What I love about you Kripp is not only that you do these incredibly information-dense guide videos from time to time, but also that you do it in one fucking take. Good stuff as always.
“If you play a few hours a day 4-7 days a week” Yeah Kripp, we all have time for that :P seriously though, I’d say most adults have 1-2 hours of video game time per day (on average, maybe it’s not a lot during the week and 8 hours on the weekend, etc)
Probably a great video. Kripp's titles tend toward clickbaity, but they are generally solid. I didn't get past his first point about the "change in someone's life that they needed." Completely true. Before this game I didn't have anything to do on the toilet but read the news, and that was just straight up depressing.
"The change in someone's life that they need". So melodramatic. But TRUE! I got into Hearthstone almost completely randomly in December 2014. I didn't know WoW at all, and I hadn't followed Blizzard since WarCraft III, D2 and Starcraft 1. I saw it in a magazine and just thought: I know Blizzard make great games, maybe I'll try it because it's free. Why not? That turned out to be the best decision ever. I wouldn't have spent the amount of money that I have, but I often think to myself how lucky it was that I saw that one page article and decided to try it. It has enriched my life so much! I've played HS continually since 2014 and only missed two daily quests in all that time. I've never played any single game even approaching that length of time. As a lifelong hardcore gamer since the NES era with over 2000 games in my collection, I believe it speaks volumes when I say that no individual game has ever meant this much to me. Not even close.
As a F2P player with more than 3 years of expirience I have introduced a lot of friends to Hearthstone. Thank you Kripp for making this video to save me form repeating the same things over and over again.
Here’s my experience as someone who was actually free to play for 2 years, and started back in GvG: the best way to do this game is accept that you will spend money, but you don’t need to spend a lot. Do all your quests, and re-roll to get quests that give more gold. Win tavern brawl every week. Get all the discount specials, except the expansion pre-orders. Get the new player bundles. With just those you can benefit a lot from this game. But I swear, don’t craft anything until you are a month in. Otherwise you will waste dust.
On the Chicken above the sack of gold. Wait uhh... sorry, my evil twin is starting to influence me a bit much now. Of course it's on BLINGTRON. (That's its name right, Blingtron? Yeah it's gotta be.)
i have started playing about half an year ago and i am very passionate towards this game. i do not know if i am considered as new player or not, but i will share my experience. i once reset my hearthstone progress and started with new account because i thought i made big mistakes and wasted lot of dust while crafting and disenchanting. now, as free to play player, i was not able to build competitive deck to hit legend. i have been struggling a lot, and then i got tired of not getting through rank 19 of standard and crafted wild deck of odd paladin and i got to rank 12, that is where i am now. i know some of you guys hate aggro, but i want to win. in arena, most i have won is 5 games and i do not use deck tracker or hearth arena. i am kind of satisfied with that result. i got to final part of lethal puzzle section without any help of internet, but i have not solved fourth, the very last puzzle of last lethal section yet. i am satisfied with that as well. i do enjoy playing dungeon run as well and i think it was such a cool idea to introduce them. other than that, i was so eager to beat lich king that i crafted mecha'thun, killed lich king several times with druid only, by the way, i once killed him before equipping frostmoure which was very satisfying and then i disenchanted mecha'thun because i needed dust for odd paladin and also, i will craft him later or maybe years later if i need to. that is my experience since i started playing hearthstone. i want to tell you this if you are new player: be mindful about what you craft and disenchant. and also, kripp, i am glad that you are trying to help others with your guides and keep whole community entertained with your gameplay. your and rania's work are truly great. rania, we are not forgetting you. you are an amazing editor. whoever has read this, i appreciate that you took your time to do so. have a nice day and wish you the best. and remember: yes, some aggro players like me are not total braindead assholes.
One thing that Blizzard did very badly with the solo adventures is that it is impossible to ever play them if they rotated to wild before you started playing the game. Therefore players who start playing now will never be able to play solo adventures published before Frozen Throne.

