I'm a licensed cosmetologist and I think you did a great job on yourself. If you're not licensed, you should get licensed because you seem to have that skill and seem to be very methodical about how you do your hair and that's what school was all about. :)
People don't understand going natural is a process and takes time to get your hair like this, every product won't work for everyone but I follow you and I'm getting there but I do a lot of protective styling while doing so. I finally got edges back end from being thin and bald, rest of hair longer. You are absolutely amazing! Love, love, love❣️❣️❣️
Finally a video with a woman with a sponge like mine that showed us how to work that thang! I am over the good hair videos with the natural because the results are not the same... Your hair is beautiful and you did that! Boost of confidence given lol... Thanks a million! My hair is so out of control!! Thanks lady
Hey, healthy hair is good hair... Just because someone's texture is different than yours does NOT make their hair "good hair." Just food for thought. 😊
I have only been subscribed to your channel less than a month, and I have learned so much from you. Your clients are blessed to have you taking care of their hair🌹🙏🏾. I'm a fab 53 who returned to natural- it will be four years in November, and as an educator by career, it is so inspiring to see you be so passionate about healthy hair🤗
why you gotta make this looks so easy? lol i didnt see not one sweat bead fall down your face. its such a struggle for me to straighten my hair. often times i give up in the middle of blowdrying 😂
if do a round motion with you flat iron when you reach the ends,, your ends will be smoother and your hair will have some nice volume. that is what I do and love it.
I don't think you understand how much i appreciated this video! Out hair texture is the same pretty much and so is the length so this was sooooo helpful!!
I've been on my "natural hair" journey for about 6 mths now and giiiiiirl, it's been a struggle. i've so close to putting a relaxer in my hair. lmbo but i definately have noticed a difference in my texture. I swear I love watching your hair vids. They motivate me and I feel like you can say no wrong when it comes to hair. 😁😁😁
I love watching your videos for 2 reasons. For 1 we have the same hair type and for 2 you give me hope to wear my hair. Keep it up. Thanks fir sharing. Love it !!! 😍😍😍
It's nice to see another cosmetologist doing her thing. I'm also a cosmetologist and like to pick the brains of other cosmetologists. I trim my own hair and it's a pain in the but. Your press came out beautifully. Xoxo
1. Conditioner 2. Plastic cap 3. Then take your towel & put it in the microwave for maximum warmth to work with the conditioner. I do this when I don't want to use the dryer. Nice short cut!!!
Tierra J Beauty Hey love your hair! very thick and a nice length!. OK with that being said..MY NATURAL HAIR IS DESTROYED!!😭 I got my hair colored a couple of months ago AND my hair start breaking off badly and no matter what I do it stays dry. Do you think I should cut all of my hair off in start over? or do you think I should let it grow out in cut off the damage little by little? I'd already cut my side's and back low, but the top is still long. oh did I mention I also suffer from heat damage which this was the first time I had a blowout.I'm just SO OVER this NATURAL hair mess. My Stylist did my blowout and color my hair. NO she didn't bleach it, she used a box color. If you can help me I will really appreciate it!! thank you!!
LoveLife&Laugherwiththeguynes start to deep condition your hair at least twice or once weekly. Add some extra virgin olive oil for added moisture. Get a good trim. You may need to add a good protein treatment to bring the strength back. But dc. It should come back.
This just gave me life. I just had a Dominican blow out done and my roots are frizzing up. I know next time to do it myself. BTW YOUR HAIR TURN OUT WONDERFUL
Girl... I subscribed so fast just now! Excellent video, excellent technique, and excellent results! Probably the best natural hair self-video I've seen. Keep up the great work.
You did a great job. Very inspiring. I have just started doing my natural hair myself after a lifetime of permed hair and your video was very encouraging. Thanks sister girl.
I love your videos. They're super informative and the way you explain everything makes it so easy to try to do it at home yourself. Your hair is really growing in so nicely.
You did a fantastic job! You did not jack up the cut! It looks lovely. I live a very humid climate. How do you keep your hair from frizzing up when you go outside??
Love it😍😍😍you're so precise! Thanks for the details on how you achieved such a flawless silk press. Also, if I lived near you, I would definitely trust you with my natural hair!
This video is so inspiring! I love it because not everyone has that thick, long hair and you represent us ladies that have medium fine, neck length hair!
Your hair doesn't revert from humidity? How do you keep it that straight? My hair is 4c and it won't even get all the way straight and it lasts all of 2.5 seconds 😂😫
I use the texture manageability system by beautiful textures I think, whenever I straighten my hair. I have 4c hair as well and and soon and I ou the flat iron down it be like "poof". I spend about 4-5 hours deep conditioning and everything. I tried it a few years ago. I only straighten my hair once a year so it qorks great for me. Once you want your curls back just wash your hair and deep condition especially if you used a ton of heat while straightening.
plush furr It might be your flat iron. When I use to use my old one, my hair would be frizzy and dull looking. When I bought a new one and used it, my hair was bone straight and I didn't have to use a lot of heat.
Tasha P. My flat iron brand new. I had it a while b4 i used it. It may jus b me not doin it correctly r havnt mastered the technique yet. I hav the vanity planet vibrating flat iron.
plush furr Oh ok. I'm not sure how often you put heat on your hair but practice makes perfect or you could try going to a salon and see if they could help you figure out why that happens.
This is the best tutorial that I have seen so fair. I want to do my silk press at home because I don't trust everyone in my hair. U did a very good job
My daughter and I experience the same issue with the water. Made my hair hard and brittle. What was recommended that really worked and restored my hair is buying the purified bottle water and washing your hair with it.
Girl my hair grows in layers, and one side grows faster than the other. So I have to constantly cut the longer side which makes it super healthy looking but the other side I don't want to cut as much and grows so slow so it's always looking rough...so annoying!
I really enjoyed this video. I am a DIY type too when it comes to my natural hair as well. I have ditched my stylist, and my hair has grown so much since, and I love it!!! Thank you, so much for providing product info in the description part above. I love vloggers who do this. I have been searching for a blow dryer similar to yours that come with that kind of comb nozzle. I attempted to buy one for my dryer but it didn't fit at all, lol. So, I just use the flat head nozzle that came with it, and use the tension method when I blow dry and it works very well. The only thing I have not attempted is dying my hair myself. I haven't put color in years. I will have to get brave, and do it one day, lol!
Really love you Hair and the texture because it’s similar to mine. How long have you been natural? This is my 3rd time going natural and always around the 7 month I get impatient and perm it. How do you manage?
😮 she made this all look So incredibly simple. I have a 10 y/o daughter who has middle back length hair and DESPISES me attempting to do any type of care to her hair and wants to get it permed. I’d love to be able to do this for her.
Omg amazing!!!! We have the exact same texture and I struggle with mine getting straight. I just gave up! You just gave me hope thank you 🙏🏽 so much for sharing I’ll give you’re routine and products a try keep posting!!!!
Wonderful vid, relaxing to watch. Best of all NO WEAVE!! I am so sick of women with hair shoving fake pieces in and on. I liked that she conditioned before and after coloring. The cutting was amazing-I can never my back straight. Liked the finish. Wish my granddaughters would go back to natural or at least their own hair.
beckad2185 they last a long time. I got mine in my kitchen years ago and still use them. I have some mini ones by them as well I got from Belk store a long time ago and they're still kicking too.
So therapeutic to watch! You really got me reconsidering this natural 4c hair stuff and switching up my hair regimen from weaves and to silk blow outs❣️ Thank u for the inspiration❣️
Girl, u got skills!! I do not have the time and patience to do all of those steps to my hair, I'm a certified lazy natural. I am a bun it and forget it type of gal. Good job!!!....I love your videos🌹🌹🌹😘
I’m your biggest fan! love your videos. don’t even have to make an appointment @ the salon. watch your videos & get my hair RIGHT to a T every time. Thanks girl!🫶🏽
This is why we don't need weave for real! No matter how short our hair is there is a way to make it look bomb❤ Plan ahead of your days and get the hair game up sis
I want to start out by saying you are very talented. First off I want to say that I have for girls with all different textured hair (relaxed, 3b, 3b covered treated, but with no bleach, and 4b) with all of them I battle split ends and dryness. Also dress scalp. What products do you recommend that I use so when I straighten their hair it does not weigh it down or make it greasy looking. I want it to be flowy and shine. Tia
Very nicely done! I love a good trim! I used to be scared to get a trim (because of wanting to keep that length) but healthy ends are waaaay better than raggley ends with length lol.
My hair is exactly like yours , the sun beats down on my hair and I've struggled so long to keep it moisturizer , I love the tips you added ! Very helpful
I got that blow dryer because of you and I love it❤️❤️❤️ and design essentials is the bomb! Thank you for all the healthy hair care tips I appreciate you so much!😘
I'm glad I found you girl. My hair texture is very similar to yours and I like how you walk step by step of what you use and do to your hair. I been natural for 3 yrs and I am still trying to figure this thing out. I am getting ready to big chop and start over. First time I did not chop, I tried to transition.
Thank you!! The PYT iron is actually Titanium. Titanium allows more heat to pass through resulting in hotter plates so you have to be careful with the temp depending on your texture. Ceramic is more "safe" for most hair textures. I'm starting to like titanium though for my hair because I have really coarse hair and like a silky look, but it just depends on your texture!
I don't know why but every time I watch your videos I feel like I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!! You're Amazing Girl!!

