  • Another anime analysis video coming out today. Following my link click videos, I thought I would make a video on why the first season of link click really pulled my heartstrings. This video is about link click and exploring the concept of regrets and how to deal with it. I hope you find this one to be a fun little video.

    The earthquake episodes broke me - why - because I really felt for Xiaoshi Cheng and how travelling to the past affected him, knowing he could do nothing. He was a total wreck after it and needed a lot of comforting

      I wanna share my thoughts for that episode! I think he could have done something different (like a massive turning point) during that dive. The reason he was angry at Lu Guang after is because he agreed to let him save the mother but then Cheng Xiaoshi realized that Lu Guang instructed him (hiding under the table inside their house) exactly how the boy's mother died - protecting his son while the earthquake was happening. While it seemed callous of Lu Guang, he couldn't risk changing the outcome (he must have seen how saving his mother would affect the outcome while using his ability) and stick strictly to the scope of their client's requests. I believe he understood that these events shaped who their client is today. I remember Lu Guang is also the one deciding whether they take on work or not and in reference to season 2, he probably took this request for personal reasons despite it being a heavy commission. I always thought of him being passive of Cheng Xiaoshi punching his face was taking responsibility - for accepting the commission and letting Cheng Xiaoshi live through the client's tragic events in life, and deliberately tricking Cheng Xiaoshi so that the past remains the same.

    Such a good analysis of link click and its message man, while season 2 seems to be touching the theme of ‘is everything truly fated if time flows backwards?’ the subtle messages and the episodic stories of season 1 will always be special to me

    That confrontation with Emma and CXS was peak anime/donghua experience. From the point of visuals, message, and omg the fucking OST the whole scene was peak! I’m loving how also the short interaction between CXS and Emma basically sums up the whole series and what previous tasks thought CXS. And also how CXS was emphasizing on Emma that he too was once lost but if you push on a ray of light will definitely shine upon you, just as he said that the sun rises on timing. PEAKKKK!!!!

    I really like the way the show emphasizes the human tendency to become removed from the present, with Cheng being fixated on changing the past and Lu being obsessive about preserving the future (neither being focused on the here and now). The show communicates that the only way to live without regret is to relinquish control and be grateful for the time you have. Interestingly even though the main pair are superhuman their real struggle lies in grappling with the struggles of being human and questioning whether shortcuts exist to alleviate pain and suffering.

    EXCELLENT analysis on Link Click and about regrets 👏
    Using such an empathetic character like CXS to portray the theme was a great approach by the creators 👏
    LG does appear to be the cold type, but I don't see him as cold as those similar to him. I think he can be empathetic too, but more on his loved ones.
    Anyway, I'm happy that you mentioned about CXS's remarkable character development. For some reason, only his flaws were more noticeable to many 😔

      @ProtagonistRayen  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you so much! And I agree Lu Guang might seem cold, but I think at the end of the day he totally cares, he just knows better than anyone else the consequences of changing the past.

    Nice! Yeah I love Link Click so much because it just really cuts deeply into the human experience and hard subjects like regret. This new season has been a bit of a shift, but still super enjoying it. Yeah def have regrets in my life that have really shaped who I am today and whose consequences have haunted me (ex. a ton of student debt)
