If SDC would build a hyper I think it would be a mini hyper like Goliath at La Ronde or the one at Universal in Japan which fixes most of these issues. Plus SDC and DW add coasters with 3-5 year gaps on average.
Not as of recently Dollywood has been doing two year gaps but I think we may shift back toward 3-5 because of statements dolly said at the announcement of wildwood groce but there's also a chance of a 2021 or 2022 coaster based on the survey that was sent out in 2019 but will have to wait and see.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention a B&M dive coaster. Back when Time Traveler was just starting to be built, there was a survey sent out to pass holders about a B&M dive coaster. It’s been a while, but I remember that survey vividly.
That was actually in the script in my first draft. However I talked it out with a friend at the park and what I am being told is that the dive coaster concept and the Xtreme Spinner were both pitched. The Xtreme Spinner was obviously chosen over the B&M Dive. Because Time Traveler features that 90 degree drop it has that Dive Coaster gimmick. Now even though the experiences would be completely different it sounds like it was a one or the other situation. We could be wrong though. I think a Dive Coaster that drops underground with a mine theme would be awesome!
SDC already has an indoor coaster with Fire in the Hole. They could do a refurb on it though, update the animatronics, maybe upgrade the track and trains...I know nothing about Rollercoaster mechanics but that's just what I'd like to see.
I like the idea of an indoor coaster or wing coaster the most. I’m leaning toward indoor because of what you said about the weather. We went during Christmas and it was brutally cold and they shutdown all the outdoor coasters when it gets below 45° or so.
My dad works at Silver Dollar City and he says the "newest" coaster is an exact replica of Fire in the Hole. He hasn't been in the construction area, but he said that they laser measured everything so it'll be the exact same.
With SDC being my home park I will give my 2 cents. I would totally love a B&M wing or hyper coaster at the park. I have wondered why they haven't gotten one sooner. If they were to build either, the best spot will be past Wildfire and Powderkeg to open up that corner of the park into a complete loop. I think if they went this route as they have gone with attention grabbing marketing with unique rides as a "first" or as the "tallest", "fastest", "steepest", why not a B&M Hyper using Wing Coaster trains? Seems possible to do as the Hyper model is simply the label for a 200+ft high non-inverting out and back design. With that aforementioned location I think they should do it as a terrain hyper that extends out along the land where the railway goes and have head chopping moments or close proximity passes thru the trees (Look up Apollo's Chariot) and theme it to a bird. On the Dark Ride it was speculated that SDC was originally supposed to get Mystery Mine or something like it during its planning phase to re-purpose the now unused Waterboggen Tower but the recession apparently killed that plan and so the tower still stands vacant to this day. (we also lost Celebration City down the road) There have been rumors lately that either or both Flooded Mine and Fire In The Hole could be going away within the next 5 years. I would personally hate to see this as these are the signature classic SDC attractions that many consider the heart and soul of the park. But many are citing maintenance issues are getting beyond their capacity to handle. A respectful true remake that honors both rides would be acceptable I suppose. Other problem with this is I don't know how much they would invest as one worker stated to me while I was there for the Mystic River Falls announcement that it would cost more than both Time Traveler and Mystic River Falls combined to do either ($50+ million) so it might get pushed back or off the table for now. The family suspended coaster to me would seem to be most likely.
And on a selfish note (which I mentioned in your other SDC video regarding Outlaw Run) I would love to see a redesigned remake of the GCI Ozark Wildcat that we lost down the road at Celebration City. Its not fair that Dollywood gets both a GCI and a RMC and then Worlds Of Fun up the road in KC also has two different wooden coasters while SDC only has one. lol
I never got to ride Ozark Wildcat so I would love this idea!! Especially if it uses the terrain they could really design something special! I think GCI could be possible down the road for sure.
I would love to see a flying terrian coaster. There aren't many out there and the thought of "flying" through the forrest seems awesome to me. I also hope they don't mirror Dollywood because it encourages guests to visit both parks
Even though this has almost no chance of this happening i would love to see a B&M or vekoma flying coaster kind of like flying dinosaur with all the crazy elements but as a terrain coaster... I've always thought a terrain flyer would be so cool especially with a bird type theme soaring through the trees. My second option would either be a terrain vekoma or B&M Hyper and while none of that will happen an enthusiast can dream... also maybe put a launch on that flyer?!?

