I have a 2015 forte and this actually helped find where that freaking cheap part is. Thank you for this as I now can replace that part and get rid of the dang code.
Glad this video helped you. Thanks for watching!
Your video is the only one that is the exact some as my car on the purge valve .thank you so much for sharing your videos. Eryck , from Maui , Hawaii
You're welcome. Thanks for watching!
Thanks, this helped me with a 2016 veloster
Thanks for watching!
Great great job on the video. So easy can’t wait to get the part and do it myself! :)
Thank you.
Thanks for the info
No problem.
Nice work!!
Thanks!
Nice work
Thanks!
These gas caps fail all the time. I've been through 3 of them when they stop clicking in place and they DO cause this error code when they no longer seal properly. It's very frustrating. The purge valve is the next most common culprit. They seem to fail every 40,000 miles. Thankfully its a cheap and easy thing to fix. Not many things to complain about on the Rio which has been unbelievably reliable and easy to work on for 10 years now.
Thanks for video! I replaced the valve and the light stayed on. How long did it take for your light to go away?
It took a day or two and the light went off.
Any tips on getting the hose off? Also is there a particular reason you disconnected the battery?
At 2:32 I show how to remove the hose. I disconnect the negative battery terminal in most cases when working with anything electrical. Better to be safe, then to possibly short out my new part or something worse.
Would this be the same for Kia forte koup 2010? I just got the code 😢 checked the cap myself haven’t gotten it yet
Looks like it's the same for a Kia Forte.
I still got the code. Purge operates fine. could this be vent valve or tank pressure sensor ? Need a hand on this one. Checked hoses dont notice any significant cracks.
It's one of 3 things. 1) Fuel cap 2) EVAP canister 3) Fuel tank vacuum relief valve. The 3rd one is the hardest to replace.
@@EpicHelp Thanks fixed it yesterday. Replaced fuel tank pressure sensor and canister vent valve! Cheers!
That's great! Thanks for sharing.
👍👌
I have a 2017 kia sportage the gad cap won't turn, i have code P455 large leak detected ,
It's a good idea to replace your gas cap if it won't turn. Not sure if that will fix your code, but it's worth a try.
When I squeeze it doesn't come off, any tips?
Are you talking about the electrical connector or the hose?
@@EpicHelp the electrical connector
You could try using your pliers to squeeze it and use your hand to pull off the connector. Wiggle it back and forth too in order to make it loose.
How many of these do you have? Just 1?
I only have one Kia Rio.
@@EpicHelp-,- canisters
Just one.
@@EpicHelp mechanic says the code is coming from something above the gas tank, they have to remove gas tank to fix it, does that sound right?
Yes, it sounds possible. Look at 0:15 in my video on the right side. There are 3 possible locations for the problem. 1) Fuel cap. 2) EVAP canister. 3) Fuel tank vacuum relief valve.
need to know your terms bro... Evap Canister is behind fuel tank.. That is the purge valve
Thanks for letting me know. I will work on this for my next video.
