I had one of those soft metal oil pan plugs round off in 1982 when i was a kid, i hand filed it for 1 hour on two sides flat to get a better gripe...to no avail. Finally drove my subaru to a little town sunday afternoon...old guy called up his friend "Rocky" his real name....to come in on sunday to fix my car...15 minutes later a long-hair motorcycle hippy due, named Rocky shows up....he had problems with the vise gripe too...but 10 minutes later he hammer-chiseled the edge and got it to turn. Rocky rocked...i was scared of the cost, as i didn't know these people, on their turf. They only charged me $10.
That's crazy, lucky rocky got you squared away! $10 got us somewhere back in the 80s I'd imagine lol. So this took about 30 min... plus oil quantity for 2 oil changes, what would you charge for this out of curiosity, throw me a number😅. Mind you, $10 -20 is not an option here lol
3:15 in right now, with how rounded it is, I wonder if just cutting a line down the center and trying with some flathead + hammer turning would free it. Guess we'll see how you did it. :)
That nut it for sure rounded off! I used to take some rubber from a strap and cut a little bit so that it would bite on the bolt. The vice grip would give a little more of the beans! I'm really enjoying this content man keep it up!
There is so much hanging out you could flatten the edges till a wrench side or create bite for the clamp.
I was elevating the pan with both hands because the jack was in the way of the trajectory. I was planning for 5qts
simple oil drain plug messed up by fast lube places most likely and not using torque wrench
Yep.
I lost it when the damn dipstick broke. You were definitely set up LOL! Genius extraction BTW.
Thank you sir! Took 1 min to engineer 😅

16:00 answers the question why they overfilled the oil :)
Good video shows how people don't look after their car and how you are able to over come.
Metal shavings EVERYWHERE
Where? 🤔🤔🤔
@@partsshooter @8:50...I thought those threads/filaments above the oil pan to the right, but I guess it's just nylon threads on that hose.
@texarkana3781 thanks for explaining, please always tell me where I can improve😅
Looking ripped brother also man these people be driving death traps
That car is SLIMY!
That is why there was so much oil in the engine.
Hope the rest of the dipstick isn't caught up in the crank case somewhere.

Man just use emergency socket or bolt/nut extractor
I understand, the previous guy tried and broke their socket. You can see the marks in the video, I mention this
