    Thank God I watched your video!!!! I broke the M3 motor, the same one as yours, and I was already down when I saw that double soldered black wire, the one for the aerial, you broke by mistake. I was not looking foward to do that connection, since I am not a master with the soldering iron. I saw a couple of people with different solutions, but most of them involed unsoldering the wires at the board. Not what I feel confortable doing. you had the best solution, thank God you warned us about the right wires!! when my motors come, I'll let you know how it goes!

    Great tip regarding the aerial wires! I did notice on my Tello there seemed to be 2 sets of wires on the back legs and only one set on the front, so I kind of assumed they were antenna wires! My bebop has a similar setup on the back legs, you can see the flat antenna plates forming the back feet and the extra wires run along the back legs, most quadcopters have a similar setup, although on my hubsan the antenna wires are inside the rear legs! 😎

    Great video!... I need to replace one of mine... The one thing I am unsure about is how to know which motor is CW or CCW?... Is it as simple as matching up the wire colors of the Tello to the wires of the replacement motor?

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You’ve got it, they are all colour coded you can’t go wrong, they will work in reverse but the life span is reduced 👍🏻👍🏻

  • @EstebanGuzmanMx
    @EstebanGuzmanMx 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey great tutorial and great crafting, i was just looking at a couple of other videos and the fix was kinda lousy. That being said, i have a couple of questions:
    1.- Im still not clear on how to diferentiate CCW from CW, i will go by the colors hope that helps me, but any other clue regarding that?
    2.- How often do you think you will need to replace motors? i saw another solution adding connectors to the wires so if you bust it again is easier to fix. but is that needed in regular life span? disregarding the looks, but with a good craftmanship i think looking could be passable.
    i busted mi left front motor taking a picture under an umbrela, it hit one of the arms, 2 propelers losts and the motor fell of. my spare parts are arriving on friday.
    Once more thanks for the effort

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi thank you for the great comments, the only way to distinguish between CW and CCW is the colours of the wires. it is all to do with the direction that the brushes face inside the motor they will work in both directions but the wrong way round it will wear out quicker.I don’t think you will wear a motor out it is more likely to break through impact, they are supposed to last about 1000 hours. I wasn’t keen on the connector plugs on the outside of the Tello is body and much prefer to keep everything under the cover but it is personal preference, for how easy it is to take it apart hiding the wires it’s not a problem. Thanks again for your Comments 👍🏻👍🏻🚁

      Would splitting the wires and adding other aerials of the same make add any distance I wonder? How are they tuned? There has to be a way ;)

    • @DavidReynolds-kr6yh
      @DavidReynolds-kr6yh 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      bo bo, the winding inside the base of the motor housings is what gives it the tune. If you could get another aerial set up from either dji or another aftermarket company then you could run 2 of them in parallel to the front motor housings underneath the front motors. You would have to be careful not to add to much length of wire though, as it could change the aerial’s tune. Theoretically it could give you about double the aerial signal strength, but it just might help with the connection while flying back toward you, because I’ve seen that in other videos that they don’t connect as well from the front.

    Thanks for the video, if I ever do break a motor on my tello I now have confidence in doing that repair, and not accidentally break the antenna wire. The only thing I would do differently would be to use heat shrink on the wire to keep it neater.

    • @DavidReynolds-kr6yh
      @DavidReynolds-kr6yh 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could probably use a dry lube, but don’t use any oils as they will eventually dry up from the heat and then might gunk up the motor which could burn it oit.
