Many people who do the DNA Ancestry thingy find out that they have a small amount of Native American ancestry. Some also find out that they have African American ancestry. The former they tend to yell from the trees as this is seen as a positive; the latter, not so much. I am 25% Native American. However, I don't claim to be Native American on forms, and I don't identify as a Native American. I don't look particularly Native American, and I wasn't raised "on the Rez." I am not part of those cultures and never have been. Thus, I would consider it unethical if not offensive to claim to be Native American.

I'm familiar with her because there was a video of a Wayne County weekend arraignment in front of Magistrate Burton where a defendant freaked out and was hit with a higher bail (the case was out of the 35th District Court in Plymouth) and I think Ms Medina was representing that defendant (I know the video's out there; I forget if Old Squishy had that case or if it was someone else's channel). Magistrate Burton tore the defendant a new one while that defendant was acting out and subsequently apologized to Ms Medina for his tone (which was justified since the defendant wasn't listening to a damn thing Magistrate Burton said). Reminds me of an incident I had several years ago. Waiting at the airport. Flight was delayed. Irate woman was berating a gate agent over the situation, and kept demanding that the agent speak to her "In English! G D I!!!"

Ms Medina must be one of the newer MIDC attorneys assigned to Judge DiSanto's court. I'm familiar with her because there was a video of a Wayne County weekend arraignment in front of Magistrate Burton where a defendant freaked out and was hit with a higher bail (the case was out of the 35th District Court in Plymouth) and I think Ms Medina was representing that defendant (I know the video's out there; I forget if Old Squishy had that case or if it was someone else's channel). Magistrate Burton tore the defendant a new one while that defendant was acting out and subsequently apologized to Ms Medina for his tone (which was justified since the defendant wasn't listening to a damn thing Magistrate Burton said). Speaking of MIDC attorneys, I don't think we've seen Chris Schemke in a while.
That said, Racist Dad is lucky that Judge DiSanto didn't lock him up for his comments towards Ms Medina. I think we all know what would happen in front of certain other judges (Judge Simpson)...

Freedom of speech is critical to an open and free society. Words can't physically hurt someone. The judge has absolutely no legal authority to reprimand anyone regarding their conversation with someone else that happens outside of an active court hearing. Unless it's a verbal physical threat. This attorney needs to learn to have thicker skin and grow up. She ran to the judge and tattle tailed like a little child because her feelings were hurt. This judge needs to learn her role limitations. Good grief.
