  • Chepstow's HM Coastguard Search and Rescue Team are seen responding through Penarth to a high risk missing persons call on Barry Island after being on Covid-19 Patrol in Cardiff City Centre. Other Coastguard Rescue Teams from Penarth, Barry, and Llantwit Major were also called out, alongside the Police and Ambulance Services. The person was located safely. Also included in the compilation are other videos of Police cars responding from South Wales Police, Ambulances of the Welsh Ambulance Service, and Fire Engines Responding from the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
    Thank you to the Coastguard Officers who were kind enough to come over and have a chat with me👍
    Thanks for watching!

    When I first started in the job, I was stationary at red ATS on a major crossroads.
    I saw a HMCG 4x4 responding in my wing mirror, so being the helpful soul I am, I activated my vehicles emergency lighting, pulled forward and held the traffic at the junction, only for the HMCG vehicle to just stop at the red ATS and deactivate it's kit.
    To say my tutor was a little unimpressed, and demanded I brush up on my Road Vehicle Lighting Regs '89 was an understatement... Whoops!
    Great catch buddy! Love the follow footage 👍🚑

      Yup, thought I was the literal embodiment of "partnership collaboration" and a shining example to others among the wider Blue Light family, but instead I just looked like a complete and utter Twat.

      HMCG are not allowed to pass red lights, exceed the speed limit or go right of keep left signs.
      They basically have the same rights as a doctor responding on green lights.
      I’ve been in the police and HMCG it would be better to remove blue lights from the HMCG.

      @@Adepalady999 Nah, give all blue light vehicles the same rights and exemptions. Literally, you can only claim all blue light exemptions, IF you are the Fire Brigade, Ambulance Service, Military special forces, National Crime Agency, or Police. So said Wikipedia (which pisses me off). If you're anyone else, you can either have limited blue light exemptions, or not at all.

    Another great video 👍. FYI the light bars on the Police vehicles have a blue centre section that’s constantly on when the light bar is in use. This is used to show when they are speeding through and activate a speed camera on the camera taken image that they can see the vehicle was on a 999 call and not prosecute the Police driver for unnecessary speeding.

    • @bcarlo2433
      @bcarlo2433 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      RNLI Provide the lifeguard service at the majority of UK beaches, some are council run. HM Coastguard is the 4th UK emergency service so will always provide a SAR service, HMCG have been non stop the last few weeks with the lockdown easing up.

      Correct. You can either have all exemptions, if you are the National Crime Agency, Military Special Forces, Ambulance Service, Fire Brigade, or Police. Everyone else can either have few or no exemptions, which ticks me off.

      They don't claim exemptions from traffic laws, they just use emergency equipment to aid progress.
