Hello, I am a Canadian Citizen, I am trying to sponsor my mother and have some questions (I have recieved an invitation to apply) - If I sponsored my husband and his not accompanying dependent child and he got his PR in June 23rd 2018 (over 3 years ago) would he count as a current undertaking? He applied for his citizenship and is waiting for it to be approved. Also, would his non-accompanying dependant child need to be counted in 6. of my IMM5768 form, even if he is the one financially supporting her?

For question number 5, the form says provide details on the back of this page if they are not co-signing the undertaking. What info are they looking for?

I really like what you’re doing here to help others. I have watched many of your videos to clarify some confusion that IRcc papers has .However in this video about undertaking , there is different time limit of undertaking for different sponsorships not until they become citizens
Lets say a father sponsored a child and the father responsible for three years of financial responsibility for the child ,the undertaking will expire at the end of three years and for different scenario (wife, refugee, parents grandparents for 20yrs) different time.Could you please take look it this part and give us the right or update info
Myself and my wife became permanent resident through Canadian experience class and we both were in Canada. I was the primary applicant and my wife was my dependent. Does she considered as Previous undertakings? or only those who became permanent resident through a sponsorship are considered as undertaking. Please advise.

Quick question: This year both my wife and I received invitation for sponsoring our parents and both of us are applying for our parents. I don’t need a co-signer, however, my wife needs me to be co-signer for her application. So, I don’t know if I need to include two persons in the section B ( iv) in the Financial Evaluation (imm 5768 ) considering that both applications will be submitted at the same time this year: “Number of persons included in previous undertaking you co-signed, where these undertakings are not yet in effect"… If so, I would need my wife to be as co-signer on my file as well. Can we both be co-signer for each other? and how many persona should we consider on each application?

Hello, me & my wife both got the invitation for our parents in 2021. I am sponsoring my mom & dad. My wife sponsoring her mom. We will be the co-signer for both applications. So, do I need to include my mother-in-law in the total number of family? Same for my wife application, does she need to include my mom & dad in the total number of family? Please advise, if I need to add in which section I will add.

Thanks for the detail video. How do you get the financial form to add the number of people automatically? I opened it, saved it, and still the top and bottom boxes are not editable.
The top box is always going to be one (not editable)
Bottom one will calculate the total (so not editable)
If the form doesn’t add up the total after entering family size and pressing enter, try downloading the form again

Your videos are very informative. My parents are applying for PR of Canada and the question is regarding the dependant child. I am the sponsor living in Canada and my elder brother is in USA both above the age of 22 and technically not dependant on parents. Can you please define what a dependant child means? Just FYI- I am married and he is not.
if you look up dependent child under ircc website, there is a specific section that explains that in detail. pretty easy to find. just google dependent child canada
hi there, i am a little bit confused as I added my spouse in SINP application of mine as a dependent and she got her PR status on 2017 while I was getting it on the same time. now she is able to apply for her citizenship but we couldn't have a chance to apply yet. and my daughter is born recently on April 30th,2021 so how I need to fill IMM 5768 form for correct family size .should I need to consider my daughter in my family size from 2018 to 2020.? should I need to look after the income requirement according 5 family size or 4 family size as I am sponsoring my parents ( 2 persons). please help me out in this case of scenario.

You can select the undertaking depending upon whether or not either of you co-signed the application for each other's parents.

Lady is sponsoring her mom only. she is divorce and now with common law partner that will co signing the application. these common law partner is divorce with 1 son. so how can I count? hope u can help.

so, you count yourself, your partner, your mom, your ex (if you are financially responsible for them), your common law partner's ex(if they are financially responsible for their ex) and your common law partner's son(if they are dependent)
what if you're married (spouse not canadian or PR) and you are sponsoring your parents before your spouse, then I should include spouse in number 5?
I have confusion about counting family members and populating the form.this year me and my wife both got invitation and we are willing to sponser both the parents (for each of us) and will be co signings each other application.we are already family of 3 all canadian citizens so total family members are 7 (3+2+2).how to fill that up in the form?

