The Quaker Meeting House in Pembroke, Massachusetts

  • Famed Pembroke, Massachusetts historian Elizabeth Bates gave us a guided tour of the Quaker Meeting House last April 2012, and today we share Libby's hospitality with you.
    Also known as the "Friends' Meeting House," this 1706 historic landmark at the corner of Routes 139 and 53 in Pembroke is one of the few "first period" structures still standing.
    Perhaps even more intriguing than the building are the gravestones outside marking the final resting places of Quakers who met and worshiped within.
