I have an 87 crew cab diesel with the same broken directional lever. Truck sat for 18 years. Dumped in some fuel bought new batteries and after getting the air out of the fuel lines it fired right up! Everything works even the radio. Only thing busted is the directional lever. Amazing.

Thanks! I love working on some of these older cars. While I’m no expert, I do know how to get an old truck running 😂

Nice! I just bought a 1984 F250 ex snow plow rig from Montana. It was owned by some tweakers before I got it, so trying to undo some damage and bunch of cut wires and Jimmie rigged work but just got it to run today and the fuel pump working. I will definitely be referencing your video again. Thanks for putting the work into it! also do you have a preferred vendor for parts?

I've been looking for a truck exactly like this, everyone wants like 4-5 grand. My late father had one just like it, I'm trying to find and rebuild.

Nice vid and truck! Just spent the past week getting a big block bricknose roadworthy again. Lots of suspension, bearing and brake work. Mine was an old farm truck. Motor runs like a top, but the everything else was worn out lol.