So apparently they are doing major groundwork behind Fireman's Landing and Mystic River Falls which can be seen from the main road, and the popular rumour is that it will be a family coaster of some kind, possibly by Gerstlauer so it would be similar to FireChaser Express at Dollywood.
Both outlaw run and time traveler were worlds firsts. Outlaw run worlds first inverting wood coaster (not including sun of beast which had a steal loop) and time traveler was the first extreme spinning coaster and also thirdly mystic river falls is the tallest river rapids, so i believe that silver dollar city is going for records so i dont think any of these are likely additions.
If SDC does plan on making another coaster in the near future, I hope it's something like a Wing or Inverted coaster. Every one of those current coasters there are uniquely different than the last. Plus, I'd love to see what they'd look like with the park's theme.

They could do a family-style GCI like InvadR. They already have an extreme woodie, so it would be nice to have them put one for families. That’s just my opinion though.
Whatever roller coaster they choose, the terrain will be a major factor. Outlaw run for the most part runs along the ground because of the amount of the Ozark hills. I personally would rather see them upgrade Fire in the Hole just like they upgraded Lost Ozark River. Since Fire in the Hole is a 3 story indoor coaster, I think it would be cool to see additional levels added to allow for more drops.
I haven't had a chance to go to Dollywood yet so a wing coaster would be amazing. I'm sure whatever they would go with it will be well with the investment because Time Traveler definitely was with investing in. Keep up the great work on your videos 😊

Jim Cantrell, I agree, that sounds like an excellent idea and a good way to find space. A new Fire In The Hole with modern animatronics, better pacing and some projection mapping could be a huge hit and do a better job of telling the story.

I'm curious to see if Herschend would consider working with Vekoma for their hyper, if they were to ever get one. Dollywood has an aggressive, elite coaster in Lightning Rod, but SDC doesn't really have that, other than Outlaw Run, which I think is decently less aggressive than Lightning Rod. No one has gotten a Vekoma hyper, and I would imagine that they're cheaper than a B&M or an Intamin. I doubt it would happen, but I would love to see it. Next-gen Vekomas look fantastic.
SDC already has a kiddie coaster and thunderation which is a family focused ride so getting yet another family coaster wouldn’t be practical in my mind. But Dollywood has two family coasters so who knows 😂
It is rumored SDC wants to overhaul Fire in the Hole like they did with the Lost River. The ride and the building it sits in is extremely old and is showing it’s age.
They need a ride that goes up high to give you a view of the park. Maybe a drop tower but themed to a hot air balloon. Or a monster ferris wheel. It would be good to get a high up view of the park in the Ozarks hills. if they updated Fire in the Hole, that would be good, but I hope they never scrap it altogether. It is too unique and iconic. A better idea would be to scrap the Flooded Mine. It is not a great ride. It's an ok ride, don't hate. But they just did a refresh on it for the 2019 season so I doubt they will get rid of it either. Regardless, they still have a ton of room at the back of the park, so I don't see why they would need to get rid of anything.
I agree with the tall ride! I always thought something like a Sky Screamer would work really well here to get all of those gorgeous views. It would be perfect to have at by the entrance which I could be wrong, but is one of the taller points at the park. And i think it would go great with an entrance remodel!
Been going here my entire life. Just recently took a second job here (fantastic place to work) but I still haven't found the guts to ride Time Traveler
I think Dollywood‘s family suspend coaster would’ve fit a lot better if they didn’t paint it green I just think it looks so out of place and it doesn’t match anything else in the park, it’s a great ride though, I just wish the color was something that can blend in more

I would love to see more rides that are actually family rides. A family ride is one the whole family can ride. If you can name a single in your family that can't ride it for any reason then it's not a family ride.
They need a great family coaster. There is a huge gap between Powder Keg/Wildfire to Thunderation. Something like Wave Breaker/ Firechaser would be perfect. I wouldn’t want a Vekoma family invert cause imo Dragonflier was tame and a capacity nightmare, being the only family coaster at the park.
I’m also wondering where SDC would put a new ride. They seem to have used up their real estate unless they have some undeveloped areas I’m not aware of.
Right now with covid it could be 2022 to 2024 when they get it. But since there wanting family I say it be small like the Vakoma or the indoor. Another idea is. This is a long shot but something like Laugh track at Hersey park. Or a themed Wild mouse
The only thing that kinda makes me wonder about their consideration of reliability is the fact mystic river falls is manufactured by intamin which did infinity falls at seaworld Orlando I went on that this past summer and down time was recurring issue. Will see if maybe intamin worked out the bugs with infinity falls and maybe mystic river falls may be more reliable. The other is dollywoods next coaster assuming they get an indoor launch coaster like the survey they put would suggest as an option Dollywood may work with intamin soon as well.
So although Infinity Falls and Mystic River Falls are similar, MRF is actually built in house not by Intamin. But to your point, there is definitely a chance SDC works with Intamin in the future.
They just refurbished Blazing Fury just a few years ago. Thats the FITH clone. I highly doubt they shut it down. You might be confusing it with their Flooded Mine dark ride that they used to have at DW.
I considered discussing a Mack Hyper. I went with the B&M Hyper just because that was in the Dollywood survey. I think a Mack Hyper is certain not out of the question though. I also don't think a giga is out of the question at some point, but it has a very small chance in the next 5 years IMO.

