Loved this storyline. One of those rare times where a rewrite actually amplifies a show's history and charts a dynamic relationship between two incredibly layered characters.

I loved SMG so much as Kendall, she's the one & only Kendall. This is when I first saw SMG when I was a youth. She MADE AMC!! When she left, I stopped watching.
I loved SMG as kendall however I also thought they did an amazing job recasting. I loved older kendall and the scenes she and erica had.

God Sarah is so young, I remember her being a little shit and tried 2 seduce Dmitri later. But, Alicia is one the examples of how to take over a vital role and make it her own. I love Alicia as Kendall!!

I loved SMG in this role and I don’t usually ever like recasts more than the original but I think I ended up liking the recast even more. Alicia definitely made that role her own.

They were attempting to give Erica a mini-Erica, a teenager from hell... but the audience called B.S. almost from the gate because the show had been on 23 years by that point and they knew there was no way Erica could've had given birth to a child that was in her teens, so they made Kendall 23 in order to say Kendall's birth happened just before the show came on the air. Even still, Erica was at least 16 when she debuted (because it was mentioned she was driving and had a car) but Lucci claims Erica was 15 in order to fudge the age to make sense for Kendall.
melatina66 Your information is all wrong. Susan Lucci was born in December 1946. All My Children debuted January 1970 and Erica didn't appear until 2 weeks later. So by the time Erica made her first appearance, Lucci was 23 and Erica was 16 in high school with Tara and Phil. Plus, Erica was raped at age 14, not 15. It's all canon, dear. The problem was they were initially going to go with Kendall being a teenager, which is why they hired a teenager (Sarah Gellar was only 16 in this scene). But the audience didn't buy Erica having a 16 year old daughter allegedly born when Erica was only 14 turning up 23 years AFTER we've met Erica as a high school girl so they aged Kendall to 23 and put Sarah Gellar in heavy makeup and teased hair to mature her look.

@@HisgGalore Yes. I lived in SoCal during the height of the Buffy and Angel series. I got to work as a background actor on Angel several times and attended social events where I met most of the casts from both shows. Buffy, in particular, had some of the best writing ever on television!
I never watched AMC when when Sarah was on, but i've been watching Buffy clips, so i decided to look up AMC and this is the first clip i saw. Anyway, does anyone else think Sarah shold've kept the weight she had on here? She's anorexic compared to this. She looks so much better here.
