    Bro that was a rollercoaster of emotions her naming like 4 different serious things they had to check for. 😭

    yeah that is one of the worst case scenarios. Good thing she followed up on it. Glad she’s gotten that colon polyp taken care of.

    I'm glad it was part of a misunderstanding and not definitive, and that she's feeling good enough to stream.
    I would find her twitter spaces from time to time but unable to understand what was she saying, I'm just glad! honestly, we need more Wamy!

    So glad Lamy-chan is going to be okay.. I was so worried about her this whole time.
    Lamy is one of the funniest and cutest snow elves I know. And not seeing her interact with Krorone or Botan-chan again would be so sad.
    Glad she's doing better, and it's not cancer. ^_^

    I remember when Vexoria confirmed on Twitter that she had breast cancer...
    The donothon she did for charity for cancer research, how she later commented that the operation and treatment were succesful and she was cancer free... And now her Live 2D model has a scar on one of her breasts as a reminder to herself and her viewers about the whole ordeal.
    But most of all I remember how scared she was about it and how very supportive every vtuber she was friends with was.

    So that risk test had the same energy as googling your symptoms anytime you feel bad
    "it's cancer, you're gonna die" Glad everything is okay with Lamy

      Honestly that wanting to google symptoms whenever I dont feel ok is what started my anxiety lol. I refrain from doing it now because I end up over thinking.

      @@Sams1802It's really easy to set you on a track to scare yourself shitless everytime something seems out of the ordinary. For me it's checking pulse or blood pressure (which I know is high, but under control). So I try to avoid checking as much as possible.

      That's you don't go for cancer tests without consulting with a doctor first. They are unreliable without supporting history, examination and investigations and pretty costly too. You need to rule out common causes first. Seems like she had gastritis which is pretty common. Polyps are often benign and big ones are easy to catch with radiological investigations.

    • @firstnamelastname8439
      @firstnamelastname8439 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This story is why you don't do stupid things like getting annual full body scans.
      Everyone has a couple wierd things in their body, the cost and risk of all the follow upss is greater than the theoretical benefits.
      Catching the polyp was lucky for her though (and a sign that she needs to cut back on the drinking).

    Doctor: Good news is that the WebMD diagnosis was false. And you have some internal polyps that you can steralize with alcohol.
    Lamy: Oh wonderful! I can do that!

    It's good that JP has such great medical care, they have to pay for medical insurance monthly, which results in them co-paying only a small percentage of their medical bills. So most ppl would just visit a clinic since they already paying for it monthly

    So it was like Mr Burns with many illnesses trying to push out the door at the same time?
    In all seriousness. I'm glad to hear Lamy is doing fine and she got everything checked out. Health related scares are really the worst

    Protip: whenever you run a medical test, you can get 1 of 4 results.
    A true positive, false positive, true negative, and false negative.
    Screening tests will prioritize avoiding false negatives, at the cost of more false positives, if need be, because the point of screening is to catch every case you can. Aka, screening is designed to be extremely sensitive.
    It's the follow up tests which are designed to eliminate all other possible causes of the screening coming up positive, these tests have high specificity for detecting a particular disease.
    This is also why sometimes, people are recommended to NOT get screening done.
    In some groups of people, the false positive rate is so much higher than the true positive rate that the harm caused by the stress of a positive test result and the risks associated with follow up tests (biopsies especially) are higher than the benefits of the few cases that they do catch.

    always try different hospital for check-ups and scanning. dont trust one source as it is because you might find something like lamy's case on first check up. some hospital or doctor loves to instill fear and worry that is not true on us to milk some money
    .
    ive said it like a year ago, that her chest can possibly growing cancer. while some viewers might think bigger chest is sexy on womans, having it growing at her age without being pregnant can be a dangerous sign, i dont feel excited when i see the clip about her growing chest because it smells death. many womans succumbed to the breast cancer at last stage because they find it too late thinking its nothing

    That's some impressive test, if it picks up colon polyps. In NA they don't even start testing for that until you're 50.
    The experience does show one of the "risks" of running some tests though; you can end up with false positives and freak out about them. That's not saying you shouldn't run said tests, but you're going to get stressed about it.

    It's good to get your organs tested regularly (like, once a year). Even if there isn't really anything serious, if you find something early, you can keep it from becoming a big deal later.

    Man I’m so happy Lamy is doing okay. When she had first said that it was inflammation of some organs, I immediately thought it was some kind of auto-immune disease. I had similar symptoms and got diagnosed with lupus. Thank goodness it wasn’t that or any form of cancer. It seems like the gastritis and the polyp where causing a lot of issues, so hopefully that’s the worst she has to go through.

    My aunt died from breast cancer a few years ago, so I tell people that they need to stay on top of that stuff, especially as they get older. I'm glad that Lamy is alright... cancer in any form is no joke.

  • @spidernevi
    @spidernevi 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Ah yes, overdiagnosis, a great souce of anxiety and stress. Like, there is really no need to screen if there is no indication, there are bound to be some false positives, and even if it's true positive there is a chance the disease may never develop at all and the treatment given may cause more harm

  • @cirmothe9
    @cirmothe9 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Doctor: So you might have cancer. Or you might not have cancer. We don't actually know how any of this works. But continue to pay us.

  • @willisbronze9984
    @willisbronze9984 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Isnt it kinda useless to get a cancer test in the first place? Like there are thousands of types of there its impossible to known, unless she has symptoms related to a certain type of cancer

    • @spidernevi
      @spidernevi 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah it's not really beneficial without proper indications, like breast or cervical cancer screening for women or if you have relatives with cancer. It will just cause anxiety like Lamy experienced