How does it work when i have been separated from my ex common in law for 5 months now. I just received my invitation to apply to sponsor my dad. Obviously my ex will not be my co-signer, but how does it work with relation to the last 3 taxation years? She was consider part of my family back then... Do I need to account for her (as she was part of the 3 previous years of tax) or not?

Regarding Form IMM5768, Financial Evaluation - me and spouse got invited to sponsor our parents (total of 4 to sponsor + 2 kids of our own) if my husband will be my co-signer, is it considered that he has a current undertaking now? Or not yet until we official submit his application? The current question now in this form are all “previous undertaking” Thank you
I am in a similar dilemma, both myself and my wife received the ITA for each of our parents (Mom and Dad). We have an infant as well. Not sure if the family size will be 7 or 5 since we are applying both applications together and co-signing as well. Did you get any direction from anyone?

How to digitally sign this document (imm5768e)? it does'nt give me that option like imm1344e to sign digitally.
My parents have a lot of assets overseas (savings and property). The value of their assets is 10 times my income. Do you think it will help or harm the application to provide their proof of assets? I’m questioning it because I’m wondering if the assets show ties to their home country when their intention is to sell everything and move here. I would like to add it to show that in addition to my income, they have their own assets to support themselves. Thoughts?
it will not harm the application to provide proof of assets. Provide all details to make a clear case and you should be fine

if income criteria is not met, then chances of rejection are high.

Once you enter all numbers and press ENTER, it should calculate. Try downloading the latest form again and see if it works.

you can use the passport. but then, provide the letter of explanation about name change for married name

I have below scenario for which I need help to fill-out IMM 5768 form for me and my spouse.
- I have got invitation and I am inviting my Mother, My sister (Mother's dependent child), Grandmother. My wife is co-signer
- My wife has got invitation and she is inviting her Father and Mother. I am co-signing.
- I added my wife in my PR application in Year 2017. We both have status "PR".
Question1: How should we fill Question. 3. A) Current Undertaking, Question. B) Previous Undertaking, Question. 4, Question. 5, Question. 6 and Question. 7 (Total number of persons for the purpose of determining your minimum necessary income) in IMM 5768 for my and her application?
Question2: Do I need to fill-out two IMM 5768? one for my mother's file and another one for my Grandmother's file?
Question3: What should I put in Family size in Question. 14 and Question. 17? As Its only me and my wife currently living in Canada?

I have explained a 7 people scenario in the video. That should help you understand the logic that you can apply in your situation.
Hello, I have watched all your videos, they’re really informative, I am applying for my mother and father, we had a daughter before, so our family size was 5 until 2021. Now we have another daughter who is born in August 2021. When I am including her in, then our family size becomes 6 but for 2018, 2019 & 2020 I have family size 5. What should I wrote here?
so, assuming to received invitation to apply in 2021,
for tax year 2018, 2019 and 2020 your family size was 5 so income requirements must be for 5 people for those years. That said, IRCC can request information about your current family size any time during the processing of the application. So, its advisable to maintain income for 6 people.
So, when you fill out form 5768, your family size should be 6(box 7), even though you only need to meet income req for 5 people for 2018-2020 for sponsoring.
towards the end, you can provide a letter of explanation where you provide an explanation about the addition in the family in 2021, just to be safe

Employee in Electricity Department , does this get counted as a civil servant position in question 10? For IMM 0008, I don’t know my grandparents date of birth, what should I enter there? Can I just put * in that column?
@@jasspannu1159 technically it is government work. But I did not find any clear instructions as to what classifies as governments work(other than what is already in the form). So unfortunately, I cannot give you a definite answer.
That said, I think, it wouldn’t hurt to list as long as all your supporting documents are in place.
As far as the date of birth is concerned, here’s what I found on the IRCC page
“If you don’t know the complete date, or if it’s in the 1800s, enter 1900 in the space for the unknown year, and 01 for the month or day. This will let you validate the form.
You should also attach a letter of explanation that says why you don’t have the information needed to fill in the complete date.””

Based on the instructions, I would say it is a risk, so chances of rejection are high.

so, for sponsoring parents, only spouse or common law partner can be a co-signer. Sibling can not be.
