Screaming is not singing. There is much more effort to get the notes out for her now. Singing should be effort less. Look at Barbara Cook in her 60s with effortless tone. Alice Ripley sing stretching and forcing those big belts out which is indicative of vocal damage.
Wow, is she awesome!!! And she's really funny as well! She sounds a bit like Melissa Etheridge mixed with Grace Slick mixed with Patty Smyth with a side of Bonnie Raitt :)
The score isn't difficult, the range is. It's a small but major difference in something like Evita versus something like Sweeney Todd (which *is* a difficult score).
A Hee Haw Honey.........Wow, that is great! I never missed Hee Haw! I am here because Bananabasket "Michael Burbach" favored this! I am glad I came! subscribed!
anything is better then Elena was, people would go all the time for the Understudy Christina. And Alice is a fierce bitch who's name could have brought people in (Next to Normal geeks like me)
she sayin that shes supposed to be screaming because it is such a passionate part of the role but uhhhh that is how she yells everything. shouldve stayed in opera
since i saw her as a mentally unstable person in N2N and now every time i see her i have this feeling that she’s gonna have a break down
I am OBSESSED with this interview and with AR in general. the end.
Gosh, she's perfect, I love her SO MUCH!!!😀❤️ And she's so sweet, funny, and adorable too! Not to mention one of the best actresses ever, wow!
I am so in love with both of them ugh I'm seeing them in Provincetown, MA in September and I am just so excited I can't even contain it.
Whenever you forget why you admire this woman, come back to this video. She is so adorable! Quirky actors for the absolute win.
She seems so sweet! It almost feels harsh watching Seth talking to her but I know it's just his sense of humor.
How could anyone say that this woman doesn't still have it. She's awesome and she's fun.

She NAILS Evita. WOW!!!
HOLY CRAP! Ahhhhhh. This is awesome! FINALLY, she's on this show.
I'll never forget when I saw Alice live
She is so fucking AMAZING
Afraid she had permanent vocal damage when I saw her in N2N in Chicago, glad she is sounding at level she was at when she was on Broadway 2009
saying it was perfect and sounds the same again contradicts itself
HAHAHAH she's so adorable.
Shes still got it, i lold at people who told me that she cant sing
I didn't care for her Evita audition spot but I love her!
I love you, Alice. You sing so well.
She's insane. I love her.
She's crazy.
I love it.
I freaking love her!!!!!!
I'm in love with her. The end.
"I don't know why, I just thought maybe you might want to know that." hahaha i found that so cute. i love her so much
Damn she still has it goin on...
she is so weird and quirky! that's what i absolutely love about her! she just seems like such a genuine human being
HURRAY! I've been waiting for a new one!

TONY AWARD WINNER FOR N2N

She's so funny and WEIRD! I LOVE HER!
I totally remember her from Hee Haw
i love alice but i have to agree with you it sounded like just that 16 bars was like really painful for her
she should so be Evita
Please, before you get that part, go to a video about Evita's actual days and see that she is not as harsh as requiered in the musical.
Alice Ripley is the original flawless human being.
PRAISE THE LORD
Yo casting directors...cast her. She kicks butt.
My face, the VEIN... LMAO!
"low caps" AHAHAHA
i love what the buck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they got the show cancelled..oh my, i wonder why.
Buck I have been trying to tell you that Rainbow High should be your new karaoke song based on this video.
She's so sweet. But how can you stand him.
anything is better then Elena was, people would go all the time for the Understudy Christina. And Alice is a fierce bitch who's name could have brought people in (Next to Normal geeks like me)
I was at the first preview of the Evita Revival in March 2012. I was so underwhelmed by Elena Roger's voice. Not enough power.
Has she written any other songs?
so much better than freakin Elena Roger..
Wait, wasn't George Lindsay Goober?
i completely disagree. she's a gift to musical theater
she sayin that shes supposed to be screaming because it is such a passionate part of the role but uhhhh that is how she yells everything. shouldve stayed in opera
I think she should have stuck with opera. -just my opinion.
MezzoAlicia lol you think?
Um, Evita is so out of her range... It's painful to listen to
Tillysnow1 she’s barely got Rainbow High... there’s no way she could do A New Argentina 6 times a week lol
Camara Rhodes it’s the song she sang at the end. The one with “I’m their savior that’s what they call me.” It’s from Evita
Nope
She's strange
