You're still putting chemicals on your hair only difference is they're less aggressive than bleach or a high colour.

if its a semi-color dye it still has chemicals but not as strong as the permanent color which is good. Ur color looks bomb!

Nykia Rodriguez actually that is incorrect there are a lot of semi-color dyes like Manic Panic (a vegan vegetable based dye) that do not have chemicals 🙂

Ok so....look at it this way...if you had a black piece of paper and you drew a picture with a red marker, you would barely be able to see the picture, if at all. If you get a brown or white piece of paper, drew pictures in red, the red would be quite visible.
Here’s the point, for people with dark hair, applying color on dark hair makes the color visible only in lighted environments. If you really intend to see color, whether it be highlights or else, the dark color must lightened, which will involve some form of bleaching to remove color.

No slight to you and I think it turned out beautifully. You did an excellent job. We could see the color more on the ends of the hair strand because those areas were lighter time begin with.
My hair is darkest brown, with about 10% gray. I want to apply a black color that has a blue base. The results will be that the dark brown areas will appear black. You will be able to see the blue color quite well in the areas that are grey beacuse there is no color there.
I was making the point that applying red, blue, purple, etc over brown/black hair will generate highlights. If one really wants to see color deep in the hair, some form of bleaching or the lifting of dark pigmented color is required.

Gloria DeJesus yess I do!! It’ll be brighter in person. The camera didn’t do the color justice. It was really pretty. I suggest you leaving the color in longer than 30 minuets to fully let the color saturate in your hair. This is if you aren’t using a developer. If you are I only suggest leaving the color on for 30 minuets. 🤞🏽💛✨
