    Thank you so much! always the best advice and instructions. Really useful detail about the small gaps created through Chamfer and how to close themAnd very good explanation of the stone setting and arrangement.

    very good tutorial for basic bead setting. Any rule regarding the thickness of the prong depending on the diameter of the stone?

    Great video! thanks a lot. I had a question, is there anything you would do differently to the stone settings(apart from removing the actual stone) if you were 3D printing this model and then setting the stones after casting?

    • @PJChenJewelryDesign
      @PJChenJewelryDesign  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no. just remove the stones. boolean union all the parts and export it into stl file for 3D printing

      I cannot tell without seeing the model. maybe you want to check your trimming object to see if they are intersect?

      If I started from lines only command and start make them into a cross, it changed my mind to this tutorial. If you don't mind making another tutorial for it, I am glad to hear from you

    Hey, i have a question on how to turn a drawing into a 3D object.
    I am making a custom pendant for a friend using Rhino 6 and i started the process by taking their company logo and using the "Control Point Curve" tool. All has went great so far and i have the flat 2D image finished. The next step was to make this into a 6mm thick 3D object. I attempted to do this by highlighting the stuff drawn and the selected "Solid > Extrude Planar Curve > Straight" and then proceeded to make it 6mm thick.
    It looked good from the side profile but from the top view, most of the sections on the design were not filled but some of the sections were.
    Is there something I might have messed up on that is preventing me from doing this correctly?
    Heres an image of what I mean: imgur.com/a/Yb1pkB9
    Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

      check on your curves. all the curve MUST be closed curve.

      @@PJChenJewelryDesign The A in the centre was made from using a premade font and using its objecitve control points to make it like the desired design and i have managed to get that to work as intended now but the crown itself is still not able to be made into a 3D object.
      I will try to draw it up again as i cant seem to get the curves to join and be extruded to the correct thickness.
      I am still extremely new to this software so im not quite as ontop of this as I should be :(
