    Saw him in Tony Williams Lifetime at Birmingham Town Hall mid 70s. Absolutely the greatest band I've ever seen.. Have the relevant albums too. So impressed that little me who can't play a note could appreciate such giants..

    Jack,the Trailblazer.His ,array of all Musicians used and knew is alone Amazing. Kinda, think that He got undershadowed by Clapton's pop work .In My opinion He was always the One. Seen Him w/ Cream, as a Young Drummer . He blew it away and My mind to this day. Now ,all this material is coming to light much more for some reason .What an immense Talent.....

    Old Grey Whistle Test 1977. The line-up on this: Jack Bruce on bass, vocals and piano. Tony Hymas on keys, Hughie Burns on guitar and Simon Phillips on drums. The same band on "How's Tricks" and "Jet Set Jewel" :)

    There was an earlier (BBC Television Theatre - 6th June 1975) version with: Jack Bruce / Mick Taylor / Carla Bley / Ronnie Leahy & Bruce Gary. This might be confusing some people. That has also been released. But this version (also BBC) is from 14th April 1977 and features: Jack Bruce / Hughie Burns / Tony Hymas / Simon Phillips.

    My hero and inspiration. Was so impressed by his style I bought a bass like his (1964 Gibson EB-3) and tried to emulate him (poorly, but was fun jamming to his albums as a backup lead bass player).

    Does that picture belong? The Mr Jack I saw with this lineup was, er, older. The gig at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz was my #1 of all, and it included him storming off the stage ..

      No. It's called "Spirit". But it also appeared in a slightly different form as that. Jack always introduced it as 'Spirit'.

    WOW! So sad that Jack did so much mediocre pop music the he was clearly much more interesting when he played with his peers.

    • @bunnybgood411
      @bunnybgood411 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Huh? Jack did pop music? Don't you mean that Eric Clapton did mediocre pop music? I don't think Jack did any pop music.
