Hello from Manchester England 🏴 Jeannie! I love this video, so important to celebrate our diversity. A taxi driver once imparted some wisdom to me which I’ve never forgotten. He said in his 40 years picking up many people every day from all walks of life he has learned that 98% of people in life are inherently good at heart, and he always tries to make sure his customers are smiling by the end of their journey even if they appear angry when they get in his cab! Hi Jeannie. A very interesting and well explained video. Yes, I feel the same as you and wish I had listened more to my dad when he would try to tell me things about the past. From things you've said on other videos, I think you are similar in age to me. When I was born, Harold Macmillan was UK prime minister, whilst America was soon to have US President, John F Kennedy. Our countries have so much history together. Best wishes from Greater Manchester, UK. 🇬🇧 🤗🙏
A couple of years ago, I gave my grandparents each a book called something like “the story of me”! It’s a journal with prompts to write stories from different parts of your life from birth on! They love to sit down together and pic a page to fill out. They’ve even added extra notes and pictures and other little details. It’s been such a special thing that they get to do together and to chat with us about the stories they are writing and then we get a written documentation of them all!! Thank you so much for your thoughtful words and encouragement for peaceful dialogue and tolerance for those different points of view. Some of the dearest people in the world to me will never agree with me politically. We miss out on so much when we exclude every person that may disagree with us.
I attended a flag placing on graves today of service members that indicated the deceased served in the military branches on their plot. It was beautiful to see the Boy and Girl Scouts, young Cadets placing the American Flag on the graves of those who served, what values they were being taught! They'd say the name of the service man or woman and say "Thank you for your service." So beautiful! I have no shame in saying I don't have to neither like nor embrace any particular group, as MLK, Jr., said, only the content of one's character!
🇺🇸I love this Jeannie. I couldn't agree more about it being OK to have different beliefs/opinioms. IMO, it's unhealthy how polarized we've gotten on so many topics. We're called to love one another, and not to hate and be separated. Thank you for the reminder 💜

Good, topical info. This comes up a lot in flag discussions: there's a big difference between having clothes with a flag (or stars and stripes) printed on them - which is perfectly fine, versus taking a flag and making clothing out of it.

We have some flags which are not allowed to use because of the history we have. A lot of german people don’t understand the whole „being proud of your country or flag“ thing. In case of special events (CSD, proud month) there is also a rainbow flag 🏳️🌈
I wish USA would listen to Germany. Your country would never allow the Nazi flag to be proudly flown. Here, some worship the Confederate flag. 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️
@@MikeLegend-qb1hzwe have a lot of people who celebrate and show a nazi flag or nazi symbols or nazi paroles. Most of the people are disgusted by it but there are people who really think like this and show this.
There is nothing wrong with being proud of Germany. 🇩🇪 Nazis, the people, have a bad history. And many counties do have ugly histories. But I admire Germany for the education that is mandatory about their history. They don’t try to erase it and pretend it never happened. By the way, I am finding a couple of very strong German lines in my genealogy!
Jeannie, I know you're right about unity. 👍 I think the real confusion is in our heads. For some reason we've started to make this division up in our heads. And it feeds itself. With ❤ from 🇫🇮

