Looks fantastic even after “that which we shall not speak of”! It happens to all of us, and that putty knife is still living its best life. Glad to see it has been rehabilitated and has a happy new home!
Have one of those putty knifes that had a broken handle and was rather rusty. Cleaned and polished the blade and made a new handle from walnut. I enjoy restoring old tools. Nice work.
I have screwdriver that look like that! 😂 It still looks far better than what you began with. “That which we shall not speak of”. No one would know it wasn't like that under all that garbage. 😉 Well done! 👍
So many people would probably toss that out when it got all covered in paint and stuff. Nice to recover something like that from being tossed. That was a little mistake and it's like a new knife ready to go now. Hope the road to recovery for you is short and smooth and we'll be sticking around for your next video. Thanks for showing us the mistake, many people would edit it. 👍🏻
Hello again Mike! I like to try to restore things that others would just toss out - it's a sickness I guess. 😁Glad you watched the video and I always appreciate your comments, regards, Bill.
Thanks beerdrinker! I enjoy this kind of stuff - it's fun to get out in the garage and tinker and keeps me from getting underfoot of Mrs. Rollerbald. Win -win!
Mr Bill that little putty knife looks great. That kind of stuff happens to everyone. You'll be back to 100% before you know it and We'll all be tuning in when you put up a video for us. Take care see ya later.
Thanks George! I sure appreciate your support! This recovery is sure taking longer than I had hoped, but at least I'm on an upward trend. The Doc told me it would take a while and i believe him now! 😁
Hi Bill, I hope you continue to recover from your fall! The putty knife came out phenomenal! Those small divots are no big deal especially considering where this one started! Thanks for sharing the mistake....note to self, turn the speed down when polishing plastic with the Dremel!
Thanks @toolscouter! I really appreciate your view and comment. I subscribe to your channel and watch your videos. I hope you will come back here often! Best regards, Bill.
There is a cure for those divots…UV curing modellers putty. Smooth it on over the divots with a soft silicone tipped artists tool, cure with a UV torch (15-30 seconds) and the sand down carefully. It’s what we do for some gap filling. 👍🏾
Thanks for the comment and suggestion Mike! Good information - I will try to learn more about UV curing modellers putty. It's amazing the knowledge we can pick up from commenters. Best regards, Bill.
A great excuse for a new handle of figured walnut or cocobolo or whatever scraps you've been saving because they're too pretty to throw out. See, you intended getting rid of that boring plastic all along.

FUBAR!
Sadly you are correct Anthony! Thanks for watching and commenting, Bill.
Amazon could have delivered a new one in that time and for less than the cost of all those cleaning chemicals 😂
Hi Gregory. If you don't understand why I did this you are missing the point. It's definitely not to save money. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@rollerbald just teasing I actually watched it twice 👍🏻
@@iangregoryhome No offense taken - really glad to have your here - come back often Gregory! regards, Bill.
Sorry to say, you spent more on electricity to record the video than the $2.99 that the putty knife is worth! I guess if you enjoyed, great.
I'll bet you are fun to be around Dana. 😁 Thanks for watching and commenting.
