Hey Seth, it's Scott, Race Director of the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon sharing the start line spot with you. So sorry that I had not heard of your channel yesterday but you were super polite, super chill and now that I see this video, super talented. I'm now a subscriber and thank you for sharing your talent. The race was the spectacle I had hoped for and now that I ran through the streets today, I have SO MUCH (more) appreciation for what the athletes dealt with yesterday. Those hills are never ending and they were eating them up with gale force winds. So happy to have been witness to the party and to have met you.
Nice. The whole beginning was great. It is what NBC coverage should have been. The drama, zooming in on the key players, Rupp sitting and saving himself, then standing for the national anthem. They showed more closeups of the alphaflys and the three announcers than any of that. Every other sport broadcast shows the athletes gearing up, the anthem. They would never cut away to show the Gatorade being mixed.
NBC yes, could have done better...I DID appreciate the splits bar on the right with list of runners...but seem to miss key moments by commercials and "booth shots or shoe blabber
I am new to running started about seven months ago. My son runs cross country and track. I could never connect to him because I played others sports growing up. I tried tell him things about having a mental toughness about running but I didn't run so I decided to do less talking and actively started running. I ran my first 5k trail run, then I ran a 10k, then I ran two half marathons and then ran 10k trail run, next Saturday I am doing a half marathon trail run. What I begin to notice my son is listening to more but what is helping me the most is learning about the running community. Video channels like this are so informative and inspirational and I am so glad to have found this channel and being a part of the running community. Keep up the great work.
Genuinely, you have by far the best running channel on TH-cam. The quality of your videos and edits day in day out is second to none! Don't often comment, but this is phenomenal. Thanks and keep it up!
The best part in your vlog was focus on the pregnant women running! Everyone focuses on who won, who finished on top spot but it is such fighting stories like that pregnant lady which makes us amateur runners keep going and get motivated 👍
@@MMABeijing what the fuck? strong woman = healthy woman = healthy child. Why the fuck shouldn't she run. It's not like she was standing in the ring. Ur pathetic
MJ Sharkey as a medical professional i see no general reason that would prevent a pregnant pro runner from safely finishing a marathon, of she feels like it. Sure, total exhaustion should be avoided. But that is not what we are talking about here.
The feeling from your video is much more REAL than the broadcast. Amazing to see how many fans on the course and how loud it was. Thanks for doing all this!
NBC did a poor job with the last 6 miles.. There was a second group 43-50 seconds bsck including Riley. A very BIG accomplishment for Jacob to catch and pass during those BRUTAL last miles. I guess they talked about it some after he caught the lead
Agree, NBC didn’t do well at all. I kept yelling at the TV. Needed more coverage of the actual running. They should’ve invested more money cameras and staff into it, especially given the size of the fields.
Rupp running that time on that course with those winds- very impressive. I watched all of NBC's coverage but the feed was often not nearly as clear as yours. NBC gave us the overhead/comprehensive viewing angles but not a single shot as good as yours. Top quality stuff, Seth. NBC should hire you to add some quality to their coverage.
Such an amazing race to watch! The beast women's runner who was pregnant is my new hero as a mom of five who ran through each pregnancy. Her doctor and she likely discussed it and her fitness level said it all. She was my favorite one to watch quite honestly. BEAST
wow! _AMAZING_ footage and capturing Seth. The format of the US olympic trials is great for a spectator and I wish more countries would follow. I was doing some filming also, bit different kind of race though at a 24hr ultra endurance indoor run here in Finland!
What a great shot of Rupp at 3:07 - zoning in - calm and focused- sitting on the start line. A class by himself. Great filming and editing, Seth. You nailed it!
Seth, once again thank you, thank you and 🙏🏽 you! You should know that I was thinking about this video during my sleep (Europe), I woke up and first thing I did was to check out if your video was already uploaded! Thank you for all your effort despite your cold, despite your new birth! Thank you for bringing all us runners closer and keeping the community tight! You are the best! 🌹🌹🌹✌🏼🏃🏽♂️

Thanks mate. Really appreciate your dedication for making quality videos for us to enjoy and be inpired by for free. The Nike Alphafly were in full flight hey, what a debut!
What a race!! The conditions were insane. The crowds were insane. The finishes! No one could've predicted that. You got some amazing shots and footage that really summed up the day. I was so happy to be in those crowds cheering for the best runners we got! 👏👏👏

You and the rest of contributors did an excellent job capturing all this footage. At first I though you got ALL that footage! But now that it makes sense. Thanks for sharing this experience. Well done!
Hi Seth, thank you so much for taking a shoot of the race. Very inspirational. Love running and such videos are pretty encouraging for us to run more a more and push our limits.
Omg your video shots are infinitely better than the national broadcast! When I pause it I can actually read the bibs, vs the televised version I couldnt read anything. Amazing stuff! Thanks for doing this!
Unreal, Seth. That video was great - really put us viewers in the thick of the action! Thanks for all your hard work. I can't imagine how difficult that must have been to fly in, film and fly out with all the obstacles you had to overcome. Bravo.
Seth, if you were amazed at the organization in Atlanta then you're going to have your mind blown @ an Olympics. Pity you couldn't get into the secured Village and the training areas to feel the 'athletic energy' in the air but even hanging around you'll be inspired by the human spirit of an Olympics which will make for some awesome video. I can't wait for your reports on that one.
Great job Seth, you captured the essence of the race. We were watching from a spot on Peachtree near the 1/9/17. The crowds were electric. Like you we dashed over to the finish area , 400 from the finish line. What a day !!
I went on a trail run with a local runner for the first time this morning and we were talking about podcasts and youtube channels. We both agreed that Seth's is our favourite because he does so much for the running community despite being the father of 4 and having a full time job. Appreciate it Seth !
Awesome job - thank you so much! Especially enjoyed Bernard Lagat at the start line. He obviously still feels the joy. Out of the six, I was correct on three.
Love it that when you watch any long distance running event broadcast it looks as if elite runners are on casual jog. Anyway congrats to top3 and great shots Seth.
Great footage and coverage Seth. The lens made for some great footage. Long day here in Australia watching stream from 4am Sunday morning Australian time before heading out for Sunday 2 hour long run. Being 43 years old myself was inspired for my run by Abdi at 43 making the US Olympic team.
Loved your clips! I got a much more exciting feel for the electricity of the crowd through your footage. I thought the network coverage of the event was very weak. Thanks to you and to "True Love" for holding down the fort while you were gone. Congratulations on the new addition!
Seth, I was thinking that you need a buddy to help out so one of you can run around, but you do an amazing job just by yourself. I was rooting for Des and Sarah Hall. They both ran well. Abdi was a surprise, a good surprise. I was rooting for Jim, of course. Bernard Legat not making it was a surprise. Jared or Scott not making it also a shock. Galen Rupp, no surprise. I knew that if he was healthy it would be Galen Rupp and then 2 and 3. I think that he has a great shot at gold this year. These are all great great athletes and I am proud of all of them. Thank you Seth. I am grateful to you.
Thanks for all the great images! Those top 2 women really teamed up to make it to Tokyo! Rupp is the best USA marathoner! Hope he make us proud in Tokyo!

A massive THANK YOU, Seth, for making this great video. So much effort and dedication! Every shot is so well thought out. The race went pretty much as I thought it would. I felt the favorites would all miss the team. While I think Rupp when healthy is a lock even he was a question mark with consistency.