Hi Jeannie. I'm from Aotearoa (New Zealand). A beautiful country with extraordinary scenery and a rich culture of Māori people, and a melting pot of many other ethnicities. I was born in NZ to my Welsh dad and my Cockney mum. I absolutely love listening to your "blah blah blah". I also started watching TIR after you recommended it. It's so interesting. The comments though...oi!
Yes! I love that channel but the comments break my heart. They aren’t a society like ours but are being judged as if they should know what we know. I feel terrible. Thank you for this!!
Only 3 minutes in and i can tell this is a interesting video! And 8pm here, so it looks like an early bedtime here for me! Looking amazing as ever, Jeannie! 🤍🤍
Born, raised and live in Scotland 🏴 Love visiting the US when I can and lived and worked in PA at a Summer camp once. Ps, this video should be called Jeannie-ology 😂
With respect to you having your own beliefs I dont understand why so much importance is attached to a flag. I think people burning/destroying a flag is just them expressing their views in the same way you express yours by displaying it or "promoting" it. Promoting isnt the right word but I think that makes sense🤣. Love the video as always. Keep slaying queen 😊
Burning or destroying your country's flag in pursuit to raise up another country, or just simply because you hate your own country, is OK? That's not expressing an opinion, that's promoting violence. It's certainly happening a lot in America. With all due respect to youe opinion, if one doesn't like America, then why don't they leave? Because in a lot of countries, if you were to burn their flag you would go to jail. Just an example of the privileges we have here.
I have zero interest in starting an argument but there are much more serious issues than burning a flag, I don’t see how that can possibly incite “violence”. No offense to y’all just my two cents
I, and many others, feel quite opposed to that kind of disrespect. I think many of us have forgotten what it took, the sacrifice of others, to be a free country…people who died for the values of our flag. BUT I defend to the death your right to believe that.
@oliviamizzi33 I'm not American. But it's not as simple as "just leave" when your family and friends live in that country. Yes, burning or destroying a flag is completely fine. Respect in all senses is earned, not automatic. I'd struggle to be proud of a country that is STILL debating the rights and treatment of certain groups of people.
@JeannieBASMR I like hearing your perspective, I think a lot of it comes down to a difference in opinion of what a flag represents. And the same here. Gotta defend freedom of speech from all sides💗
I am not in the DAR, but my Mom's Dad's side of the Family came over from England in the Mayflower from 1740 and I was told that I could be part of the DAR. However, I do not know if I would be eligible because my Late Dad's Side of the Family is from Bauska, Latvia and my Late Dad came to America in 1939. I do not know if both parents have to have links to the Revolution and the early settlers🤔🤔?? My Late Dad was very patriotic and was proud and grateful to be an American!! My Late Great Uncle Louis sponsored and paid for my Late Dad and my Later Grandfather to come to America, which both became American Citizens!! My Late Dad was blind in one eye so after he became an American Citizen, he joined the California National Guard, but was only allowed to have limited duty because he was blind in one eye. My Late Dad thought a lot of Americans took their freedoms for granted. My Late Dad was Jewish and he was the oldest child, so he came to America with my Late Grandfather to raise money to bring over my Late Grandma and my Late Uncle Cemech age 14 and my Late Uncle Aaron age 5 and one half to six, but they could not raise money in time and my Late Grandma age 42, my Late Uncle Cemech age 14, and my Late Unlce Aaron age 5 and one half to 6 years old were all shot execution style by the S.S. Nazis. So, my Late Dad instilled in me how important it is to protect Democracy. And I thank you for being so kind and not making people feel bad for having another opinion. As a Democrat I will quote Ronald Reagan who said to Gorbachev, " If there was an alien race how quickly we would come together to resolve our differences.... and realize we are all God's children, we are all human beings". Thank you for letting me express all this on Memorial Day Weekend.

With ❤ from 🇫🇮
100%! Great observation!
Iceland 🇮🇸👍 so proud to be an icelander, we are a young nation as well and were under danish ruling for a long time (indipendence in 1944). Love my country 🥰

Hello Jeannie from Scotland🏴👋
Hello to you in Bonnie Scotland!
Love from Scotland 🏴👍. A fun fact about Scotland is that our national animal is the Unicorn 🦄
I love that!!
Love your stuff!!!! Thanks for always helping me sleep 🛌 ❤ hope you have a nice long weekend Jeanie!!!

Very cool name - Jeannie-ology!! Let's let everyone know! Lol!
I live in the same county as you do in Texas. I remember the video from when you moved here. 🇺🇸👍
Well said.
Hello from Switzerland! 🇨🇭
Hello there!
🇺🇸 I really enjoyed this video!!
Glad you enjoyed it!💕
With respect to you having your own beliefs I dont understand why so much importance is attached to a flag.
Love from the Philippines 🇵🇭 💚
Very interesting video, thank you Jeannie! Love from Wales 🏴 in the UK 🇬🇧 ❤️

I am not a member yet. My mother died in 2023 and while going through her things I came across DAR certifications for both she and my grandmother.
The. You should have an easy time of it if you were to seek membership! Let me know if you pursue it. 😄
Hello from England 🏴 but I have lived in these beautiful countries too 🏴🇰🇷🇯🇵🇭🇲🇪🇸

My local library has a free notary, it might be something to look into! Saved me some extra money during my IVF and embryo freezing process

Hello dear Jeannie! I hope you are doing well? Thank you for this new video! Liefs XO Anke
Hello, dear Anke!! Many liefs!!! ❤❤❤
greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷👍
😊 Thank you so much for this!
