Walking around in flood waters is probably worse than driving in them. You can drown in that if you aren't strong and the current is rough enough. Houston freeways and highways are made to flood and become "bayous" to reduce the likelihood of homes and businesses flooding. Anytime there is more than a few inches a rain they tell us to be careful on what roads we take etc so it's not just this event.

Grew up there. Left as soon as I could. On top of the annual flood, it’s hot and humid pretty much year round. Miserable place to live if you like a comfortable climate.
What is so important to be out in hurricane like weather??? Now your car is ruined and you still can’t get where you are going. Think twice folks . Good luck in any case!!!
People just can't help driving too fast in deep water. They seem to think that once they are in it, or even when it is shallowing and they haven't killed the motor yet, they should "punch it" to get out. Then the bow wave builds up over the grill and into the engine air intake which is usually just under the leading edge of the hood. On my Grand Cherokee it's above the driver's side headlight.
Thanks for posting this! I live by memorial park and was wondering what that side by the water was looking like. Luckily found a dry way out to Spring Branch!

Unreal! It's like a negotiation process to take the guy out of the flood! That and he couldn't seem to put the phone down. Am I crazy? I can't even watch the rest. 😰
Back pain or not that guy looks like he can walk out of there. Tell him to swim.
he is more interested in saving his vehicle. Leave the vehicle until the waters go down. it is not worth your life or the lives of others.
He did not look afraid or concerned, but stupid.
Everything is bigger in Texas, that includes the woosies trapped in the cars, the guy you tried to help had to jump in the water anyway 😂
guy is most likely not from here
@bankrollbrooklynn Texas has the biggest woosie defenders lol, I'm just playing

Great video!!! Never understood why people think it is ok to drive in flooded water? Do they have a boat? Would they drive their car in the river?
4:08 I love how you break down the science behind these natural disasters!
This is normal for us South East Texas people, hurricanes are our people visiting.
God bless y'all first responders. And 🙏🙏🙏for every one.
I hope his insurance isn't covering that driving in a hurricane into a lake😂😂😂
Wow! Jonathan there you are again chasing Beryl in Texas. What a brave guy. Stay safe.
A lot of people ran from New Orleans, Louisiana to Houston Texas. You can run, but you can’t hide.🤷🏽♀️
Stay safe and Strong Texas!
texas
the idiots who tried to drive in through water and got stuck.. no saving them from their stupidity
everythang bigga in texas . .

