Banquet is "project" beer. Working on the yard, painting the house, staining the deck - always keep some Banquet on hand. For years I avoided it because of the stigma of the macros. But there is a time and place for it and it's delicious in those moments.
Agreed on how difficult this is. We did the bud light/coors light/miller lite with a group of us including my buddy who is Mr. Coors light and he couldn’t pick out Coors light…..4x over 😂
So Coors banquet is the king of American macro lagers (out of the popular huge corporations) so far in your videos !! My fav as well ! Nothing beats a Coors banquet in a stubby bottle while a hot day on the water fishing
Great video and results. I was anti-Coors for decades. About a year ago, on a whim, picked up a six pack of Banquet, my favorite go to beer, don't even give the other macro brewers a thought now.
It's great to see the blind tastings again. Love those videos. It was awsome to see the new blind in the video. Thank you Nate and to all of you at Tree House Brewery that made my day. Can't wait to visit Deerfield location June 12 when were down that way again. Cheers Brian from Canada
I do love how people say they can tell the difference, but when you see it in person you prepare your thoughts, your pallet and all preconceived notions. If it's a true blind test, your senses will play with your mind. I love your vidoes.
Love that last comment - just when I thought you were going to let us know which of the three you would drink on a warm summer day, you dropped a TRUTH BOMB - Julius!!!!!
High Life has been my go-to cheap beer since college. Banquet recently thrust back into the limelight and popularity thanks mostly in part to Johnny Lawrence of the Cobra Kai dojo.
Johnny Lawerence can’t be wrong!! I delivered beer from all 3 brands and I have to say I agree with your ranking but when I worked at a Budweiser distribution company they gave us a six pack of Budweiser that was made that day and it was amazing!
When I was in Golden, CO and took the tour I was actually rather surprised at how good, "The Banquet of Beers" tasted from the brewery. I was hesitant to talk about going to breweries on another's page but that might be a great series of teaming up with breweries, visiting, tasting and promoting each other to fight against the big ones who fight amongst themselves...
I love these videos. I am interested in other people's takes on beers and the tasting notes. I don't drink any of these, but coors banquet at the brewery is just different. It is the best of those 3 in my opinion. I am not a beer girl, though. I do love tasting beer! I only really enjoy stouts and porters every so often. Still love these videos!
BRO i thought i was the only one that noticed the heineiken banana note!! I ALWAYS say it to my friends and they never pick up on it. Makes it undrinkable for me hahaha.
Recently got to try Budweiser at Woodranch, and it tasted pretty good and crisp like a yeast-flavored rice wine with sweetness of malt and bitterness of hops while being down to earth and accessible for all Americans (especially if you’re a Mexican and or Filipino born an Angelino). Been wanting to try it since 2018 and nostalgia for American Beers.
Love these videos guys! And your interaction with everyone. It’s incredible to see such a wonderful product from a business that’s in such an explosive growth time to still take moments to connect with their followers. Bravo! Have you all ever considered a Kolsch taste test? I’ve tried so many local brewery Kolsch beers and even the imports and I find them all so unique and dynamic. I don’t think I’ve tried a Kolsch style ale that I’ve disliked ever. Also, if you guys are Beatles fans and would ever be interested, my brother hosts a podcast called Blotto Beatles where they have some beverages, discuss one Beatles song at a time and rank them. They’re local dudes too and I bet they’d love to add you to the brewery list of guests as they’ve had the Devils Purse guys and Sam Calagione on. Cheers!
It would be fun to see a video of the regional domestic beers - Narraganset, Rainier, Schlitz, Lone Star, and whatever else might be out there. Though might be hard to source all of those
I lived in St. Louis for a lot of years, so Budweiser was naturally everywhere. I always thought the same thing as this guy, that it was way too sweet. Never was a fan, but I still ended up drinking it a lot of the times since it would be on special a the bar I was at.
I'm going to show my age here Nate. I grew up sneaking my dads Olympia and I always thought it was the best macro lager of them all. I think it's still brewed by Pabst but sadly it isn't the same. It WAS the water (Tumwater) and a lot more!!
Oregon has the best beer culture of any state. You can fill up your car and fill up a growler. Had some exceptional vacations in Oregon enjoying its many craft beers. Hood River brewery that had Hop Lava comes to mind. Pared with a Jersey pizza pie!
