I wouldn't say that , there are some who are deaf but music is a like a way of communicating to the soul directly. I love the cello as well, the Piano, Violin and Erhu I think these 4 reach the soul in a very direct way
@@davida6883 Why isn't she allowed to say that? If that's her opinion, an opinion most people hold. It's dumb to withhold a lot of your opinion scared of the off chance someone would be hurt by it. Deaf people can defend themselves they don't really need someone to fight for them every time sone says the word 'listening' or anything to do with that. But oh well that's my opinion and you are allowed to hold yours.
thanks for your comments on my vids, it really helps when people are so encouraging! I'd be happy to play 'her other voice' let me know when you get it going!
I love that this cover doesnt sound really like original but you give your vibe...thats whats cover should be...playing other music in your style and you did amazing
Far over the misty mountains cold To dungeons deep and caverns old We must away ere break of day To find our long-forgotten gold The pines were roaring on the height The winds were moaning in the night The fire was red, it flaming spread The trees like torches blazed with light
I played French horn for 7/8 years, all through school. The cello is my favorite string instrument, it shares so many things with the Horn! They are the 2 most powerful instruments to me! They can drive ahead, and be all inspirational, and then turn right around and just Wring the sorrow out of your soul. You are an exceptional cellist!! That was so deceptively simple!! Yet soooo many layers!!! You are amazing!
Oh my God that tone. Depth. Everything I love about cello. Awesome! Edit: a year later, still coming back, and I still cant imagine this being executed more perfectly!
That cover of this song bypassed my ears and played directly to my soul. It made my spine shiver and my eyes close. I can hardly use words to describe how beautiful that was.
So beautiful. I used to be a cello player, but then the outcome of many unfortunate events had made me unable to learn any more from my teacher because I could not see him any more. I am starting to warm back up to the cello, but I feel like I cannot progress. But after I have listened to your music, it makes me feel like I can progress on to doing better things. Your music gives me hope for my musical future. So thank you for filling my heart with joy and giving me something to make me believe in myself once more....thank you.
Never give up! Music is a beautiful and inspiring thing. I started learning the violin but then I lost interest and quit for the summer. I was then involved in a car accident that changed everything. I got back into the violin and being able to express my feelings and emotions through music has helped a lot! Good luck with the cello!
Bethany Lanning I've been playing the cello for five years now. I've gotten into the habit of playing with my eyes closed (and I play by ear the majority of the time, so I don't really have a need to look at my music), because I allow my ears to do the rest. Truth be told, it helped me to connect with my instrument on a deeper level. An instrument, and the music that the musician draws out of the instrument, is meant to be heard. I know it's not the same as being blind, but when you feel comfortable with playing again, remember that your eyes are not the main key to playing; it's your ears that do the work, and it's your heart that draws the emotion out of you and into your playing. Good luck in your musical, and emotional recovery! 😊😊
@Hope Since I started playing, I at some point began noticing that the cello bridge has it's heart cut out and no head and no hands and thought about it and I've wondered if the original design like this was intentional, symbolic of the fact that the player supplies those.. And Bethany, if you are on youtube, you have a plethora of cello teachers, learn from them and also watching famous players play
This is by far my favorite cello song I have watched on TH-cam. It's so beautiful, at one point there were tears in my eyes. I have listened to this for a good three hours while drawing...
My jaw literally dropped when I first saw this video. I didn't know what to do with myself. Thank you so much for this music. I already got He's A Pirate and have been obsessed with playing. Like playing it for a hour, ever. single. day. I'm just about to print the music for this song. Can't wait!
It's very hard to put emotion into music, but there was a lot of emotion to this piece. I could almost feel like I was part of the music and there was a story going along with it. The depth and darkness of it was amazing and it all came together so well. This was one of the best covers I've heard of this song. Amazing job
Love what you did with the double stops... I play a version of this (that involves using a loop station) ... never would have thought of the double stops...
I actually know how to play this, though with very little double stops (playing two strings at the sametime). It's actually not that hard. If you can recognize the key the original Misty Mountains is in, then you can figure out the notes very quickly. I started with figuring out what the lyrics sounded like, and then I added double stops later on.
Oh my gosh! The cello is my favorite instrument, and I am so glad someone can play it exactly how I like it! And this is completely perfect because Misty Mountains was one of my favorite songs from the Hobbit. I hate that it's so short though..
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH,YOU PLAY CELLO,AND BASICALLY YOUR WHOLE CHANNEL IS ABOUT CELLOS :awesome overload: I CANT BELIVE I FOUND A CELLO PLAYER LIKE U,I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE BETTER OMGGGGGG
"Like this?" I almost fell asleep during the movie - book was waaaaaay better. So I guess, never in your whole life ever tell someone what to like and dislike, eh? >;P
this gives me chills. I wish I could play my cello like this. I play this song but always strive to make it sound so amazing like you do- with the vibrato and double stop. maybe one day I'll be able to play like this :D
9 years later I'm still coming back to this video
I'd have to say, the cello is my favorite instrument to hear playing.
Edgar Calderon I agree. I love how it is deeper, and softer than a violin or a viola, but not as much as a bass.
I second that
It’s because of the range. Because a cello has a larger range it’s more pleasing to the ear.
I play cello and I think life without music would be a mistake.
I wouldn't say that , there are some who are deaf but music is a like a way of communicating to the soul directly. I love the cello as well, the Piano, Violin and Erhu I think these 4 reach the soul in a very direct way

How long have you been plaing? Do you still play?
Life without music isn't a life I'd want to live.
The best version I've ever seen ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍😍😍😍
She put the feels into it
Her compilation of Irish Airs is equally impressive.
Thanks Bob!!

Why is this so splendid to listen to!?
Thorin approves of this beautiful cover!!
This is absolutely gorgeous. Incredibly haunting. I've got chills.
Merci mademoiselle, c'est un baume pour les oreilles et les émotions.
Great I'm so glad i'm playing cello in school
Me too

....I cried, not kidding so beautiful!!!!!
I've never played the cello but after hearing this I can't imagine a better instrument for this piece of music. Perfectly well done.
This is by far my favorite cello song I have watched on TH-cam. It's so beautiful, at one point there were tears in my eyes. I have listened to this for a good three hours while drawing...
Why did it take so long for me to find this?? Absolutely beautiful..
Your music touched my soul.

the best cover i've found of this song
I want this amazing cover to my funeral. I love it. Replaying about 2 hours.
At first, was not to sure what to expect. Deeper then what I expected but at 0:40 when that chords hits, so organic and moving. Well done! :)

Beautiful creepy. The best cello cover I came across so far.
Brilliant. You're my favorite cellist on the planet, I've shared your music with friends. Bravo from USA

I've been obsessed with this song for a while. This rendering is insane. Thank you!
So beautiful, Ilse :)
I am so inspired by this! Thank you. Played with lots of feeling.
bless you for understanding that this song demanded more than one string in the chorus
I just purchased the tutorial and am so happy! It's wonderful. Thank You for helping those who want to learn!
Breath taking! 👏
Hauntingly beautiful

It is amazing how you play chords on the cello! Freaky amazing! Keep up!
I love this! Best instrumental adaptation hands down - the cello gives the piece a warm yet melancholic feeling. Absolutely amazing!
Love the depth and passion that truly speaks to the acting
