How to remove a mk4 Golf Gti Sunroof And Cover (EASY WAY)

heres how to remove a mk4 golf sunroof and interior lid without removing the roof liner, may be the same for similar models cars of the same year bracket like jettas.

Excellent explanation and video documentation. A few lessons learned:
1. One of the three bolts on each side has a larger washer than the other two. Remember where it goes.
2. use some light lube to lubricate the rails while you have the roof off
3. now is a good time to clean the sunroof drain lines in the front corners. Use 5 or 6 feet of weed whacker line and push through. If the line gets caught up you might have to remove the A pillar covers and unclip the drain line to allow the weedwhacker line to push past all the way.

Thanks, my guys!!! This was very helpful and easy to do. Might it had if off like in 10 minutes or less. I had to re upholstery my sun blocker after doing the entire top and all 6 pillars

A accidentally turn the sun roof when it was off now it doesn't want to come back out

Think that may have happened to me also, but too long ago to remember, think i might have tried to lift the black rails up with a coat hanger or something, not too sure sorry

@@kyswalter6042 have done now but thanks it was just the thing the sunroof sits on the it keep getting stuck on roof
