There is a reason why they're called Ace magnets

At 1-2NL, you always want try make the third preflop raise with pocket kings. If you get four bet jammed after it, you are 100% facing pocket aces.

Went to the carpark after getting my KK all in pre last nigh. Ran into Q8o which smashed me with a boat. =) But meh, it happens, I still love KK.

Hey James love this channel and just got your preflop workbook and can't wait to get into it.
Will you be doing any more hand analysis vids with Chris at some point? I enjoyed both of your perspectives on them. Thanks

The way I see it, if you stop fearing the ace on the flop while you have pocket kings, that is a sign you are properly bankroll to play at the stakes you are playing when it comes to cash games.
I tend to strike fear into opponents who could have an ace but aren't willing to call with that Ax against my kings. It boils down to how you play those kings.

Looking to confirm, if you play the KK aggressively on the flop as an overpair and the A gets there on the turn I agree in slowing down....but to make this work you need to do the same with your AK, AQ, AJ sometimes. Otherwise, they'll likely not let you get away for free on the river with A-rag, or blast the pot with air...especially if any other draw gets there on the river. If they know you'll occasionally check back top pair on the turn, doesn't that protect your checking range? Not sure the EV calcs on this...just seems a reasonable assumption.
And yes, congrats to you and Mrs. Suit on your 3rd barrel

Do you check alot in a 3bet and 4 bet pot when there is a ace on the flop?

The main problem with KK in 4 or 5bet pots is that it blocks the exact hand you want to be up against, which is AK

    • @MrNicePotato
      @MrNicePotato 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

That's not a "problem". Of course you are blocking the hands you dominate. That's why you dominate them. Everytime you bet you are closing in your opponent's range. You need to also consider that you are getting most AQ AJ to fold and you can immediately take the pot without risking seeing an A. This is not a bad thing as you deny them realising their 29% equity. Or better yet, they call into it, catch a Q or J and you can fire away. If you are afraid of 4 betting with KK, that leaves your 4 betting range with only AA. This is way too nitty. You would then lose out on value when you have AA and a nit with KK/AK folds to you. In a casual game I simply always 4 bet or 5 bet shove along with AK and AA.

@@MrNicePotato of course you do 4bet KK. I have folded KK preflop twice and I was right both times. Action went, I open raise early position, and action goes 3bet, 4bet, 5bet, 6bet jam from 4 players behind me. Of course one of them has Aces 😂

    Hi
Can you do a video on range reduction process
Utg vs utg+1 3b (because there’s less combos)
    Using layman’s language
All massive draws start building on xyz flop
All tptk start building on dry xyz flop
    If 3bettor didn’t it’s removed…
I’m micro stakes only due to bank roll want to move away from low end where money is meaningless.

if there is a high Hand promotion does that change how you play a flopped set?

    • @zekebones34

For me it depends. If I’m playing 2-5 and the high hand is $200, I’ll make more money playing the hand for stacks. If I’m playing 1-2 and the high hand is $500+ and all my opponents are short stacked I’ll probably try and hit it

Last time I went to battle with Kings in a casino I caught the third king on the river. Busted aces with about $2000 + in the pot. Dude slow played me calling the entire time until the river. He actually started crying and left with his mousy looking girlfriend with green hair and a face covered in tats and piercings. I mean what did he think I had when the king showed its face on the river and I reraise him for 800?

This is great content but please SLOW DOWN!!! Your rate of speech is like you are the FEDEX fast talking commercial guy from years ago. Almost like you are being charged for the length of the amount of time of your video. SLOW DOWN, review your video and start consciously speak slower.
