Literally no one does more for the Socal trout fisherman than Sea spanker. Best channel by far, I can't even imagine how many more fish I've caught after finding this channel. So many trout because of these videos!
Rob I used info from your video here and we nailed them today at SARL. No one else was really getting bit near us. We were fishing on toad road just south of the boat dock. After no bites until 10:30 a.m. I decided to go and buy some hatchery brown powerbait, We used 6-inch leaders , And I literally got bit within 5 minutes of being back. And then it was fish after fish. My nephew Tyler who is 11 broke his PB twice today, and my nephew Noah who is seven broke his PB as well. Granted they were only 3 lb trout but for them it was a great day of fishing. It was tough conditions there was almost zero visibility, but getting debate down near the bottom is what worked for us. Everyone around us was coming over to ask what we were doing different. Thanks for making this video, it was exactly what the doctor ordered for today's fishing trip!
@@funkehouse HELL YEAH!!! Thats what I like to hear. So stoked you guys got into some, especially in those conditions. Its definitely not easy but you guys did it. Well done 🤘
@@SeaSpankerOutdoorsDo you have a suggestion for me if my Carolina keeper is sliding? I used some for the first time this past Saturday and after 4 casts I noticed that it had slipped down (my “leader” was much shorter than before). I use max a 1/4oz egg sinker with 2lb izorline. Is the 2lb too thin or what would you suggest? Also, are the size 12 mosquito hooks light enough to float with a Berkley power worm?
@@asus9596 it should be fine with a 1/4oz. I have had Carolina keepers that were defective here and there, and they would slip. Just use a new one and it should work. If not, when i use a 1/2oz i use 2 carolina keepers to prevent slipping. When I use berkley trout worms i go down to a #14 mosquito hook. The 12s sometimes are too heavy for the berkley worm
I appreciate the tips and advice in your videos. Im pretty new to trout fishing but thanks to your videos i was able to catch a 7.8 lb lighting at lake hemet last Wednesday. Got it on 4lb test and i forgot the net in the car so i had to fight it awhile to beach it. Thanks for all your well made videos
@SeaSpankerOutdoors it was funny I had an expensive ultra light setup, couldn't get bit on it. Then my girlfriends 30 dollar walmart setup gets it done with a toad. I used one of those automatic pole holders I saw on one of your videos. They work great, plus u don't need an indicator or bell. Thanks again for all your great videos, u need your own TV show already
Thanks for the tips! We are getting dumped on in NC PA so the water is almost certainly gonna be blown out chocolate milk this weekend. Good luck everybody!

Sea spanker do you know where I can get floating mice tails that float all day long. The other day I realized that the Berkeley mice tails start to sink after being in the water after an hour. I’m using a size 12 bait holder hook on them.
I dont think any of the floating baits out there will float all day. That said check out Perters Custom Trout Worms they have “super floating” worms and mice tails that float really well peterscustomtroutworms.com/
Hey, Professor Rob !! 😊 I just ordered a few spoons from RHA..(too bad there's not a discount ) anyway whats a good knot for the spoons ?... ty.. GOD bless .
I think its pronounced "High Sea", i was saying something similar to u until i heard another youtuber say high sea and it made sense to me😅. Because of u i give the ol mudhole a try once a year.............damn that didn't sound right....yall know what i mean😅😂 🎣

Always a good time to learn something new. Thanks once again!
Best trout videos. I love your content! Very well explained as well. Glad to hear the updates about the Katana rods production! Can't wait to get one.
Thanks I really appreciate it 🙏
That is real good info right there about fish being at the bottom when it is muddy. I never thought about that before.
Yeah its crazy. I always figured the fish were completely blind when the water was like that 🤷🏼♂️
Another great vid! Thanks for all you do, we learn so much. Can't wait for your Mid video.
Thanks. Fingers crossed we will get into something epic 🤞
Again great info, thanks for working so hard for all the fisherman!!
Thanks Lee 🤘

Thanks a million Rob for sharing your videos. You the best 🙌🏻👍
Great video Rob. I like those and will purchase those neoprene waders for colder months in the Sierra's .

What was going on at SARL? No people there? It was obviously a week day! I have never seen it that empty in 30+ years!
If it was a Thursday they are closed every Thursday for stocking and maintenance. If it was another day Im not sure what it was 🤷🏼♂️
Now that is the way a sportsman fights and enjoy catching a fish..Not side surfing them in Jiggy Joe style. Good job!
Haha thanks. Ill get him squared away. Hes still learning and gets a bit excited haha

Hey, Professor Rob !! 😊
I just ordered a few spoons from RHA..(too bad there's not a discount ) anyway whats a good knot for the spoons ?... ty.. GOD bless .
I prefer to use a duo lock snap with the RHA’s size# 0 or #00. I tie that on with a Palomar Knot
@SeaSpankerOutdoors will the fly rings do ?...you know the ones you've used for the jigs .
@@Edwardcruzz13 I dont suggest those as they are just too small
@SeaSpankerOutdoors ok ty Sir..(I LOVE YOU, MAN !!!!..😁
I have a question when you double uni knot does the uni knot effect the casting..?
No, with light line like you use for trout the knot is very tiny
any tips for night fishing for trout?
Its very similar to day time fishing just use glow baits and lots of scent
Awesome video bro stay fishy Redmond OREGON
Hi! If you connect your braid mainline to a fluorocarbons leader, what is the reasonable length of the leader?
1ft 1/2 - 2ft
On my socal set ups I usually do a 5-6’ leader on my Pyramid set ups I do about 9-10’. Longer rod longer leader.
@@SeaSpankerOutdoors Thank you, I was thinking the same length with the rod.
I seen you at Disneyland on Friday!!!
