One of my first sleds , had a Massey , Sno Prince , Skirould and a Old Olympic . The MAssey had a blown head gasket and we never found on and sold it . This was in 1975
Our Massey dealer sold a lot of these. Heavy and solid, gave a very good ride, but weighed a ton. I thought they looked pretty good, kinda reminiscent of the MF tractors being built at the time
He said "not good in powder" lol. We had (in 67) a Ski Daddler by AMF. This thing would get stuck almost everywhere! And it weighed a ton! We actually had to have a tow truck to pull our snowmobile out of the snow.
Very cool sled! I had one given to me 20 years ago but was missing the engine. It was half buried into the ground so the track was like new. I think it was a formula Mark 1 or something like that? I gave it away wish i'd kept it. What a time in our history when EVERYONE was building snowmobiles! My Aunt rode one of these old MF's and grampa had a Snow Cruiser,Rupp,Cat's etc and apparently that MF was the most reliable of them all but not sure what model it was. I guess it always towed the others home. Lol
Arlyn Moen I thought I read somewhere onetime there were over 300. There were piles of them that's for sure! That David's vintage snowmobile page has them all on there I think.
Thanks for looking, Took our ski whiz on a vintage fun run last year and wound up pulling another sled that had problems . The ski whiz did a good job.

Yes i think there had to be over 100 manufactures. Every implement dealer, hardware store even sears and wards sold a snowmobile!
