Soon as I saw it against the 1961 Vintage II, I knew the American 60's Original was the one for me, not jus the pick ups but the thicker neck is more like a modern C. Plus shell pink is not going too crazy it's quite lovely.
The new fender designed CV Strat pickups are one of my favorite Strat pickups at any price. They really nail the classic vintage 60s Strat tone and feel, even more than many more costly pickups.
Man those Classic Vibe pickups never fail to impress, especially for more bluesy tones. The Vintera 60s pups do sound very "period correct": more mellow than their 50s equivalents.
Great play and content!! The neck on CV 60s strat is shallower. Nowadays I'm playing CV by fingerstyle only in my room so it's too shallow but not bad. I miss my ex Fender CS a little bit which was really great tone.
My opinion after watching this... (My opinion isn't even worth .02cents) would be that this shows just how "Gig-able" the Squire is. Also, just how good Strats sound. Good ole Single Coil PU's on slab bodies with bolt on necks. .
Pretty impressive with the guessing. I want the 60's American Original so bad. The wife is being a butthead and saying I cant get a pink guitar. I think I married the only chick in the world who doesnt like pink.

I own a shell pink AO 1960s Strat… best Strat I’ve ever owned. Plays and sounds incredible! Absolutely love the colour too.
Same here bro. I love this thing

Great video boys. Custom shop is stunning, but big shout to the Classic Vibe which more than held its own given the price difference.
Update….I now own this Custom Shop and it is absolutely stunning 😎🤘
The final call about preference and which one you would pick should have been done before seeing the guitars ;)
Great to see how well the CV held up particularly against the Vintera.

They all sound amazing just the feel is what makes the difference and there’s better ones in different batches

Finish finish finish! in the end the tone of a guitar is the most important??? Apparently not 😅
Would you (or anyone here) say the american originals with those PV65 pu's sounds warm? Or is it very bright and harsh?
Really enjoyed this guys....How about Gibson/Epiphone Comparison next ?
American Original 60s!!!!

@@rogiemac Excellent! You can still blame it on me retroactively if you need to ;) Even future guitar purchases, I don’t mind. 😂

“Feels like a Squire”. 900£ guitar…
He didn't pick the custom he said he didn't know what it was. All this video shows is custom shop models are a waste of money.
Yep, American Original is more than enough