Where would SDC put a B and M Wing Coaster or a Hypercoaster? They like to hide their coasters from the streets of SDC because they believe coasters disrupt the storyline of SDC. Also, Worlds of Fun has a hypercoaster that is about 4 hours away which in Missouri translates to "just up the road". They have a kiddie area in Fireman's Landing with some wooded area still available where the Wilderness Waterboggan was located. Dollywood has a family coaster with a fire fighter theme. Fire in the Hole could get a TOTAL reboot with "cutting edge technology" for that indoor coaster experience which tells a story using multi-sensory media platforms....in the style of Dollywood's Haunted Mine.
From what I understood by park staff, they own something like a thousand acres of unused land which is that whole hillside below the railway past Wildfire and Powderkeg and along and towards the parking lot. Putting the station building between the two and using the terrain of the hillside and having it diving thru the treeline at close proximity would work perfectly and then opening those dead end pathways at WF/PK into a complete loop that would also connect to it. It will all come down to size because silver dollar city is really running low on land and they will have to try and open a new area of land to get a new coaster so it will all come to how much land that they can use to expand
Not true they have over 1000 acres according to staff I talked to as that whole hillside where the railway runs is owned by them. I see them expanding and adding something out that way.
Yea that’s what I meant is that they are going to have to do a lot of work and money because they will have to make a hole new section of the park and with it being on a hill it’s going to be expensive
I really do want to make one about CGA. Especially since originally they were supposed to get a hyper. My issue is I have never been there, so I don’t have a lot of footage to make a quality video at the moment. But if I get enough interest I could definitely see if someone is able to lend me some CGA B Roll so I can make a Next Coaster video. Now I will be following all the 2021 rumors throughout the year so if any major news happens at CGA or any other parks I’ll cover it here or on my Instagram page.
I don't think it will be a hyper coaster. I have been to Sdc numerous times and while there are long lines at most costers never at outlaw run. I have. ridden it and so has my family. Out of the six of us 3 won't ride it again 2 would. I think Sdc.needs to build rides for older guests.

Sdc is my home park. I love time traveler, it is awesome. I agree that most likely will be a family oriented ride. My wish would be an rmc raptor!
It is rumored SDC wants to overhaul Fire in the Hole like they did with the Lost River. The ride and the building it sits in is extremely old and is showing it’s age.
Love this park, went the weekend before last, and now this upcoming weekend as well!
They need a ride that goes up high to give you a view of the park. Maybe a drop tower but themed to a hot air balloon. Or a monster ferris wheel. It would be good to get a high up view of the park in the Ozarks hills. if they updated Fire in the Hole, that would be good, but I hope they never scrap it altogether. It is too unique and iconic. A better idea would be to scrap the Flooded Mine. It is not a great ride. It's an ok ride, don't hate. But they just did a refresh on it for the 2019 season so I doubt they will get rid of it either. Regardless, they still have a ton of room at the back of the park, so I don't see why they would need to get rid of anything.
I agree with the tall ride! I always thought something like a Sky Screamer would work really well here to get all of those gorgeous views. It would be perfect to have at by the entrance which I could be wrong, but is one of the taller points at the park. And i think it would go great with an entrance remodel!

I think Dollywood‘s family suspend coaster would’ve fit a lot better if they didn’t paint it green I just think it looks so out of place and it doesn’t match anything else in the park, it’s a great ride though, I just wish the color was something that can blend in more

I would love to see more rides that are actually family rides. A family ride is one the whole family can ride. If you can name a single in your family that can't ride it for any reason then it's not a family ride.

