Why not use the radical sign.. (k^6)^(1/6)= (2^6)^(1/6) ; k=2 (removes both exponents 6 on both sides); or simply substitute by inspection algebraically.

First of all, the question is very poorly asked and too vague. In what domain are we looking for the solution: Real Set (R), Relative Set (Z), Rational (Q), Complex (C), Natural Number (N), etc.? Also, this is a case of an equation with just one(1) unknown variable, k. It is a waste time going into these details.

Поэтому и корней должно быть ШЕСТЬ, а не только 2 и - 2. да устно мы знаем что 2 и - 2 это два корня, но нужно ещё 4 найти. +еще необходимо показать "решение" а не просто устно написать ответ, этого недостаточно например в экзаменах, важна решение, даже если неправильно решил, многие учителя в первую очередь смотрят на решение, метод - как ты решил, чтобы понять насколько ты знаешь про это.

Unless otherwise stated, you’re expected to get all the possible solutions for problems like this, which you just did. Most times, you may be asked to find only the real values. It is a crime to equate powers just like dat without considering the value. You can only do that after you must have worked out a problem and then you only need to apply the laws of indices to getting the final solution. Anyways kudos to you Man👏

Yet another very bad YT maths video. Slow methods fail exams and competitions. As many other commentershave pounted out, this problem can be understood and then solved in about 20 seconds if you draw a circle in the complex plane.
Sluggish and basic steps stretched out time wise..constantly reminding us of very basic algebra ( second year high school algebra). These people are just plain gougers...wasting time for cash??

@@Alamaths Entiendo tu punto de vista. Toda ecuación puede resolverse de forma extendida o directa. Solo digo que para demostrar la necesidad de aplicar el esquema de solución que planteas hubiese sido interesante proponer dos variables, una de cada lado de la ecuación, o dos exponentes diferentes a los fes de obligarte a buscar una solución mediante el método matemático que planteas.
Yet another very bad YT maths video. Slow methods fail exams and competitions. As many other commentershave pounted out, this problem can be understood and then solved in about 20 seconds if you draw a circle in the complex plane.
