      It's definitely not an easy decision. China is a much larger market for anime things than the west. The immediate choice would be to cut off the west to please China, but he didn't do that. I can say with 100% certainty if they had stayed in the Chinese market that it would be at least 3x bigger for them than the English audience by now, hololive was growing massively there. The man was behind the inception of Holo. Practically he alone guided the project through its extremely tough first period of no notability and sloooooow growth. Now that the operation is bigger, there's so much resource management on consumable and durable assets, the logistics thereof, personnel paperwork and documentation, the sheer paper trail of internal administrative endeavours, projects and company collabs... and unless something has changed, Yagoo was the direct overseer of the Holostars initiative, a pet project of his.
    It's a lot, a _lot,_ of work. A weaker, less resolute CEO would have cumbled into a pile of trembling debris long ago.
    At least I hope the fans' demonstrations of care and support are a smidge of help in his darker hours. We're not on Yagoo's payroll, we show love because we want to; that's gotta count for something.

      Yagoo probably has had to make some tough decisions as well over the years from graduations & terminations of talents. When to set personal feelings aside & make hard business decisions that will better the company going forward. I don't envy him cause it's a difficult job being the CEO of a massive endeavor. You can tell by images of him that some of that stress has gotten to him. Yet he keeps trucking along despite of everything around him.

    • @UltraZulwarn
      @UltraZulwarn ปีที่แล้ว +59

      Adding to all this, perhaps it may sound a bit corny, but Yagoo most likely has carried even more stress because he actually cares about the company, and not just in term of financial growth.
      The truth of the matter is that Cover Corp was a tech start up, but somehow exploded into a niche yet high profile international phenomenon and it hasn't showed any sign of declines.

He envisioned Hololive to be a platform where people can express themselves and pursue their dreams of entertaining and inspiring others through their creativity. It’s a completely human movement, as strange as that sounds. I can feel the passion, from a casual chatting stream to HoloFES. I know Yagoo builds good working relationships with the talents, and wants to not only support them by providing what they want or need, but ensure they are healthy and happy. He was probably crying during their 1on1 interview, but Coco kept trying to make it cheerful with random jokes. Theres not much of a freedom when you have to answer to the investors. He did what he can in his capacity as the CEO of his own company.
    A solo boss working on their own roadside stall alone, would spend most of their day preparing for business, another part for managing the store and the last remaining time of their day to rest and sleep. Depending on the stall. Workload would be reduced with hiring a coworker, but its hard to guarantee the quality. And then you have to consider training the employee and also being prepared in case something happened. You can hire more people, but then more things you need to care about. Of course there are also the boss from hell, who treats employee like shit and they cant do anything about it because its the only job that is willing to take them.

      @@zeroyuki92 Exactly.
      Yagoo has likely made some calls for short term benefits to keep it afloat, and he's certainly has made some hard calls too (I imagine, her own fault for breaking contract or not, it wasn't easy letting Rushia go, with how profitable she was for them) but he's always tried to keep the long term goals and future benefits coming.
      Like he could have thrown Coco and Haachama to the wolves for the China situation but instead, Cover stuck with them, terminated the CN branch (including its own line of talents) and then decided to try and make a major move into the EN market since there was at least an interest already.
      To say Myth and EN as a whole was a very, very profitable short term and long term investment is a understatement. Arguably it may not give the same raw capital returns as China would have at that time but its making them profit and its giving them huge clout.

    Just shows that Yagoo does care alot. He has alot of people he cares for (His family, his staff, his talents, his company) so I can imagine that the man does go under alot of stress, specially during major events like Holofes, Splash summer and more. To get the server, equipment and talents ready. But I can also image it being very rewarding once everything is a major succes.
    Yagoo also is the person to own up to himself, when the server wasn't ready for the first day of Splash summer and it got delayed, he made the first day of Splash summer free for everyone to see. When there are talents that leave the company like Sana or Mel, he does so with a heavy heart. I can only imagine how Yagoo must have felt when he couldn't protect Coco from everything that was going on with the Asia/Taiwan incident.
    I'm glad Yagoo is the father figure for so many of his talents.

Not some ivory elite who had success gifted to him since the day he was born like so many of the talentless idiotic CEOs who’ve never worked a day in their lives
    On the other, my god I can’t imagine the stress he’s had to go through, from the massive and sudden growth, having the entire government of China against you, all the bullshit drama of internet nonsense, and all the usual nonsense, I hood he’s been able to break away from Japan’s *awful* work culture and get some professional support when he needs it.