Honestly if you get good at arena constructed should be pretty easy. Arena teaches you quite a bit of prediction and what the "right" play is and doing so is much easier in standard. Also if you consistently place 7+ wins you can keep playing arena as you get the gold right back and can easily get dust.
I would recommend F2P players not to buy *any* classic packs. They will come along the way, and you are just better spending gold on other packs. For me, the downside of arena was that it took a long time + you usually only get the latest expansion. And it's not always the best... Another experience of mine, that you should start crafting with a win condition. Baku and Genn are perfect, but Maligos is decent too. If you have the win condition, the rest of the deck can be from basic cards and upgrade as you go on.
Hey krip I got a serious question. I've got a bunch of legendaries from the 10 pack thing. Should I disenchanted them for a meta deck? I'm struggling hard to find a good deck since I haven't disenchanted anything

New player guide: don't start, honestly as a monthly legend player speaking. Looking back I've invested so much time into a game that hasn't changed much at all. There's only three real game modes. I dont consider wild a game mode. There is no real f2p experience unless you farm 100 gold per day. Even playing aggro, that takes at least 4 hours a day. The game has gone no where in years. Here to inform, Blizzard confirmed that, there is no law that sais you get a legendary every 40 packs, thats purely on luck. (Legendary in first 10 packs is true tho.)
I made a new account so i could play a bit seriously and i noticed that casual mode doesn't exist. I think it's fine bc i remember people literally playing p2w or veterans beating me. Sure i won once or twice with default classes
Why not mention wizbang? You can get 1600 in like a day i did it for my daugters account, wizbang is a great craft for new players expecally at rank 50
Never ever buy card packs... Do quests and use gold for arena, watch some arena guide videos first of course. You get at least 1 pack every arena run, Arena is not pay to win, you have the same chance as everyone else building a good deck. Also if starting out in play mode just play casual so you never go past level 25 until your ready, you will get more wins and more gold this way.
don't craft anything until you know what you're crafting towards if you spend any money at all get the welcome bundle understand hearthstone's yearly rotation learn the good cards from the bad unless you have lots of money to burn - focus on Classic, witchwood, and boomsday packs, alternating after you open a legend Go with God
I opened 30 kobold and catacombs packs without a legendary since the boomsday Project is there. So the fact that the first 10 packs will guarantee you a legendary is with my experience just not true.
Think he is talking about the starter pack which comes with a guaranteed class legendary on top of the packs. Trouble really is that most of the original class legendaries haven't been relevant for years.
Kripp unfortunately failed to mention that if you want to play against other people(non solo modes/tavern brawl/arena if you have 150 gold per day) or go essentially upwards on the ladder past rank 15 or so, as a BRAND NEW PLAYER- you need to dump HUNDREDS of dollars into hearthstone to get the required legendaries, epic classic cards, etc etc- you'll quite literally have to pour in more than 4-5 hours a DAY if you want to not pay money for years to get all of the required cards for even remotely competitive decks- and even then, new expansions will come out and then you are forced to buy those. It's a cycle. If you miss an expansion, you are FUCKED. Tell me i'm even a little wrong.
I'm f2p and reached legend with 2-3 games a day until i started climbing. Just keep farming dust and craft a strong deck. When the next expansion comes, the decks don't usually change much, just 1-2 new cards in the deck. Druid/Priest/Hunter are good for that. Still, I recommend simply not starting hearthstone.

Better Guide: Just craft Wizbang as soon as you can and enjoy the premade templates until you get enough cards and dust to make your own deck.
Pepega Hey how's going Crap Aryan here! (That's what the CC read it as.)
He said “idk if you watch this 6 months late then some of these will change” 😯 he predicted it..........
Most tavern brawls are really fun Omegalul what a filthy lie

You can actually make a really good deck at the start if you get 1400 I was able to make token druid right of the bat.
Are you the one I've been farming on my new zoolock?
Rob probably not I've only came across maybe 4-5 zoolock decks
What no magma rager advice, 5 whole damage for 3 mana, totally didn't get baited in my early days x)
It is true its not like a rumor blizzard themsefls announced it..
