Literally squealed with delight as I opened TH-cam and saw this! I just found out I passed all my courses to graduate, and this feels like a mini celebration 🥰🥰
Hey Jeannie, Jewish fan here - a Haggadah is the text we read during Passover dinner. It's full of biblical exerpts from Exodus, folk songs in Hebrew and Yiddish, and a story order around the Seder plate. A Seder plate holds food items with spiritual meanings (ie bitter herbs and salt water to mimic the feelings of loss, suffering, and grief). These books come in a variety of themes, audience age targets, and styles but with a core story. I have one styled after the show Marvelous Mrs. Maisel/Maxwell House!
1974 is a vert memorable year for me. I was 16 years old and on 2nd January 1974 I joined the Royal Air Force which was a dream come true for me. So 1974 is my choice.
Oh you’re taking me back. 1978 please. When this catalog would arrive every year my aunt and I would go through circling what we wanted. Then my grandmother would go through and do the same and hand it over to my grandfather. She almost always got one of hers…sometimes we would get ours or something else he found. I still have some of those gifts. I also miss going to fortnight in October, and having lunch in the Zodiac Room. Neiman’s hasn’t been the same since Mr Marcus died and it has been bought out by first one group than the other.
I had to stop this video right after the part in the 1974 catalogue with the robes and night gowns because all I could hear in my mind was Carrie Fischer from When Harry Met Sally saying “He just spent $120 on a new nightgown for his wife. I don’t think he’s ever going to leave her.” And Meg Ryan saying “No one thinks he’s ever going to leave her.” Will come back again after I watch the movie 😂
Yay mama J's time machine activate. I'm going with the 70s, things were so different, I love it. Your videos are the only thing getting me through pregnancy insomnia. Thanks for always giving us awesome videos❤
Also, I pick 1974. I'm a member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, so it would be fantastic to imagine owning something exhibited there. Of course I'd skip the fur. The Haggadah is a book used for the Passover Seder, read from the back to front, right to left. It has a set of instructions for observing the Seder Dinner, with different members of the family reading different parts. There are prayers, a certain presentation of items, and even some songs or games.
Oh Jeannie, this was fabulous! I went on both trips because I'm a shopaholic 😆 This video came at the perfect time for me; my little boy kitty woke me up at 4:00 a.m. this morning (🙀) so I had plenty of time to sit and watch this with a cup of coffee. I enjoyed it so much, I really did. Thank you, sweet Jeannie 💝 XO, Cathy
Thanks, Jeannie, for this video! This will be the first thing i watch this morning. Have a lovely Thanksgiving if you celebrate it 😊 Will you be preparing for Christmas soon 🤔 Maybe you could do another cooking video with a Christmas theme, similar to the lavender cookies last year 😊😊 Love from England.
What a fun idea! I unfortunately picked the wrong year. 😂 Decided that since I was 7 in '88, I'd go back as an adult...but I liked '74 better! LOL Unrelated, I really really liked how you had your hair pulled back in the jewelry ad! It looked really pretty! ❤
I collected those same dolls from around the world I think they were madam alexader dolls. I still have the collection and I have small collection from Britain because my grandparents were from Britain and lived there until they moved to the United States after they had four children then 4 more in the states. So I still have them. I loved collecting dolls.
I choose 1988. And since you mentioned no budget. I’ll take the black suit, and I’ll get it tailored to fit me, add some Italian dress shoes, and I’m gonna go bold and I’m going with a black fedora, I don’t think I saw that in the magazine, and I’ll take a black trench coat
Hello Jeannie! Greetings from Bolivia, I love your program , I really relate to you in so many ways, l also love Channel , old magazines and the way you think and give us advice. I will pick the 1974 Neiman Markus time shopping travel! Lots of kisses❤️
as a gen z’er (22) this is so cool! my parents were both born in 1978, so it’s nice to see a blend of something a few years before they were born and something from their childhood! so cool 💕🫂
Woah 19:50 Darmstadt mentioned ✨ it’s a city near Frankfurt, Germany where I study at the moment. And I assume the Haggadah is a Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) reproduction? As Darmstadt was one of the big art centres of the Art Nouveau/Jugendstil movement at the beginning of the 20th century! (But it could be, that this rendition of the Haggadah is even older) I didn’t know about it till now and I wonder if there is a way I can see the original in the city 🤔
I’m imagining Jeannie B pulling up in a pink corvet like an asmr Regina Georg saying, “Get in loser, we’re going shopping.” Except everything’s on her! lol thanks for taking us shopping, Jeannie 💓 and i’m hopefully gonna watch both decades tonight, so I’m defying time.
Aww sweetie I love this so very cool you always create such magnificent videos always appreciated you so much sweet one You are just always the Sweetest and Cutest Lots of love and Koala hugs🐨💖
As far as vintage sizing goes, I am not sure of the exact conversion. However, I am a modern size 8 and typically need a 12 or 14 in vintage clothing. I am 5'8" with broad shoulders so its tough for me to find vintage dresses or tops that fit me right!
Hi Jeannie love watching your video's i would love to go back to the 70s/80 even the 60s the world was easier to understand and people were more friendly and family focused always a pleasure watching your videos have a great day possum 🙏😊
I'll take a ticket to 1974. Our driver's ed car was a yellow '74 Chevy Nova. We all got our licenses and jobs at fast food. We tore up the strip with our rock and roll and were sure that we ruled. 😎

As a Millennial the first thing I would want to buy is a house 😂 But traveling to 70s with Jeannie is my pick!!! 1974❤
Fantastic! Get in the limo!😁
That's the most relaxing sentence ever: "Anybody want one? I'm buying!" 🤩
Right? Wish we heard more of that! Lol!😁

Even though I'm a Gen Z born in 2002 and I'm 22 years old, I am a big fan of both the 70s and the 80s 🙏😊
Random, but I was reading through the comments and saw yours and thought OMG in 2002 I was 22 😅😂
@meghanmajor1586 I definitely had to laugh at it too 🤣 🤣

sounds like my niece and y sister, she was born in 2002, and my sister in 1978
I want to visit both! But I would choose ‘74.
My first and only visit to Neiman-Marcus was on a vacation to Houston at the Galleria Mall. I bought a t-shirt that had the Neiman's tag sewn in it.
