I'm pretty sure that was their intention, which is how Lamy ended up in R. It feels like they wanted a name that had some sort of appeal in English again just for the extra cool factor.
Took a moment to look at their pfp for the discord and man is it fun, all down the line just aww that's so cute then it's fubuki getting a bad massage from loki "Aight fubuki fangirl image" Then ayame being cute And finally I can't tell wtf korone has as hers but it intrigues and confounds me
It's what she thinks Scizor (the pokemon) looks like just based on it's name alone. She did two streams where she drew pokemon based only on how their names sounded and came up with quite a few blursed images that are all meme worthy. She seems to have a particular fondness for the Scizor one though.
Korone is known for using off-the-wall pfps and usernames. I remember an Among Us collab she was in a while back were she had the name "paradise". I didn't even question the name, I just figured it was Korone being Korone. Then someone commented that she had to create an account to join the game and she couldn't change her automatically assigned name for some technical reason. I had no idea.
i knew why because if it's OKBL it will be mistaken as Okayou Korone Bacon Lettuce (tho it would've been fine if it's OKSL or OKBY but i guess that's they're last names)
last name? japanese culture write their names as family name first, personal name second. so Nekomata Okayu would be Nekomata as her family name as Okayu as her personal name. So Botan and Lamy are the correct names to use.
Pretty sure she said kurokami no Mio (black hair) not kuro ookami no Mio (black wolf). The pause had nothing to do with it since she paused it after said kurokami and using の after that.
@@wakidokitranslation3856 I see. So if kurokami means Black hair? And if seperate it individualy means Black and god respectively. Im quite new to Japanese and still learning .So I have to ask. How is Kurokami written as Blackhair? If so ,does that mean Shirakami means White hair? Or is it something else? Im sorry if this bothers you but Im quite curious.
Kami have different meanings "god, paper, hair, etc". They have different kanji. If you have ever watched the Gintama anime, there's also pun about a god and paper. And sometimes Pekora said "kami kami kami" right? It's also has different meaning "amazing/incredible".

Japanese has no "L" as we know it, sounds like the La in Lamy's name are instead represented with ら/ラ "Ra" when written in Japanese characters. So their team name ended up with an R instead of an L, I assume, out of habbit of using R in place of L normally
So Japanese language mixes up R and L cause it doesn't have a proper pronunciation for one of the sounds. This is why if you straight translate Lamy's name from JP to EN you may get Ramy instead. Now look what happens if you keep Lamy's L in the group name instead of changing it to R. OKBR becomes OKBL BL = Boy's Love. I think you get the picture...
Like 2 answers above, they also make it OKBR because they didn't want the "SM OK" (Sadist Masochist) case repeated, if they used L, it would be "OK BL" (Boys Love)
