Great tip regarding the aerial wires! I did notice on my Tello there seemed to be 2 sets of wires on the back legs and only one set on the front, so I kind of assumed they were antenna wires! My bebop has a similar setup on the back legs, you can see the flat antenna plates forming the back feet and the extra wires run along the back legs, most quadcopters have a similar setup, although on my hubsan the antenna wires are inside the rear legs! 😎

Hi thank you for the great comments, the only way to distinguish between CW and CCW is the colours of the wires. it is all to do with the direction that the brushes face inside the motor they will work in both directions but the wrong way round it will wear out quicker.I don’t think you will wear a motor out it is more likely to break through impact, they are supposed to last about 1000 hours. Great video and hilarious commentary. Would there be a way to increase the aerial antenna for better connectivity? Increase the aerial antenna and add a WiFi Repeater would make this Tello great for long indoor flights! Please let me know what you think! Thank you.
bo bo, the winding inside the base of the motor housings is what gives it the tune. If you could get another aerial set up from either dji or another aftermarket company then you could run 2 of them in parallel to the front motor housings underneath the front motors. You would have to be careful not to add to much length of wire though, as it could change the aerial’s tune. Theoretically it could give you about double the aerial signal strength, but it just might help with the connection while flying back toward you, because I’ve seen that in other videos that they don’t connect as well from the front.
