Man I really miss my jazwares figures, my parents threw all of mine away when I was 13 truly one of the most sad moments I’ve ever experienced in my life but I had so many memories with them and that is something I will never forget
I saw the new toy line in my local Walmart and I got excited. I then got yelled at by an employee for running lol. I was able to get my hands on the Mecha Sonic figure. Never taking it out of the packaging.
This reminds me of a PatMac video, the intro even shows the thumbnail for the video just like how PatMac does in his intros. The editing style does too, the fading, the music starting then a few seconds later talking starts, sometimes we switch to camera too
My brother and I had the Resaurus Sonic and Crash Bandicoot toys as kids back in 98. They were awesome, but Resaurus' toys were notorious for breaking or falling apart, so our mom often had to either fix them with superglue or replace them.
I grew up with the Jazwares line of Sonic Figures and this may be nostalgia talking but they have been my favorite of all of the toy lines, more specifically the Generations figures and the Free Riders figures, honestly those were some good times, before before the Sonic Boom games, Sonic Lost World, and finally Sonic Forces

One thing to note about the megabot figures from Toy Island, they had two releases which had different sculpts. There were various ‘changes’ to the characters most notably Shadow got a new head sculpt, Amy got a new head sculpt, Knuckles was made much larger etc etc- you can find pictures of the variants online. Not sure which ones are considered to be more sought after but it’s cool seeing them! I had both waves as a kid, however I only currently have the tiny knuckles left from the original wave.
I’m actually super nostalgic for the sonic and shadow jazwares plushies. I was given them in first grade by my grandma about a week before she had a stroke. Fortunately she survived, but I always carried around the two plushies with me every time we visited her at the hospital for the next few months.

IMO, Jakks Pacific is the worst toyline right up there with Resaurus and maybe Tomy because all they’ve been doing is re releasing the same figures again, forcing you to buy the same figure for a different accessory and aren’t taking risks in making new characters and NO, the playsets such as the recent Death Egg is not enough to satisfy fans including me. SEGA is better off finding a new toy partner or going back to Jazwares.

That’s also ignoring the fact that they’ve made figures of characters that barely have any such as Silver and a fully articulated Motobug. All of that is ignoring the fact that compared to past lines, Jakks has released by far the most video game accurate figures with the some of the best accessories to date. Case and point, you have no idea what you’re talking about.

While growing up in Mexico Sonic merchandise never came to my local superstores (specially since I lived in a small town in the woods) so now that I’m in college I finally bought my first Sonic toy and I LOVE IT Jakks is just amazing !!!
I gotta say I'm a big fan of the Jazwares plushes, they're hilariously off-model and I just find that super duper charming. Would totally take most other plush lines, but theirs always had a certain "cute in an ugly way" sorta thing going on.
Recently, I found this box and when I opened it, it literally had the Tomy figures of Boom Sonic, Boom Tails and Boom Knuckles and I didn’t even know I had it!
I remember getting classic and modern Sonic and Tails 3 inch sets, and all broke. All that remains in my collection is the 5 inch modern and classic Sonics, and the super forms. Thanks for showing off the different packaging, because for years I always thought my super duo of Sonics was a bootleg because of the different packaging it had.

Not just that, but almost any brand new, in-box Jazwares figure. Everyone says it’s “rare” or “limited edition” meanwhile I saw them almost all the time, until they were discontinued. Don’t be like me, when you have a feeling something is going to go up in price for no reason, just buy it for cheap while you can!!!

Let that sink in. Jakks needs to step up their game and stop with these unnecessary variants.

I remember having about six of the jazwares figures one shadow that came with his motorcycle, knuckles and espio, and the super sonic, shadow and silver three pack. Any I'm now trying to get the jakks version of the characters and a handful of others when I'm able.
Honestly the jazzwears figures are probably the least durable as a kid I remember getting the super 3 pack and I tried to bend my Sonics knees to sit him at the edge of my tv stand and it broke. And you might say “well your a kid you where probably really rough” nah I gently bent the knee and snap. I cried and the next day we went back to the store and got a refund and me being a idiot I got the same thing so now I had 14 chaos emeralds the normal and miscolors a broken sonic silver and shadow and now new ones And they all broke again slowly as time went by and every time a piece broke I’d ask my mom to superglue it and went back to playing So the jazzwear figures and definitely the least…… toy? Of all the toy lines And you might say “well there not toys there figures and collectibles” And I’d say your wrong! There are toys ment for kids and if a kid can’t play with them without them breaking then why are you making toys? I wasn’t even rough with my toys I played with them all around the house on adventures and outside and if I can’t do that if kids can’t do that then you failed as a toy company I also had their Minecraft figures and those broke just as easy
I remember buying a Excalibur sonic from Kmart once when i was like 9, I dropped once on the walk back home and it practically shattered apart. Didnt even bother getting a refund
Most of mine are still in tact thankfully, but that’s only because I haven’t touched them in so many years now! I picked up my Amy Rose 3 inch figure last year and twisted the boot (which ALWAYS worked prior to this) and it simply fell off. I wasn’t even rough with it as I’m an adult now! Thankfully it was a fairly easy repair and it still works now, and whilst I love the Jazwares figures for nostalgia and their articulation, I admit they had their faults in quality a fair amount of time. Oh and my Espio’s arm broke off when I was a child, and I remember reading on sonic gear.org a lot of people having similar problems! I still have a special fondness for them, and I don’t like Jakks’ products as much (personal preference), but gosh if only Jazwares didn’t make them so randomly fragile!
And I just know eventually, if I kept touching them they surely would all break😅 but I suppose that’s also an issue of toys becoming older, alongside quality.
When I was young I found a Joyride Sonic figure from Sonic Adventure 2: Battle at some small shop in a VERY small beautiful town in B.C. Canada while on a family trip across the border. My parents at the time were poor orchard workers with little English speaking skills and did not have money to be buying expensive toys, a lot of my toys were cheap finds from yard sales back then. So I remember being ready to BEG my parents to buy it for me as soon as I saw it, even the packaging itself looked so fancy and expensive compared to any toy I've ever owned at the time. I was positive that their answer was gonna be a hard "NO" but I just had to take the chance and ask anyways. I'm assuming it was at a pretty cheap price because to my surprise my mom said yes and bought it for me without saying anything about the price tag at all, which was pretty rare for her to do as they could barely ever afford shit at the time. I loved that figure so much growing up and it went with me on many trips across the country. Just too many fun innocent memories with it. I still think it is by far one of the best/most accurate figure variants of Sonic there is and I was surprised to see how rare they are and how much cash they go for. Recently I found mine again while going through some of my old stuff that I have stored at one of our properties. I now have it on display at home and am looking to collect the complete Resaurus set someday. Starting with Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails this week. Very well made video!
Sonic have been around even since I was a baby and don’t know Sonic until 2014 when I watch Sonic Boom, then play some video games of his and watch the live action movie of him last year. He’s a legend next to Mario 😁
I have 2 jazwares figures, at least i think they're jazwares. They have the jazwares designs but Sonic's shoe came off and his right hand was upside down and Shadow has two left hands

