    • @RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy

      Pepinos or Pepino dulce, Solanum muricatum, are related to tomatoes, peppers etc. Spanish to English Sweet Cucumber but not actually related.

    Gary, what is your opinion about the difference between gardening in Southern California and gardening in Australia? 🇦🇺

    • @RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy
      @RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Mostly the zone and soil I'm growing in. In Australia I was in the equivalent to USDA zone 9b, Inland, colder winters hotter summers and sandy soil. Here zone 10a, closer to the ocean, milder seasons and clay soil.

    • @myshelleseamore6319

      @@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy In Central Cali, where I am, we are in 9b also. It's tough to keep the plants from drying up in the summer. The only thing that worked for me, was a drip system I had years ago. That's long gone along with the sprinkler system. It's tough to hand water. But I got a tote this year. 👍

    • @RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy
      @RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This system works well for plants that require consistant moisture. I won't be using it for peppers and other plants that like to dryout a bit between waterings. The buckets are on bricks to elevate the roots above the water line. The soil mix wicks the water to the surface bringing it to the roots. It allows me to grow plants that would not survive the way I water my garden. Usually once or twice a week.
