HUGE song from my childhood!!!! Local radio stations still play it in heavy rotation and it's STILL as fresh as when I listened to it when it originally came out. Nova should be a HUGE star! This is a top shelf riff!! I say it's as iconic as the riff for Back in Black! (at least to me)
Great song Aldo Nova!!! Thousands of plays on MTV back then!!!! They sound pretty good and actually playing and singing the song unlike some other bands of the era, i like how the truck is backed right up to the stage too. Thanks Aldo !!!!
NOT A ONE-HIT WONDER In 1990, Aldo Nova wrote the main guitar riff that would be used in the Jon Bon Jovi song, "Blaze of Glory".[1] In 1991, to return the favor, Bon Jovi worked with Nova on his Jambco Records (Jon Bon Jovi's label) release Blood on the Bricks.[1] It had three singles: "Blood on the Bricks", "Medicine Man", and "Someday" In 1996, he received a Grammy Award as producer for Celine Dion's Falling into You for Album of the Year.[4] In 1997, he released the much acclaimed, mostly instrumental album, Nova's Dream, which featured a different side of his talents as a musician writer. The album is considered by his fans as one of his best alongside his eponymous debut and Subject. He co-wrote the Latin Grammy-nominated song "Aqui" for the Chilean rock group La Ley on the album Uno. He also co-wrote and co-produced 4 other tracks on that album, which later that year won a Grammy for Best Latin/Alternative/Rock Album. As a songwriter, Nova's hits include Clay Aiken's "This Is The Night" (co-written with Chris Braide and Gary Burr), which in the US was a number-one hit and the best-selling single of 2003. He was also the only writer to have written or co-written five songs on Dion's Taking Chances album.[8] 2000s-present
K-Days in Alberta? Wow. They had the truck on stage right ready to haul ass. Damn - 66 y/o, he's rockin' while standing up. Yet, I recently saw Steve Miller, and he's doing fine at 79.
Saw this guy as an opening act when this song was all over MTV. It was at that moment that I realized I should have stayed in the car and finished that j.
I love Also Nova, but I have to say, that bass player is badass. I've never seen a rock star go for it so much. Slamming his bass on his hip and swinging his bass from his neck. Wow. Whatever strap locks he's using, that company needs to get him under contract!!!
I saw Aldo nova twice ..once in Sept 82 .opening for BOC ! Allentown fairgrounds in Allentown PA..also opening for Rainbow 🌈 spectrum in Philadelphia in oct 83 .as well ...let's see a US tour please ! Sellersville theater perhaps?
OMG he is still alive. Who knew? And I love the bass player just kinda strolling on stage, practically just phoning it in. This almost feels like a Spinal Tap moment.
Yes- he was sloppy and the band wasn’t that good. I can’t stand that Rudy Sarzo clone on bass. Last time I saw that prick he was prancing around with Giuffria.
City nights, Summer Breeze make you feel alright Neon Lights, shining brightly make your brain ignite See the girls with a dresses so tight Give you love if the price is right
Did you listen to his timing issues and his voice? He even went out of key in his solo! I seen Aldo Nova in 193 and this guy is a clone without swagger compared to him in the day. You would think 40 years of practice he would be Yngwie II but not this guy.@@RUHDD4HVN
Maybe everyone should check out Aldo's latest work 'The Life and Times of Eddie Gage'. Been following him since that way back when and his first album. Yeah, he kind of dropped out of sight like a lot of other 80's artists did but he's always been making music. Excellent guitar player and his latest album is just some good rock and roll along with Aldo Nova 2.0, Reloaded 2.0 & Short Stories.
Nope…the intro is obvious stem tracks….but so what? They’ve been doing it in the studio since the ‘50’s. Why would I want to go to a live show where there is a HD sound system and everyone has a HD video camera and hear an empty, garage band cove with no backing tracks?
@@kb1422 The "intro?" You mean the laser sound effects? Yes, that certainly is an "obvious stem track." Thanks genius. However, there are no prerecorded instrumental parts to be found here. Nice try though!
It was a good live rendition, I did notice that during some of the leads and such It didn't sound like they were on the same page and it kind of fell apart, but all and all I enjoyed hearing it again. Not too bad at 66, rock on!
Saw Aldo @SF Civic Auditorium in the early 80s. Paul Taylor from my home town played keys and guitar back then before going on to Winger and Alice Cooper. Much younger Aldo then but the same leopard shirt minus the leopard leotards back then (?wt?). This is one of the best guitar songs and coolest intros maybe among all of them. It rocks that hard...... just sayin, not fanning. The best pinch harmonics on the plane of the flat earth is from Aldo....... Where's Aldo? Right here.
I loved Aldo Nova! I saw them at a county fair. They were a cool band back then. If i recall...weren't they from Canada? idk...if so, high five Canada!
An 80’s singer who can still sing !!!!! Aldo rock on bruh!!!! 🤘🤘🤘
The audio quality is so bad how can you tell?
Can’t remember the chords however
An epic song that I still listen to all the time.
Wow, still cranking out Fantasy 42 years later.
I will say I like it.
It’s great to hear Aldo, still tearing up the guitar. I wore that record out. One of my early guitar heroes.
Tearing up the guitar? Nothing against him or the song, but this sh@t is so basic it ranks right up there with Smoke on the water
@@RodCalidgebut did you score any chicks?
I love the song It;s To Late.
One of the best songs of the 80s. Or any era for that matter.
HUGE song from my childhood!!!! Local radio stations still play it in heavy rotation and it's STILL as fresh as when I listened to it when it originally came out. Nova should be a HUGE star! This is a top shelf riff!! I say it's as iconic as the riff for Back in Black! (at least to me)
A True Rock Classic... Thumbs Up to Aldo for still Playing Live with such Energy Onstage
There will never be music like this again ❤ such nostalgia to hear this .
One of the best and most recognized openings to a song in rock. 🤘
Hummm … lots of those
One of the best songs of my teenage years!
Great killer song Aldo rocks.
Great song Aldo Nova!!! Thousands of plays on MTV back then!!!! They sound pretty good and actually playing and singing the song unlike some other bands of the era, i like how the truck is backed right up to the stage too. Thanks Aldo !!!!
Haha! I noticed that too. Makes for an easy load out.
Love this song. . Oldie but goodie here. Bad ass jam. Saw him way back in the day. .

