    Had goosebumps throughout the video. I felt sad for Emperor Sutoku. This video tells us what he had gone through in his life and what forced a noble spirit like him to turn into a dreadful Tengu.

    Wow that's so sad. But the power of the curse make sense...it was literally written in Imperial blood. The Imperial family needs to continue to show his spirit respect if they want to manage his curse...

    Wow. I knew the Genpei War and after, but this adds another angle to it.
    Emperor Go-Shirakawa must have felt a chill down his spine when Yoshitsune was hunted down. A Minamoto who would accept his gifts was his last chance at influencing the new Japan. He likely thought it was the curse in action.

    Great and interesting video, like many legends, in my perspective I think the story of Emperor Sutoku can also convey moral and ethical lessons. It can be seen as a cautionary tale about the consequences of political intrigue, betrayal, and the abuse of power. To remind people of the importance of justice and fairness in governance. Also until nowdays Emperor Sutoku is often portrayed as a tragic figure in Japanese folklore and literature. His exile and subsequent transformation into a vengeful spirit are seen as unjust and pitiable, evoking sympathy from the people who know his story. As this tragic aspect of his legend adds depth and emotional resonance to his story.

    Emperor Sutoku was consumed by malice, grief, resentment, jealousy and hatred towards imperial court and become an Onryo-tengu the japanese vengeful ghost in tengu form? 🤔

    • @ZENUPYourLife-withSanaSakura

    I would love to hear your opinion on europeans having japanese tattoos or tattoos inspired by japanese images....I love the designs, but I don't know enough about the culture and don't want to be rude or have japanese people role their eyes when they see a european overusing japanese images. Also I would love to know, the meaning of different creatures and designs....for example what is the difference between a red and a gold dragon? What do they stand for? And are japanese people annoyed by foreigners using the idea of a samurai and exaggerate their image and kind of misuse it?
    Thank you for your videos! Much love

    Sana, is onryō related to tengu in anyway? Wasn't Sutoku considered an onryō?
    Thank you for this video I learned so much.

    • @ZENUPYourLife-withSanaSakura
      @ZENUPYourLife-withSanaSakura  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question! "the Three Great Grudge Spirits of Japan" = the three great Onryo. So Sutoku became Onryo. But Tengu ≠ Onryo.
