Mark! I think the new owner will enjoy it!😁
Nice repair Bill. By looking at the finished product one could never tell that it was broken. Good thinking on reinforcing with the steel. 👍
I think the steel will do it's job - time will tell. Glad to hear from you again Frank! Regards, Bill.
Well done! Those sure are great chairs.
Thanks Hiker! Yes, it's kind of heavy for a lawn chair but very comfortable and good quality. Good to hear from you again!
Nice save on this chair bill. I think your fix will hold up fine, nice job!
Thanks David. The chair will not be abused by the new owner so I think it hold up also. Regards, Bill.
HA! A man after my own heart! Gettin FREE stuff and fixing it AND giving it's life back!
Hi Andy! Yes we do like fixing stuff don't we, especially when the cost is zero! 😀
PALABRA that's Spanish for WORD!
You made a very strong repair! 💪
Thanks MagDad. I think it will hold OK - we will see. Thanks for stopping by! Bill.
That turned out really well.
Something about the color makes me biased. This is the best chair in town now!
Thank you! That paint was the closest I had and I did not want to spend any money on fixing this thing as I knew it was going to a new owner who will take care of it and maybe repaint. It was a fun project. I appreciate you watching and commenting! Bill.
@@rollerbald My pleasure.
( I got a folding table and an umbrella out of the Sunday night trash . The table works as is and I'll be using it tomorrow while cleaning the garage.
The Umbrella is a maybe.....but your video inspired me to crack open the tool box and see if it can be saved.)
Nice job, will be very strong. Saved a classic chair.
Thanks Fred - I appreciate the comment! Come back soon, Bill.
I was a little concerned until you put the steel rods in, that should hold up pretty good. I did that to some chair legs a few years ago and they art still holding. Good job sir, have a good week.
Thanks Dale. Time will tell, but this repair was sure better than the previous one! Thanks for watching.
@@rollerbald Yeah that first one wasn't a repair it was only a attempt.
Good solution with nice result sir 👍🏻
Thank you! I appreciate the comment! Regards, Bill.
Nicely done Mr Bill.
Thanks Ivan. It was kind of fun and and the chair is being put to use. Glad to hear from you again! Bill.
....yes, I agree with Ivan! Nicely done!
