  • This is a video review of an important recent study by Marijon et al published in the Annals of Internal Medicine in December 2015.
    The authors looked at whether sudden cardiac death could be predicted by symptoms preceding the event and if doing something about these symptoms could improve survival.
    Their findings are a true revelation. This video provides you with the gist of their study in just 5:30min. Enjoy!

    My dad had this 2 days ago and by some miracle his brother heard him groan as he lost consciousness and started cpr right away. He is recovering and doing well. I’m sorry for those who weren’t as fortunate as we were. Very scary stuff!! My dad has always been the healthiest person I know.

    My 15 year old son was sick in bed with the rhinovirus for a week because he was forced to wear a mask in school over his nose at all times. He kept saying mum I can't breath but they didn't except his exemption. He went onto cardiac arrest on day 7. Thank God he survived it but doctors still don't know what caused it. He was vapping at school with his friends which I later found out about too. Has this happened to anybody else you know?? I'm sooo scared!

    if i had influenza like symptoms i would really not think i could be going to have a cardiac arrest so thats a difficult warning symptom- and i doubt any gp would be giving you an ecg or more extensive cardiac exam if you presented with flu symptoms. And in fact would an ecg be likely to be helpful? I have heard many stories of people collapsing with an MI or cardiac arrest who had been given the all clear from their doctor. What heart tests can actually show that someone's heart is about to stop- especially if it is from an electrical fault?

    • @yasam3780
      @yasam3780 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that's right. The thing is everyone needs to go have their check ups every once in a while. That would be the best case cenario in my opinion. Also, as someone who had many ecg, echo and effort tests, they only take couple minutes, except effort test. That takes about 5-10 minutes.

      You need a cardiologist. I was diagnosed with V Tach. Doc said it was it was a rare thing they caught it. It happened while I was wearing a holter monitor.

    • @RickCarter1776
      @RickCarter1776 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The possibility of diagnosing your problem in a singular visit to a physician are fairly low. The symptoms you are describing make me lean toward a dysrhythmia event either atrial or ventricular but most likely you will need to be followed by a physician who can place you on some type of ecg monitoring system like a holter monitor or an ecg event monitoring system. I cannot stress enough that this is something you must follow up on. Syncope/near syncope have a host of rather sinister possible causes and cannot be safely and properly evaluated without proper supervised medical follow-up. I understand and sympathize with the abhorrent costs associated with medical evaluations but the bottom line is this: not having this properly evaluated could cost you your life.

      See a doctor. This sounds like an electrical problem in your heart versus vascular. The skips are probably PVCs or premature ventricular contractions. You need to have an EKG, maybe a 24 hour holter moniter, and evaluation by a cardiologist. One or 2 skips can become a long series of PVCs and cause a sudden cardiac arrest. Don't wait.
