You do realize that millions of cows/bulls around the world have nothing to play with, right? Cows don't think of much besides eating, sleeping and mating. We have "humanized" them thinking things like they need balls, tires and barrels to play with. Lester knows what he is doing.

Winter project suggestion: move the dividing fence in the cow/heffer field to just above the high water line of the creek, with a gate at both ends This will allow you to move the Cows, Heffers & Calves to the barn side of the field and keep them out of the creek flood area before a Gully Washer. Looks like Waylon is using the tubs as his blue barrel, he is bored without a toy. Might be time to hang a barrel in the tree, so it doesn't roll through the fence when you are not there. Maybe see if anyone has any old large unuseable farm tractor tires and place the water tub in the center of one. Their necks should be long enough to reach the water over the tire, only thing is you will have issues reaching the drain valve, so might have to empty with a bucket for cleaning,. You should be able to reverse the plug so it is inside the tub under the water. Alternately upgrading to a larger round tub might solve the issue, making it too large for him to move. Definate need to find a few yards of crushed stone or base to fill the hole where the tub and spigot are. Hope none of the family get washed out by Beryl, pronounced like Burl (as in Burl Ives, the Singer/Musician, also famous for narrating of the Rudolf movies in the 70's), but with an AE sound instead of U. Beryl is the female version of the Burl.

Lester you should think about building a momma pasture maybe use the barn where sadies room is and fence around it and put a gate on it that when there aint no mommas they can still use that barn but when there is mommas and bad storms bruing you can lock them in that barn just a thought. We used to put our horses in a stall overnight during storms to keep them from trying to jump fences or getting hurt on fencing. It would help you because youd be able to use that area to keep an eye on the pregnant cows.

Waiting for the storm to come, waiting for the eye to come, waiting for the storm to pass, and waiting for the updates from friends and families. Waiting for rebuilding. Waiting for any signs of normalcy.
Lester, if Waylon is going to continue to "toss" your water troughs, you may need to drive T-posts in strategic spots up next to the edges of them, to prevent them from moving. That seems to be the most effective way of preventing more "spillage", IMO. Just a suggestion....to save your water bill, too. Lester, horses are so sure footed. Especially when they are used to having the space to move and play around on. Happens so rarely that they fall. 😊
