    Hi I’m in an MC3 pre apprenticeship program. Looking to get into an OE3 inspector apprenticeship. For the ASVAB did it include just the basic math/reading/paragraph comprehension or was it the full ASVAB (electrical/mechanical/etc.)? I’ve been studying but can’t find any info on the actual test. Thanks!

    • @successchasingseries7887
      @successchasingseries7887  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good question. It was basic math, vocabulary, reading comprehension and spatial reasoning…you can go on Amazon and order a spatial reasoning practice test book and get more familiar with it. I believe Barons is the publisher of the book I ordered. It’s also a good idea to just call up OE3 and ask them what will be on the test and if they know any good resources that can help prepare you. Good look Bro.

    Is the CP-1 37th Edition the same as the CP-1 38th Edition?

    • @successchasingseries7887
      @successchasingseries7887  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well the 38th is just the updated and latest version available. There may be some minor changes in the language but I haven’t taken a look at the 38th so I can’t say for sure. I have a friend who just passed his ACI test a month ago using the 37th edition.

    I got accepted into the apprenticeship. What paperwork is sent to me? Is that by mail or email? I have mandatory training. What does that schedule look like?

    • @successchasingseries7887
      @successchasingseries7887  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Congrats. I can’t recall what paper is sent but I’m sure it’s some stuff from the Union…you’ll definitely be getting a lot of info in the next few months. Main thing is just keep an eye out for emails and regular mail to make sure you don’t miss any important announcements…announcements are typically through email. Mandatory training is 730-4pm Monday through Friday for 4 weeks through Zoom Video…unpaid. So set your self up financially to be prepared!

    how was the interview? would u say that without a certificate and without any experience, it would be difficult to convince the panel to take you as an apprentice?

    • @successchasingseries7887
      @successchasingseries7887  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I think it would be difficult without the cert. or experience. There are a lot of guys applying with no experience. You don’t want to be part of that crowd. The certification is the ticket in. It’s not hard to get though...most guys think it’s hard so they don’t even try. Give yourself 6 months just familiarize yourself with the material (follow every step I give) and you’d be ok. Trust me.

    • @successchasingseries7887
      @successchasingseries7887  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Really good question. Not 100% sure to be honest. I’d assume that if a college offers an ACI certification or an ICC(international Code Council) certification in this field you’d be fine. I’m not sure what colleges offer these courses though. SICerts actually has courses for this field. It’s expensive but they do a good job of preparing you for the the ICC certification exams. SICerts doesn’t offer any courses for the ACI certification though. Also, SICerts is non -accredited if that matters to you...they just prepare you for ICC exams.
      Pay in California starts at $27+ per hour as an entry level apprentice and journeyman pay is $50+ per hour

    • @successchasingseries7887
      @successchasingseries7887  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I didn’t take any college course to become an inspector. I took the ACI concrete field tech 1 cert on my own, before I got accepted into the apprenticeship and hired by an employer. After getting accepted into apprenticeship and hired by an employer I then acquired two ICC certs. The training I received for my ICC certs came from an online training class which is offered by SICerts.com...they offer training for pretty much any ACI and ICC cert. in the constructor inspector field. Their classes are expensive but but my employer paid for it. Your apprenticeship should train for all these certs, as does mine apprenticeship program but my employer encouraged me to acquire certs on my own bc the apprenticeship moves at slower pace when it comes the training.

      In my opinion, the ICC exams are harder and you will need some type of training. I would not take without some type of training. The books you will need to study from for the ICC exams are very expensive as well. I’d hold off on getting any ICC certs until you either get hired by an employer or accepted into an apprenticeship that way you won’t have to pay for everything on your own. You can get the ACI field tech 1 cert on your own without training but it’s still a little expensive....I’d follow every step I laid out in my video to best prepare yourself for the ACI field tech 1 cert...order book early and watch the JamesLee TH-cam channel. Another cert you can acquire without formal training is the nuclear gauge safety/hazmat cert. no book required