Awesome job guys. Sounded great. Keep rocking cause age is just a number 👍🤘🎤🎸

Great stuff. That BASSIST at 4:18 though! He's going to have some serious bruises on his hip!! 🤘😂
Great artist. Great song!

A cool 80s One hit Wonder !

That was the biggest mash-up of spinal tap meets steel panther that I have ever seen in my life!!!!
This is what happiness looks like especially if you don't drink yourself to death by 40 way to go Aldo

Maiden! 🤘⚽️
Great song, stands the test of time with the 70's
Came out around 1982
Saw Aldo in his younger days, he was a great performer, and really great guitarist. This is just hard to watch...
All true facts.........miss my friends
I've always loved this song. I am glad I found this vid. 😎
One hit wonders. I did buy the first album. Was greatly under rated.
Ball and chain?
Monkey on your back was jam
Nice
This was really good! Didn’t know he was touring.
sounds good! have the album.
First two albums were awesome 👏 still has the goods rock on
Aldo rocks 🤘🤘

ALDO FN NOVA!!! Still bringing it 🤘👊🤘
Very cool! Aldo still killing it! Wonder what he looks like without the rug on his head?! haha! I hope these guys keep rocking into old age!
Not a rug.
Aldo has been wearing a wig for about 4 decades.
@@sweetcup6694 yeah it is. not that it's relevant to anything.
@@SamPlaysBass49Interesting. I never knew that. And you're right: means nothing.
I got this album on Cassette Tape when it first came out !

Check out his new album. Best work he has ever done
It's hard to relive our youth.
we were all young once.
The song originally has so much production in the studio. Hard to reproduce live

Takes me back to better time.
No slam, but this song is HOF one-hit-wonder. It rocks.
Cool how they can back the equipment truck to the dock.
I’m flipped silly seeing this…..Aldo Nova. Fuck me running. Today is a good day. Jus sayin y’all.
Looks like they need a bit of polishing. But yeah Aldo nova has some great tunes. It would be nice to see him get it together..
Yeah, the bass player screwed up the change in the middle and at the end of the song was playing the wrong notes.
I agree . A few hick ups in the start . No disrespect intended . Great to see an hear him again 🤟🏿🤟🏿
Without Aldo Nova, would Bon Jovi (the band) exist?
Back in the Day , There would be a white cloud over the crowd , 2hr sets , no policing , cheap beer , Gezz miss those days .
Love this guy!!
City nights, Summer Breeze make you feel alright
Neon Lights, shining brightly make your brain ignite
See the girls with a dresses so tight
Give you love if the price is right
More cowbell!!!
Love the keyboards on top of the amps hahaha
BALL CHAIN WAS ANOTHER GOOD 1
Not bad for a tribute band. Wish Aldo had been there!
That's Aldo in person..... He just looks a little older.

Good effort. Good for him.
Forgot all about that dude until I saw this.
Aldo drug Fantasy out of the moth balls...fantastico!!
Senor Nova: BC wants you/the tour to cruise out to the west coast to enjoy genuine Aldo!
Used to race motocross when this came out. Used to listen to right before heading to the start gates. Both motos.
Looks like they’re actually performing and not using any Paul Stanley fake stuff. A little rough, but bravo fellas.

Dude looked sooo baked in the original video
Good for Aldo back out there...
There was an Aldo Nova Les Paul - I think 12 were made. Rick Nielsen has some.
Is that the Paul with the hockey stick headstock?
Yes
The equipment trailer parked at the side of the stage for when fans start throwing stuff!
This was my first concert! 🫶🏽

You would think after all these years, he wouldn't have to look at the neck of the Guitar! BUT he STILL rocks!
Every guitar player does especially ones that are singers
Put a shirt on, bro...
What backyard was this played in? Nice to see the lift truck ready for the “quick escape” out of town. LOL
First cassette I ever bought.
Aldo followed his own path. He refused to be swayed by producers.
I remember being 8 or 9 years old singing this in the mirror.
