I must say how much I enjoy all the videos of the bikes at Andy Tiernan's. Even at age sixty nine I have a love affair with old British bikes and would dearly like to own one. I have fond memories of an AJS 350 "bitsa" that I used to tear around in the field behind our house at age sixteen. Only NOW,after seeing the correct starting procedure on video, could I have started that AJAY successfully without it kicking back (it left me with a knee that clicks to this day!) Well done and keep up the good work!
the sunbeam was conceived in 1930s germany but taken by the BSA company along with the BSA bantam as war reparations the sunbeam was over engineered but a bit slow and heavy, this one is a lovely bike but the colour is so damn wrong
Sounds awfully like my R51/3 BMW. How true is it regards the apparent weakness in the rear drive units? I’m told the crown wheel is of bronze construction?

with the correct oil (sae140) and properly shimmed, the rear drive is 100% reliable..
