    Love your videos, you get down to the real world usage.
    I go hiking with my family and friends, the base camp has some solar power stations and recently upgraded the panels to the Ecoflow series. Very impressed how they hold up.

    Thanks for the review on the 160W panels from Ecoflow. It's good to see that you can use these panels on any power station that has an MC4 connector.

    • @SirCampalotOutdoors
      @SirCampalotOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are also adapters that changes from Anderson to MC4. Anderson connectors are common for Jackery products. Thank you for watching!

    I was actually in the market for these solar panels but after seeing that the Ecoflow panels are water proof. I got one in a heartbeat.

      That's great to hear! I was never a fan of the USB charging ports in the back of portable solar panels. The Ecoflow does not have those port so everything is sealed from water.

    Try the can trick. If you take a soup can and hold it against your solar panel you want to see little to no shadow. If you see shadow you know which direction your panel needs to go in order to get the Optimum angle. remember to check on them every hour for faster charging rate

    Love all of your videos. We bought our Basecamp last summer and have been enjoying camping. We haven’t done any winter snow storm camping yet but you definitely inspire us!! We are wondering if you have used the Ecoflow solar panels to charge the Basecamp batteries? We have a small Jackery power station but have been looking at bigger options and solar panels. We are hoping to get a set that can connect to the Basecamp as well. Thanks for all the great info and for sharing your adventures!

    • @SirCampalotOutdoors
      @SirCampalotOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I've tried using these solar panels to charge the Basecamp batteries and it works well. You need to buy a separate charge controller to hook the solar panels up to the charge controller then from the charge controller to the zamp exterior connection on the BC. Thanks so much for watching!

    Hi. Thank you for sharing all of this great info. Just curious, is there a reason you didn't go with the Buetti solar panels that are an optional ad on with the generator? Thanks!

    • @SirCampalotOutdoors
      @SirCampalotOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bluetti have great solar panels and I would get that in a heart beat. The reason why I went with the Ecoflow is because it is water proof. I don't have to worry about packing it up if there's unpredicted rain. Thanks for watching!

    • @nbain12
      @nbain12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the tip! Do you usually leave them out to charge through the clouds? Is this effective or is it best to wait for full sun? Thanks!

      @@SirCampalotOutdoors I also have a few additional questions if you're willing to answer. Is there a reason you didn't get the 220w or 400w solar panels? Are they not compatible? Do you think it would be worth getting the AC200MAX for the extra Wh if we will be using AC? Thanks again for your help!

    • @SirCampalotOutdoors
      @SirCampalotOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nbain12 I leave them out all day and night. It won't be effective while cloudy but I just don't like to put it away if the sun will come back. Even with sun, you have to adjust the angle every 2 hours or sold to get the most efficiency out of them!

      To answer your question, it has to do with pricing and voltage. Back then, two 160W panels were cheaper than 400W and 2x220W. You can charge the battery pack with 400W solar panel on its own. However, if you were to get the 160W or the 220W panels, you will need to get 2 due to the Bluetti's battery voltage requirements for charging. It needs to be at least 36V when charging via solar. The solar panels I had were a18V each so I hooked it up in series to make it 36V. I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions!

    I have the same panels to charge my EcoFlow delta2’s. I don’t use the case as a stand, diy 2 stands out of PVC (1” ) drilled holes in pvc to put eye bolts to line up with the panel eyelets. Much easier to move around (especially in the dirt) you can cement the pvc or not depending on how you want to use it as far as portability, also made legs for the pvc panels that I made . Just take a pvc “T’’ cut the top long way in half measure out a piece of pvc pipe and you have a “kick” stand. Works really good. My 2 cents.

    Take the out put watts and divide by rated. 80 to 85% at peak of day is good. To measure change rate take rated watts and multiply by 5.5hours plus or minus 2 depending on your latitude area, season, sun level.

    Pretty sure if you're working where there's a lot of shade you need to hook up in parallel not series

    Most solar voltaic panels are designed to sit out in the weather 24 - 7, they need the sun.

    The best ideal method of using Solar is the double up method. Never go into solar expecting to get around the wattage you want. So if you want say 200watts. Don't expect 200watts. Get 400watts and then you'll expect roughly 200watts almost consistent. Even without having to readjust them all the time. That's the golden rule for solar. Double up for whatever power you are looking at. Want 500watts. get 1000. Want 5000. Get 10.000. Doubling up will get you more then normal of the wanted power in most cases. but in the long in. You'll get the rough % of the exact wattage you're looking after. Without having to fiddle so much.

    “Bluetti” is pronounced blue-etti. NOT blue-yetti. There’s no “y” in it.
