Man those are some big rounds. I’m impressed with what you can do with that box wedge. One thing I’ve figured out with my splitter which is a 4 way and after watching you with a box wedge. I believe that it’s better to quarter rounds that are bigger than 30 inches. I feel it’s faster and less of a dog splitting them.
Hey Sheib that machine is a beast. Very impressive, it’s a true testament to the quality of Eastonmade products. It’s my opinion that Andrew is leading the way with his line up and innovation. I think his machines with the built in conveyors are a game changer. That base of sycamore would make an amazing tabletop Cheers Woody !!! Woooo
I have some 33" red oak logs right now i have a modified box store with drop in wedges like everythingelliot done. I love the huge oak logs. I noodle them but so much wood comes from those big rounds. Im wanting a 12-22 bad. Im glad you are pushing the limits. Big wood is mainly what i can my hands on.
Nice work. I have the same machine, bought in 2019. The largest round I split was 42” diameter white oak. The box wedge made beautiful firewood. Keep the videos coming!
I got a load of big sycamore from tree service guys and it kicked my butt. Noodled it down some and then just started taking splits off the sides and worked around and around .My Eastonmade 5/11 would split down through the centers but was a slow struggle. Good luck and pick a cool day to wrestle that stuff👍👌🇺🇸🇨🇦💪
Scheib, you are getting some massive rounds too. Those big rounds are a lot of work, but make a lot of firewood. Sycamore can be difficult to split, alot of people do not like messing with it. 12-22 did really well with the oak rounds. Beast mode on the beastonmade
That's some Splitzilla wood there brother!! WHOOOOO love it!! Have you looked into an electric winch for the crane? That and a tongs would be handy with big rounds?
Don when I did big rounds like that trying to turn the rounds 1 slipped n fell back against push ram with my middle finger in way turned purple n 2 weeks later lost nail so carefully handle them pcs. Bill
@OutsidewithScheib That is one of the wedges that I have coming with my 12/22 .I also got the 4 way and 6 way. I hope to get it in late October or early November. Thanks man and keep up the good work
The speed of that box wedge is awesome I just don’t like all the trash/slash wood it makes . On that size wood any ways it may do better on smaller rounds .
I've had the 22-28 come to a halt, they all have thier limits . Lots of the stuff Scheib does he really needed the bigger splitter but I get it when it comes to price, things are spensive.
@@backyardfirewood9852 For me it was an easy choice, I heat 2 buildings with wood only, plus I run a wood fired maple syrup operation. The 22-28 is a production monster especially with the 12 way, if you're gonna go, go big. Luckily I got mine before the price increase but it was still plenty painful to pay that much.
@@Tonnsfabrication I hear you. I just cut and sell wood for a side hustle and dirt bike money. The ‘ole CountyLine works for me. Maybe I’ll paint it Orange and Blue 🤣
@@backyardfirewood9852 I still have and use my county line, I have a hyd boom on it though. The rugged made is an awesome splitter for the money if ya ever step up, I built a custom hyd wedge on mine like eastonmade and fabbed an 8 way for it, that thing was a monster producer. I sold it when my 22-28 came early. My friends still talk about that ruggedmade.
I realize this wood is to be split for firewood, but that huge 66-inch slab in the center of the frame at 14:25 of this video could become the focus of a killer natural edge table if a decent board could be carefully "sliced" from it. In fact, you might get more than one slab, if not a few more, all of which would have a similar grain pattern for a savvy wood craftsman with a vision. It appears he wouldn't have to fill many splits, gouges or crevices with epoxy, either. I'd post some shots of this hunk of wood on social media and see who comes calling with a checkbook in their mouth. You might wind up making more $$$ for those slabs alone to more than pay for other wood you've had to process. Why not check out some YT woodworkers like Black Tail Studio and see what he says? Ya never know, ya know?
I would take that flair piece and make an outside table. Set it on top of one of the other stumps to raise it to a good sitting height. You could use some rebar dowels to hold the base and top together.📐🪚🛠
Gota love them log lifts we got a few of them bigens sitting around that we gota got after also .
hi there well done . the big ones test both you and the splitter . well done , time for a beer , john

I think your channel does the most to show everyone the versatility of the Eastonmade Products. What you do is as real as it gets.

Hi Don. I get a lot of big straight rounds like that. The pullback arm on the box wedge really makes it easier to handle them.
Nice work. I have the same machine, bought in 2019. The largest round I split was 42” diameter white oak. The box wedge made beautiful firewood. Keep the videos coming!
Man Scheib, that thing is a beast! Those loge had some great firewood! Great video!
Those sycamores are huge!! Looking forward to seeing them in action.
You sure have some big wood there big guy!
Yeah man but from the way it sounds it’s going to be a pain.
Nice to meet up in Boonville bud. Thanks for the stickers for my splitter. Kinda small it's only 35 😂😂😂
Hey Scheib , dang those were some big round . The 12-22 was eating them for lunch !!!! 👍🏻🇺🇸🪵🍺
Damn Scheib you always seem to have the big wood to split. Can’t wait to see that sycamore being split.
Tested some tonight not going to be to enjoyable 👎🏻
Good Gracious Sheib, who did you piss off to bring you those rounds🤣 Take care my friend 🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
Those are some truly massive oak rounds. You got your workout for the day!

