Hello! I was wondering if there is a way to take the “out of stock” banner that appears on the out of stock items in the storefront. I only have products stocked once a month and don’t want hide all the products but I also don’t want a huge banner that says “out of stock” as soon as they visit my store.
Hey mate,
Good question, I will look into this.
Great tutorial But I'm stuck at the Advanced page. The fields came up blank and I don't know how to restore default. I've added the pages like you have here and it's taking customers to the shop page but there doesn't seem to be a "check out" page. How do I set that up. It seems like this is an essential missing element. It doesn't matter how all the other pages and fields are set up if it's not taking folks to a page where they can put in their payment to order. And I installed the WooCommerce Payments app. Help!
Hey Victoria,
I will need to look into this!
May God bless you
Thank you
Hi, Good Video!
I'm having a problem checking those two boxes "Add to cart behaivor" you are showing it 10:28 in your video.
As soon as I have the two boxes reapear unchecked..
I have been trying clear catch, from diffrent browsers but evey time I go save changes they go back to unchecked.
Do you maybe know what could be the problem?
Thanks in advanced
Filip
Hey mate,
There could be a clash with a plugin or theme.
Great video ! we are looking to drop ship which is not covered here
We have a tutorial coming in the new year that covers this 🤗
You Aotearoans, Always out there Helping people, doing all the good things for people and being all humble and that.
Can't believe that most of you people from Aotearoa are just like that.
You guys need to stop helping people so much and maybe let others have a go.
Thanks for Nothing

when i comes to user account creation, do your settings apply when someone pays via paypal? The paypal checkout is different, in its own popup modal, rather than the generic, on the page woocommerce checkout.
Hey!
Yes correct this is slightly different.
when the customer buys something, does this take the customer to a different website (navigate them away from your WordPress site) ? hmm. i think you answered that question at 25:04. appears the customer will remain on the WordPress site, which is great. i really hate it when i'm on a site and click to buy something and i am taken to a different website
Hey,
You are correct. The customer will remain on your website.
I feel guilty asking this because your presentation is SO thorough. However... Nowhere could I find (twice through) a reference for a digital download product. Been toying with the idea of leaving Kindle and putting my books on a WooCommerce page integral to my site. Don't have a 'store' for physical products, just 3 books formatted for Kindle. What say you? Thanks for all your efforts here.
Hey mate,
Yes you can sell digital products through Woocommerse too. This is the best option as you take home more margins.
@@StewartGauld Thanks Stewart. I guess the only advantage to Kindle would be exposure to a larger audience.
I have had a website for a few years and now want to add a store to it - is there a video for this?
Yes you sure can. You can use Woocommerce or another integration.
Great tutorial. One thing confusing me is that you are installing onto an already existing site, but you chose a theme, surely your site would have already had a theme? What do I do if I already have a theme on my site? Tia.
Hey Robert,
Yes, I'm choosing the theme I already use. You will already have a theme that you site uses. Either a paid or free default theme.
@@StewartGauld Going through the set up and it did not give me the option to select a theme. Is that because wordpress already has a default theme, Twenty Twenty Three, active? I would like to look through the Woocommerce themes or possibly use the DIVI one.
Which are the minimum specs on hosting that you need to have to sustain a small ecommerce business?
All hosting WordPress plans should allow you to do this.
Hey, bedankt voor je goede video's! klein vraagje, mijn website is in het engels maar mijn woocommerce gedeelte (shop pagina etc) zijn in het nederlands.. enig idee waar ik deze kan aanpassen? Alvast bedankt!
I'm glad you got value!
I really like that bro. you think I should Get paid plugins?
You should be fine with the free plan unless you have more advanced requirements.
Hi, I just had a quick question- can you add a product to home page? I just want to add a product on the home page - I’ve looked through your videos and can’t find it 🙈
Yes you can add a single product to your home page if you like.
My woo commerce site keeps adding the wrong item to cart. I choose one item and another shows in cart sometimes. Or I add an item and it always shows one item added to cart but when I click on the cat the correct item is actually in cart.
I'm sorry to hear. I will have to look into that.
Which is a reliable place to buy hosting and domain from? How much does it cost
We recommend Hostinger.
@@StewartGauld what are its benefits
So,,,,,, ? I have just finished my Wordpress website. Built all my pages and imported all my product images and discriptions, does this mean i have to build it all over again in Woocommerce dashboard ? ?
Did you do this and then install Woocommerce?
Thanks for replying. I have finish building my website on Wordpress but have not connected to any ecommerce yet. Following your Channel and realised I will have to rebuild it in Woocommece platform,,, all my product images and discriptions etc,,,,,,,That was real disappointing, I thought I would just have to add a 'Cart Button' or something not rebuild it in another platform. I guess I can just copy and paste everything over but still a big job ? @@StewartGauld
I don't understand ,how much do we mark up the product to make a profit? Th regular price and new price is cheaper this kind of confused me
Hey Danielle,
This all depends on your own business model.
What is I have a website and theme already? Can I skip the 'Choose Theme' of the tutorial?
As the site is live, can the permalink be altered for posts without affecting the site? (we have pages live, no posts live).
Hey,
Yes you can.
How do you add products using API?
I can look into creating a tutorial for this.
Where is the tutorial on how to design the shop pg?
Coming soon!
At this point you are just either reading labels out loud or saying "Again, we're just gonna leave this at the default setting for now". What happens when we change the default page? What happens we click enable taxes? Etcetera. Please add some educational value.
Hey,
Typically, the default setting are suitable for the majority. However, depending on your situation you can make the appropriate changes to the common default settings. Thanks!
hi, is woocommerce free?
Yes! There is also a paid version.
Great Video, but Woocommerce looks like a convoluted PIA.
What makes you say that?
@@StewartGauld300 clicks just to get started, menus all over the place, too many choices - I gave up the 1st time through, maybe after your tutorial, I'll be successful, I'll report back.
@@psomlo let me know how you go? Alternatively, you can give Shopify a go if your new to building an online store
@@StewartGauld I've already tried Shopify, didn't find it very straightforward and not willing to pay $39/month. I haven't seen a CMS that I thought was easy to use. I manage a website that uses Drupal and it's an absolute nightmare - I've given up on updating and I'm two revs behind. I'm the point on Woocommerce where I'm adding/editing my products, but it's not fast. And there are 25 menu choices across the left sidebar, with no guidance from woocommerce on how to get started. There's so much functionality and options built in, that it makes it unwieldy and confusing.
.
Thanks!
