Nah bro 3ghz is shit for gaming, an gtx 1050 ti is even to good for this cpu .
@@KaasDragon for the first time I have just looked at the specs and this is an unlocked cpu so you could overclock to maybe 4ghz or 4.3ghz

These things were built to be overclocked. I've tested quite a few and they all reach at least 4.5ghz. In games its not far off from my 11700k paired with a 3070
it does amazingly with my 3060 Ti at 4.5ghz. Will keep running it until it dies. Fantastic hardware!
Considering my i7 4790k is still running strong I bet it's doing even better

The performance is identical to r7 1700x or I5 10400f, but it might be lacking some features such as rezisable bar. (Btw I'm still using haswell-E, just a different cpu)
This thing stomps at 3700x and goes toe to toe with a 5800x in gaming. The 20mb of L3 cache and quad channel memory really stretches it's legs all these years later
since my i7-4770 still holds up really good, I think the 5960X will be the same, if not way better than the 4770

Yeah that was a great 6 core cpu when it was released and was the best way to unlock a lot of the cool x99 features at a lower price
I think it may hold nicely, considering that my Xeon E3-1245(lga 1155) allows me to play(paired with 32GB DDR3 and a 6500xt) games like Elite Dangerous Odyssey, 7dtd or Medieval Dynasty at 50-60fps at 1080 Mid👍
Yeah I agree, especially if that is able to hold up nicely today. Also I was surprised how cheap these CPUs are now compared to their MSRP but the motherboards are still very expensive.

I have Xeon e5-2620 v3 6c/12t. Well you won't feel any difference with new pc if you are not using it for heavy games and work. 850 single core in geek bench. It is fine for maximum GPU like rx590 or rtx 3050.
It might do ok for gaming today, but in CPU task, it's going to show some age. Also will start to become outdated within the next year or so. I've gamed on old hardware plenty of times. Infact, I had a GTX 660 and Core 2 Quad Q6600 OC'd to 3.2Ghz in 2015. I'd spend a tad more and go with something that's a bit faster and has better support though. It's the heart of your system and if you have the budget, get as much longevity out of that hardware as you can.

Video idea put a computer in a freezer
if youre thibking this because of cooling it wouldn't work well.
MrYeester already did this experiment and this was his result.
He put a full test bench within a freezer, without even running applications, the computer overheat and items wothin the freezer were no longer cold. Why?
The freezer doesn't constantly stay cold.
It's fan is on and off, so it can constantly stay a certain temperature. Most people having that certain temperature at 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
As for the computer, it it going to stay warm the entire duration, so it pretty much overpowered the freezer's ability in terms of temperature.
Still holds well, i even still use core 2 quad as my pc, well for gpu is sucks... cuz i need to wait 1-2 days delivery.
And im upgrading my gpu fro Quadro NVS310 to Radeon HD8490..
That setup is ancient. What are you doing with it? Did you get the Radeon card for free? It's a decade old