I just drink beer occasionally, and I did research into what beer drinkers consider the best of the "mass market" inexpensive beers. Coors Banquet seems to be well respected, so I went with that, I enjoy it very much. I've had Bud a bunch in restaurants and stuff, it's fine.
Would love to see you do a japanese beer lineup next please. Something along the lines of Asahi, Sapporo and Kirin. I'm not sure if they're popular in the US but they're massive here in Australia.
My pallet is all over the place, depending on weather. In winter, when it’s cold, I like really dark beers. It summer I like something lighter and refreshing. I don’t care for anything Light, or IPA’s. (They taste like grapefruit to me.) The only beer I’ve ever dumped down the drain is a Michelob Ultra. 😂
There’s also something to be said for enjoying one of these beers after having a few craft beers. That’s for a couple of reasons. Sometimes you palate needs a break after drinking hazy IPAs, especially some of the extra soft, sweet and heavy-feeling ones. Also, drinking $8-$9 pints if you are out all night can get pretty expensive! Nothing wrong with downshifting to a less expensive lager. I’m a firm believer that every bar, even craft beer-focused bars, need to have at least one inexpensive beer on tap or in cans.
recently had coors at a baseball game being the cheapest option at about $5 for 12oz can. haven't tried bud in a long while but banquet had a hint of sweetness. I see why some people are choosing banquets recently.
Many years ago a DJ buddy of mine and I did a monthly gig at a divey spot in DC. We talked the owner into a 3 hour open bar with a $5 cover-caveat being it was beer only-and the only two choices were Coors Banquet and Corona. The Banquet wasn’t terrible actually…shockingly so.
Budweiser has always been my favorite. Especially frost cold. But i actually drank my first Coors Banquet beer today. And...sorry King. You've been overthrown.
Great video but using miller genuine draft probably would have been a better choice over high life and I definitely agree with you on the temperature they all should have been relatively similar temperature.and I'm drinking a banquet as I type good shit man
I'm suprised Pabst Blue Ribbion wasn't a contender in this analysis! Tends to be my go-to cheap domestic lager, but Coors has always been my runner up.
Banquet is my fav but can’t go wrong with budweiser when the pockets are hurting. 2024 in california u can get a 12 pack of bud for about 13-14 after tax vs banquet around 18
It’s so hard to tell beers like these apart when blind sampling! I’d love to see a video where customers try to identify Julius, Haze and Green in a blind tasting.
Yeah, i had a group of guys who swore how easy this would be and we did Budweiser/Banquet/high life/busch and the only one they got right was Budweiser bc of how sweet it was.
I hate banana ester in haze, but in Banquet, it blends so harmoniously with the rich malt profile as to speak more to the overall gestalt of the beer than just seem out of place as a constituent note. Look man, I'm sitting here with Monkish, North Park, and some Fidens in the fridge, but I'd still happily rip a tallboy of Banquet.
I always thought this too. Apparently, MDG wasn't introduced until 1985. It is the same recipe as High Life, which has been brewed since 1903, except it is cold-filtered rather than pasteurized like High Life.
Ive watched a lot of your tasting videos and you seem to take really small sips. Is this true? If so do the small sips make it easier to pick out nuances? Thanks!
i sample beer (and spirits, and coffee) all day every day and have a responsibility to be with it 100% of the time to lead our team that I take very seriously. i don’t need much and have been at it professionally for 15 years.
Pabst may have just beat them all! And this coming from a High Life fan as it was my grandfather’s choice, so..nostalgia. But something about Blue Ribbon!
Pausing before first taste Just know for me Miller High Life IS my Brand!!! But Coors beer (original/ Banquet) is 2nd Budweiser is 3rd and PBR is 4th Kinda unusual for a millennial generation like myself to love dad beers… but these plus any Craft beers beats light and ice 🧊 beers any day!!!
Full agree with the dim view of Budweiser and appreciation of Coors and MHL. I must say, High Life really shines out of a cold bottle though. Yall should do a battle of the East Asian Macros next : Asahi, Sapporo, Tsingtao, Chang, SIngha, etc !
Love these videos! Great job Nate. You mentioned the temperature difference. I always assumed you took them from the same cooling vessel...hmmm. I am not a fan of the macro beers, but back in the day I did drink my fair share of MGD, which is pretty close to High Life. Goes down easy....when cold! Cheers.