What temp do you put the blebird blow dryer on for a good blow out/silk press?????? @tierraJ
I swear every licensed cosmologist uses design essentials 😂😂😂.
Abibat Iriafen Not "every"!
Because its great lol . Especially for ethnic hairs
I went to cosmetology school and that's what we used. Lol
Mine doesn't. She wont even tell me what she uses

Omg We Literally Have The Same Exact Hair ! Length Wise And Texture. I Just Moved To Arizona And Yes I'm Going Through The Same Thinggg 🤦🏽♀️
Tanishia McCauley wow i just moved to Arizona also and this heat is tearing my hair up

I hate that my hair grows in layers too
Valeria Monice in
That’s an awesome thing I actually have to cut layers in my hair. :)
Girl my hair grows in layers, and one side grows faster than the other. So I have to constantly cut the longer side which makes it super healthy looking but the other side I don't want to cut as much and grows so slow so it's always looking rough...so annoying!
Everyone’s hair grows in layers lol
My one side is thicker and grows faster. Then I chop at it and make a mess lol
I really enjoyed this video. I am a DIY type too when it comes to my natural hair as well. I have ditched my stylist, and my hair has grown so much since, and I love it!!! Thank you, so much for providing product info in the description part above. I love vloggers who do this. So, I just use the flat head nozzle that came with it, and use the tension method when I blow dry and it works very well. The only thing I have not attempted is dying my hair myself. Ceramic is more "safe" for most hair textures. I'm starting to like titanium though for my hair because I have really coarse hair and like a silky look, but it just depends on your texture!