I know this is old but meh they were originally planning to make rouge but lost the contract before they got the chance

I cried and the next day we went back to the store and got a refund and me being a idiot I got the same thing so now I had 14 chaos emeralds the normal and miscolors a broken sonic silver and shadow and now new ones
And they all broke again slowly as time went by and every time a piece broke I’d ask my mom to superglue it and went back to playing
So the jazzwear figures and definitely the least…… toy? Of all the toy lines
And you might say “well there not toys there figures and collectibles”
And I’d say your wrong! There are toys ment for kids and if a kid can’t play with them without them breaking then why are you making toys? I wasn’t even rough with my toys I played with them all around the house on adventures and outside and if I can’t do that if kids can’t do that then you failed as a toy company
I also had their Minecraft figures and those broke just as easy
I remember buying a Excalibur sonic from Kmart once when i was like 9, I dropped once on the walk back home and it practically shattered apart. Didnt even bother getting a refund
Most of mine are still in tact thankfully, but that’s only because I haven’t touched them in so many years now! I picked up my Amy Rose 3 inch figure last year and twisted the boot (which ALWAYS worked prior to this) and it simply fell off. I wasn’t even rough with it as I’m an adult now! Thankfully it was a fairly easy repair and it still works now, and whilst I love the Jazwares figures for nostalgia and their articulation, I admit they had their faults in quality a fair amount of time.
Oh and my Espio’s arm broke off when I was a child, and I remember reading on sonic gear.org a lot of people having similar problems! I still have a special fondness for them, and I don’t like Jakks’ products as much (personal preference), but gosh if only Jazwares didn’t make them so randomly fragile!
And I just know eventually, if I kept touching them they surely would all break😅 but I suppose that’s also an issue of toys becoming older, alongside quality.
Yeah a good chunk of my figures broke too when I was a kid, now I only have a few figures left to this day, pretty upsetting
When I was young I found a Joyride Sonic figure from Sonic Adventure 2: Battle at some small shop in a VERY small beautiful town in B.C. Canada while on a family trip across the border. My parents at the time were poor orchard workers with little English speaking skills and did not have money to be buying expensive toys, a lot of my toys were cheap finds from yard sales back then. So I remember being ready to BEG my parents to buy it for me as soon as I saw it, even the packaging itself looked so fancy and expensive compared to any toy I've ever owned at the time. I was positive that their answer was gonna be a hard "NO" but I just had to take the chance and ask anyways. I'm assuming it was at a pretty cheap price because to my surprise my mom said yes and bought it for me without saying anything about the price tag at all, which was pretty rare for her to do as they could barely ever afford shit at the time. I loved that figure so much growing up and it went with me on many trips across the country. Just too many fun innocent memories with it. I still think it is by far one of the best/most accurate figure variants of Sonic there is and I was surprised to see how rare they are and how much cash they go for. Recently I found mine again while going through some of my old stuff that I have stored at one of our properties. I now have it on display at home and am looking to collect the complete Resaurus set someday. Starting with Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails this week. Very well made video!

Sonic have been around even since I was a baby and don’t know Sonic until 2014 when I watch Sonic Boom, then play some video games of his and watch the live action movie of him last year. He’s a legend next to Mario 😁
Also, I got the poster, Funko pop, stuff toys and the live action movie included the tv show of his like the 1990’s and Sonic Underground 🙂
I remember being a kid and wanting the super 3 pack thing so bad but I never was able to get it.

I have 2 jazwares figures, at least i think they're jazwares. They have the jazwares designs but Sonic's shoe came off and his right hand was upside down and Shadow has two left hands
I had lost my jazwares metal sonic a few years back when I was 12 but now that I'm 21 I found the exact one from my childhood on ebay