That was some huge pieces!! Lots of work, but lots of wood!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Thanks, you too!
That's a good job on that big old oak You kicked the hell out of it Enjoy the video I'll be watching more stay safe stay healthy and have a good day
That’s some big rounds. Great video Scheib!
Thanks!
Morning. Glad to meet you at Boonville
Thanks for coming
Be interesting to see how fast you could do a 1/3 cord challenge with those monsters.
Great video looking forward to seeing a big buck video this season to
Watching you flip those rounds gives me a sore back
Sycamore is going to be a fight. Don't let that pretty bark lie to you. It covers up some of the nastiest splitting wood God ever made.
I built a boxwedge a few years ago. Its the easiest way to split the big stuff. It usually likes smaller bites with those bigger rounds
Man now that’s a hunk of wood! Nice job.
Looks like it has power but a little concerned about having to man handle the logs because of knots . Good job .
Love it!!!! Split on!! Fun set up!
Glad you liked it!!
Huge and heavy oak! Definitely a workout but a ton of wood from a few rounds! The box wedge and pullback arm definitely help with the big boys.
Totally agree!

That sycamore is gonna give the 12-22 a workout!!!!
Well we shall see if it’s up to the task 🤘🏻🤘🏻🍺🍺
Never a doubt the 12-22 could handle those pieces.
Amazing, I was wondering how a 12-22 would do with larger rounds. Thanks, very good video.
With that big flared piece near the end of the video, taking a 3 inch slab of the large end might make a very nice coffee table.
Thanks for the tip!
Scheib,it looked like a 🐻 wrestling with another 🐻 doing those big rounds ❤😊😮

Beer n smoke…real man! Love the content
I can’t wait for my 12-22. I have to get my fix by watching you 😂
Holy hell that sycamore is BIG!
It's been a while since I've worked sycamore, but as I remember, it made Elm seem like a pleasure to split.
MyFather-in-law always said about the punky parts, “It’ll make smoke.” 😂
Couple of big rounds right there
Which wedge are you using. Great job making big wood into little wood
Standard 7 way box
@OutsidewithScheib That is one of the wedges that I have coming with my 12/22 .I also got the 4 way and 6 way. I hope to get it in late October or early November. Thanks man and keep up the good work
hi , i think that Sycamore is going to give you a lesson you wont forget , john
Can you rig up that deer stand to lift the pieces in the cradle to easily spin them? Maybe a lag screw with an eye to hook to?
I think I’ll have to make a more heavy duty one for those the hoist is only good for 600lb
Good morning scheib
That butt end would make a nice table. Big wood lots work but makes a ton of wood.
You will have earned every dollar you get for that oak wood.
Noodle them in 4 pcs, your back will thank you. Good vids, DON.
Lots of monsters in the yard 👍🏽
Sycamore is nasty splitting wood. You might want to noodle into smaller pieces.
You have Your work cut out for You with those rounds. You about maxed out the splitter.
Yeah pretty close to maxing
I have seen you lift some large logs, dont tell me you lifted those large ones by hand, how did you get those loaded
Rolled these bigins up the ramp into the trailer
Rock on sheib back to your best
The speed of that box wedge is awesome I just don’t like all the trash/slash wood it makes . On that size wood any ways it may do better on smaller rounds .
The speed is well worth the slash. Plus the ease of use not handling the wood as much.
Nice load of wood
Thanks 👍
Hey Scheib good morning::))
Morning
Where your tractor???
Do you know the number to buy the wood splitter
613-812-3213
mudah sekali ya bos bikin kayu pecah
How in the world were you able to get it loaded, that is some awful big rounds
Should have noodles them in 4 pc. Your BACK will thank u later on in life😊
Dang; that first round was not going without a fight! Don't know who needs a beer more, you or the splitter. LOL How have the sales been?
I've had the 22-28 come to a halt, they all have thier limits . Lots of the stuff Scheib does he really needed the bigger splitter but I get it when it comes to price, things are spensive.

It probably would of been easier to move the splitter closer to the wood
That sycamore will work that splitter
u can use the crane to turn the big logs

Black Tail is the real deal man.
I think you should knife hand those rounds first, thatll soften them up, if not split them on the first go
Too bad the rest of us have to wait A year to get an Eastonmade. Luckily there are a lot of other people making splitters out there...
If the 66" side of the big sycamore butt is a flat cut, that would make a great table top. Know anyone with a chainsaw mill and a really long bar?
You should have had a coworker.
Yeah I know lol
I know that is a heavy duty log splitter, hope you don’t bend something
I don’t know why people push it when they can stop sign it.
Anything under 36” not big…..😅
Why do u call it a 7way. 6 pieces come out of it.😂
#7 is the piece on top that’s pulled back.
@@diywithjonandpebblesyep,…That’s what I thought for the longest, lol.