They need a great family coaster. There is a huge gap between Powder Keg/Wildfire to Thunderation. Something like Wave Breaker/ Firechaser would be perfect. I wouldn’t want a Vekoma family invert cause imo Dragonflier was tame and a capacity nightmare, being the only family coaster at the park.
SDC has been on the early adopter side with their last two coasters, so personally I’m pulling for an S&S Axis.
I actually like the train of wild fire that looks like a hyper.
It looks so much better than dragon khan or kumba trains.
I’m also wondering where SDC would put a new ride. They seem to have used up their real estate unless they have some undeveloped areas I’m not aware of.
What if they are getting a Mack Hyper coaster because the have also worked with Mack recently.
Right now with covid it could be 2022 to 2024 when they get it. But since there wanting family I say it be small like the Vakoma or the indoor. Another idea is. This is a long shot but something like Laugh track at Hersey park. Or a themed Wild mouse

The only thing that kinda makes me wonder about their consideration of reliability is the fact mystic river falls is manufactured by intamin which did infinity falls at seaworld Orlando I went on that this past summer and down time was recurring issue. Will see if maybe intamin worked out the bugs with infinity falls and maybe mystic river falls may be more reliable. The other is dollywoods next coaster assuming they get an indoor launch coaster like the survey they put would suggest as an option Dollywood may work with intamin soon as well.
So although Infinity Falls and Mystic River Falls are similar, MRF is actually built in house not by Intamin. But to your point, there is definitely a chance SDC works with Intamin in the future.
Mechanical Parts (e.g. the lift and loading system) and Boats were supplied by Intamin. The rest is in-house built.
I just hope they don't get rid of Fire in the Hole (does need an update though)

RMC Raptor would great for SDC. Dollywood doesn't have one of those.
Dollywood has a higher chance of getting an indoor ride because the ride they had similar to Silver Dollar City's fire in the hole was shut down.
They just refurbished Blazing Fury just a few years ago. Thats the FITH clone. I highly doubt they shut it down. You might be confusing it with their Flooded Mine dark ride that they used to have at DW.
Why not a Mack hyper?
I considered discussing a Mack Hyper. I went with the B&M Hyper just because that was in the Dollywood survey. I think a Mack Hyper is certain not out of the question though. I also don't think a giga is out of the question at some point, but it has a very small chance in the next 5 years IMO.

Where would SDC put a B and M Wing Coaster or a Hypercoaster? They like to hide their coasters from the streets of SDC because they believe coasters disrupt the storyline of SDC. Also, Worlds of Fun has a hypercoaster that is about 4 hours away which in Missouri translates to "just up the road".
They have a kiddie area in Fireman's Landing with some wooded area still available where the Wilderness Waterboggan was located. Dollywood has a family coaster with a fire fighter theme.
Fire in the Hole could get a TOTAL reboot with "cutting edge technology" for that indoor coaster experience which tells a story using multi-sensory media platforms....in the style of Dollywood's Haunted Mine.
From what I understood by park staff, they own something like a thousand acres of unused land which is that whole hillside below the railway past Wildfire and Powderkeg and along and towards the parking lot. Putting the station building between the two and using the terrain of the hillside and having it diving thru the treeline at close proximity would work perfectly and then opening those dead end pathways at WF/PK into a complete loop that would also connect to it. It will all come down to size because silver dollar city is really running low on land and they will have to try and open a new area of land to get a new coaster so it will all come to how much land that they can use to expand
Not true they have over 1000 acres according to staff I talked to as that whole hillside where the railway runs is owned by them. I see them expanding and adding something out that way.
Yea that’s what I meant is that they are going to have to do a lot of work and money because they will have to make a hole new section of the park and with it being on a hill it’s going to be expensive

I really do want to make one about CGA. Especially since originally they were supposed to get a hyper. My issue is I have never been there, so I don’t have a lot of footage to make a quality video at the moment. But if I get enough interest I could definitely see if someone is able to lend me some CGA B Roll so I can make a Next Coaster video. Now I will be following all the 2021 rumors throughout the year so if any major news happens at CGA or any other parks I’ll cover it here or on my Instagram page.

I don't think it will be a hyper coaster. I have been to Sdc numerous times and while there are long lines at most costers never at outlaw run. I have. ridden it and so has my family. Out of the six of us 3 won't ride it again 2 would. I think Sdc.needs to build rides for older guests.
Also fact check: Raptor at Gardaland was the first B&M Wing coaster.. and sorry I don't count America only..
