Joe - I’ve been subscribed to your channel for quite a while and just wanted to drop a note to say how helpful your content has been to me numerous times in upgrades and maintenance. Your videos show how you did something in pretty good detail which is different from most of the other channels which say they upgraded their rig with whatever, show a pic of the completed project and then a short run video. Yours show how you got there, problems you ran into and was it a worthwhile mod. I’ve heard you say many times that ‘this mod’ is so simple that you aren’t even sure it justifies a video - well many of those simple videos have saved me a lot of time and pain. Just wanted to say thanks.

Brass on all 4 corners and trx4 shocks works amazing for me, i kept up with a capra at my local coarse!

I did the same thing with hair ties and electrical loop connectors. Took about 8 bucks for 4. I am testing them against pen-spring shock modifications.

The benefit I see in using a bungie over a small spring under the shock piston is when you put a spring inside the shock(we have several rigs running this type of droop-suspension)is you lose about a 1/4 to 1/3 of you shock travel because the internal shock doesn’t compress to nothing...it takes-up room.

yeah for sure, but not everything works out but sometimes I get to show what not to do lol I think this would work better if there were some springs on it so it would work with the bungee a bit better like the other trucks
I just added rubber bands, like you showed in another video. That made a world of a difference. And I added 1000cst shock oil. So the wheels don't drop freely in cracks, that improved the sidehilling and climbing angle by a million times.
I think if you would give it more tension in the front it would climb much better
so super thick oil would help on this? I think I have some 1K diff oil.
@@ExocagedRC for me it worked very well. It stops the suspension to expand to fast. It doesn't roll over that quick anymore and in climbs it keeps the nose down a little longer. Maybe you can give it a try. It's an easy upgrade. Would be interesting to see your opinion on this.

In just a year we moved up to using a servo to suck up the axles lol.

I use 4 hair bungies on my trx 4 sport, the difference is night and day. If you like hard rock crawling, slam it!
Use ouchless hair elastics then you can put them on all 4 corners right at each shock
That's pointless, you then lose articulation. It needs to be in the center of the chassis and axles. He's crawling not setting up droop for speed runs.
With the crackodoom, have you tried to go for a bit higher line, as close as you can get to the yellow line. With your new yellow truck

@@ExocagedRC oh thanks for the fast reply! I have my redcat gen8 with longer travel shocks and i kinda wanna do this. The shocks are so long the front axle moves side to side a lot so i wanna limit it.

yes I have, on several of the older trucks I sorta did that with sheetmetal sliders and it worked. This one has no sliders at all so I may like it better as time goes on.

Would that transmission mount fit a gen7 ya think?
100% Droop is awful. When the vehicle is the least stable like while flexing it's center of gravity ramps up rather than compresses down to a more stable position. Plus no dampening.
mnsterbruiser yep i hate 100 droop. It also looks unrealistic
Why dont you just try the pen spring mod like with the capra.
thats a good one and may be needed for this, my only issue is the capra needs less travel but this needs full travel so the pen springs inside the shocks reduce travel. So it works on the Capra. This droop stuff is a bit different than what I'm used to.
@@ExocagedRC guess more trial and error with fun along the way. Keep the good work up, ive been inspired and building a gspeed lcg rig now myself and my backyard crawler course too.

Pen spring mod works better and looks better
I think that if the front steering and panhard allowed for clearance, I would raise the top shock mounting position to lower further and then install springs to achieve desired ride height. Not a fan of droop at all.