Thank you Johnaton and crew you are recently came from carriacou now you are in Texas wow😮!
I don't live in texas, but even I saw the warnings from the mayor and other agencies that said to stay home, don't drive, stay off the streets for exactly the reasons you see in this video. I have known for days this was coming and as it got closer, that it was going to hit close to houston, smh. I know there are essential workers but no one can get to their jobs, or frequent those business, due to flooding. By going out there, you put other people's lives at risk. Stay the eff home.
You guys did a great job. RESPECT❤
Pray for Houston! Pray for Buc-ee's and the beaver nuggets!
These storms are more severe and frequent. i live in Louisiana...i know. i am terrified whenever there is a disturbance in the Atlantic. We have suffered so much from them recently.
For her to be a cat one she definitely packed more of a punch then most thought she would. Let this be a lesson a storm doesn't have to be a cat 3 or higher to cause major problems.
The guy ontop of the car probably needed a cruise ship to come rescue him😂
Praying for my precious cousin Liz in Houston. We've tried to call you! Stay safe! We love you!
calls and texts not going thru consistently
Same. Can't get ahold of our neighbor on the coast. We evacuated, he didn't. Prayers for them all. P.S, I once had a very intelligent goldfish named Sparky.
Phone service going on and off
I have family that live down in Houston. They're fine and cleaning are up.
Stay safe out there Brandon.🙏🙏🙏🙏
Prayers for all🙏🏾
Somebody forgot to tell Beryl that it isn't a real hurricane. Just a tropical storm.
that motherplucker packed 100+mph peak wind gusts.
Beryl identifies as a hurricane 😂
It rapidly intensified right before lastfall, a high end cat 1
Congratulations on a million 🎉
It really irritates me to see people who have to be rescued from their cars because they were too stupid or too arrogant to stay in a safe shelter. They tie up emergency services that might be needed more somewhere else.
We appreciate you and your information very much !
Time to think about leaving Houston.
Yes I’m thinking this event will prove to be a lasting problem for Houston. It was already a trashy city but I see it decaying a bit from this.
The damage looked worse in Texas than in Jamaica... Unreal
Houston is always flooding. No way I could live there.
No was bubba
That's good we don't need anymore people here. Please stay where you are 😂😂😂
We don't need no stinking zoning laws.
I know a guy that just moved there in late 22" I wonder if he liking Houston
Grew up there. Left as soon as I could. On top of the annual flood, it’s hot and humid pretty much year round. Miserable place to live if you like a comfortable climate.
Shipping from California ain't cheap lately but I can happily send you guys a bucket.
The only car on that strip of the highway and it’s flooded. Apparently no common sense with some drivers.
This is the 3rd instance of massive amoutn of rain in Houston within the last 2 months. I wonder if this is all worth putting up with every year?
Some people are truly dense!
Thank you for sharing
What is so important to be out in hurricane like weather??? Now your car is ruined and you still can’t get where you are going. Think twice folks . Good luck in any case!!!
GOD BLESS the state of texas ,… please take your precaution🙇♂️🙇♂️🙏🏻
People just can't help driving too fast in deep water. They seem to think that once they are in it, or even when it is shallowing and they haven't killed the motor yet, they should "punch it" to get out. Then the bow wave builds up over the grill and into the engine air intake which is usually just under the leading edge of the hood. On my Grand Cherokee it's above the driver's side headlight.
People in the country infest in snorkels.
People should not be driving in deep water slowly or fast. Stay home, business are closed today
Thanks for posting this! I live by memorial park and was wondering what that side by the water was looking like. Luckily found a dry way out to Spring Branch!
Weather warning and advisory: take shelter/evacuate asap
Dumb people: I’m just gonna drive my car on the road anyways and fingers crossed
Texans take their cues from Florida drivers.
God Bless the people in charge of saving lives...though their own families may be in danger, ...and might wonder for hours on end where their loved one is.....and are they safe....
If y’all turn power off before natural disaster hits would minimize damage to components , infrastructure and eliminate possible electrocution
Well good thing I was asleep
@@bert1450 The lines were not isolated viewed in this vid. The sign lights on…The blue/white repeated flashes was lines contacting together or to ground. (Line fault ) an OCR trips then reconnects three to five times in automatic response to a fault. If a line fused high, secondary faults can burn equip before primary recognizes fault. Transformers sometimes explode. P=E x I. P = power…E= voltage ..I = current. Primary high voltage ,low current. Secondary. Low voltage , high current. Current does the work. Voltage is like pressure. Compare to garden hose. Pressure pushes water , water does the work. Simplified so all might understand
I went there yesterday to IAH from San Antonio, and returned. Couldn't believe 2 days ago it was like this
Why is that guy sitting on top of his car in the water when other men are walking all around him? Oh, I see. He needed first responders to come and hold his hand while he walked out in waist-deep water. WAH!
Afraid of the crocs..in the water..
He wanted to make sure you had a solid insurance claim. If the cops are called he felt it would be more legit I guess. Was he driving with back pain?
May all be safe 🙏🏼
100mile winds ain't no joke
Why did the 100mph wind go to therapy?
It had too much pressure
Try a cat 2. Sally only moving 5 mph. More rain than that.
But driving in 3 feet of water is funny
Where did they have 100 mile an hour winds ?????
@@cag19549i believe they mean gusts