I'm a recent settler to the USA, I enjoy Banquet and High Life, but if I'm drinking High Life I prefer it out of the bottle.
I'm telling ya Schlitz is so good, needs to be in one of these videos. Maybe do a Milwaukee special, Schlitz, Blatz and old Milwaukee.
So Coors banquet is the king of American macro lagers (out of the popular huge corporations) so far in your videos !! My fav as well !

nice - always a good idea to revisit things!
Nate's buzzin' for this one, love to see it
gonna say the same lol
Miller High Life is my favorite but Coors Banquet has always been my close second. Cool video!
It's great to see the blind tastings again. Love those videos.

Fantastic video. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Banquet is a solid brew.
What about Narragansett and Yuengling as a blind tasting?
It's not a visit to Misquamicut beach without a Narragansett.
Next time!
Miller genuine draft is their “standard” beer. Hard to find though, hence the quote.
Excellent choice
- From a guy at G150. If you know, you know
No one is taking up for my Budweiser, so I have to chime in🔔!
Coors is my favorite of those three. Next try Pabst Blue Ribbon, Rolling Rock, and Lone Star.
I love watching these beer reviews. Cheers salud and PROST ✌️
Glad you like them!

feel so validated hearing about the banana heineken thing, people looked at me like i was insane when i said it
Recently brewed a Light Summer beer , Needed it to be Gluten Free, used Clarity Ferm, do you make a gluten free or reduced beer?
My picks are Miller, Coors, Bud. Done many taste tests, switched to craft beer years ago.
I lived in St. Louis for a lot of years, so Budweiser was naturally everywhere. I always thought the same thing as this guy, that it was way too sweet. Never was a fan, but I still ended up drinking it a lot of the times since it would be on special a the bar I was at.

High life and Coors Banquet are the only choices for my palate. Coors was one of the first major breweries to use cascade hops.
Same here man. But I'd prefer coors over high life just out of preference
Banquet beer is my go to 30 rack but sometimes, after mowing the lawn, crushing a bud heavy makes me feel good
God dang it - I wish you distributed to Oregon. LOL.
Oregon has the best beer culture of any state. You can fill up your car and fill up a growler. Had some exceptional vacations in Oregon enjoying its many craft beers. Hood River brewery that had Hop Lava comes to mind. Pared with a Jersey pizza pie!
I like all those premium beers but Miller High Life fits my wallet from the late 60's to the present 2020's.
awesome work man love it brother
Much appreciated
@@treehousebrewco would love to see more of treehouse via longisland Ny. Love you guys.

I love craft and traditional European styles, yet I always keep a sixer of Banquet in the beer fridge. It’s the classic American light lager.
👍🏻

it hit really nicely in this tasting for sure!
the banana note in Budweiser is so true
undeniable
It’s so hard to tell beers like these apart when blind sampling! I’d love to see a video where customers try to identify Julius, Haze and Green in a blind tasting.

One of my old friends had Miller High Life at his house like 8 years ago. I had one and quit hanging out with him😂

1) Coors Banquet
2) Budweiser
3) Miller High Life
Great video. I love the blind tastings of the macro brews. Well done on knowing your brews.
Glad you enjoyed it
Given Charlton is empty behind him, can we assume Nate was knocking back Bud heavies in the AM? Baller stuff.
Banquet in the 16oz aluminum bottles is my go to. I’m also of the opinion one pint is the perfect serving of beer, not 12oz.
Is High Life the standard Miller? I always thought Miller Genuine Draft was standard
I always thought this too. Apparently, MDG wasn't introduced until 1985. It is the same recipe as High Life, which has been brewed since 1903, except it is cold-filtered rather than pasteurized like High Life.
