Big tank to paint. What did you use for paint and did it adhere? I'd hate to spray paint that much. I have a 1650 gal tank I need to paint. Sherwin Williams is telling me due to poly I'd have to try this Extreme Bond Primer that is very expensive. They said paint a 2' square with it and come back a week later and see if it sticks. I don't feel like spending $500 painting this tank that I bought for $390. Thank you.
I just used rattle cans from our hardware store. It held up decent. I think if you roughed up the surface and then bought a primer that would adhere you could roll it on.
It will if the rain is hitting the blind just right. But it will just run down the door so it’s not to bad. Thanks for the feedback! Thanks for watching!
About how tall and wide is this tank i mainly bow hunt here in IL wondering about limb clearance if maybe i should look for a taller tank or cut the bottom out of the tank and use treated 4x4s to raise it up a cpl feet and use something to make a skirt like system on the bottom
Big Bidness Outdoors ok thank you very much sometimes the cameras make things look smaller but thanks again i rly enjoy your videos and projects you do great work
Just picked up my 1000 gallon tank. Any chance you remember what brand primer and paint you used and what spray foam for windows? I'm looking to make exactly what you've got. I've got Menards here if that is where you bought it.
Br Wer I just bought a cheap primer that adheres to plastic. Then just a black paint for the interior. Rattle cans for the exterior that adheres to plastic. For the window foam I used minimal expanding window foam, blue can. Good luck! Let me know if you need anything else.
Yes, I bought my windows from lowes. I cut off the front of the j-channel and screwed them into the pvc frames i made from inside. My frames where made to the curve of the tank so that the windows recessed into the tank ....it allows water to drip off.
Very nice. I did mine about 2 years ago. It was a 1500 gallon black tank. I made window frames and recessed the windows. i noticed mine got really hot so I put It on a stand 4ft stand and cut 4 holes in the floor and put screen over them. i also put a vent in the roof. This aloud me to cool it by convection cooling
nc0344 That’s a great idea. I could see were it gets really warm. I usually hunt this blind in January in Iowa so it’s pretty cold at that time. I will definitely keep your ideas in mind! Good Luck to you!

Bet it worked great!
Did it leak around the top of the door in the rain? That was the only thing that I could think of to improve upon.

kyle watson The tank is around 5’ tall. You can shoot a bow in this tank. The tank is 6.5’ across.

Cool build be neat to have a source of the tanks vs lucky find. Just have to work or know someone who discards them. IBC are wanted & go up in $$
Man that is the best by far! Awesome blind
Mike Clark Thank You! Good Luck to you!
I like the trailer blind also! Definitely something different
Same to you this season.
So how big of tank and is that big enough to shoot a bow for archery season
railroad and outdoor enthusiast Thanks For watching. If you had a short bow you could probably shoot out of this tank. The problem is height.
That is a good looking blind
David Howard Thank You! Thanks for watching!
Great Video. Can you tell me where you bought the windows from?
Br Wer Hey Thank You! Bought them at Menards.

What’s the weighed of the tank completed
Ron Thibeau I’m not exactly sure. Two guys move it real easy.
What size is that tank?? How many gallons?
dgott7726 That is a 2000 gallon tank cut in half.
Nice looking blind and way to involve the kids, they'll be talking about helping Dad paint his blind for awhile - great work...
Jason Hey Thank You! Yes they loved that project! Thanks for watching!

Depends on what I’m building. This type of blind I’m not worried about finesse. Thanks for watching!
