  • Don't have $400? No problem! This won't be quite as good as a VH11, but it can work for those on a budget.

Perfect, I see it as a proof that the Go controller works just as well as the VH-11 controller. However, I would see it's purpose as DIY controller for DIY hihat cymbals. BTW, Jobeky drums is using this controller with their hihat.

It's not as good as the vh11, the construction of the piece is not as high quality as the vh11. But I'm really glad it's out there. It performs really well. I'm surprised no one has made something like this before.

Hi there! I have a alesis dm6 brain, which l am swapping to a Roland TD 3. I have a go drum hi hat controller with single input . My hat hat cymbal are from a dm10 pro 12 inch, my questions are !
1.Will both dm10 hi hat upper and lower cymbals work with my Roland TD 3 brain directly or via godrum hi hat controller
    2. What does the lower hi hat cymbal actually do, and do l really need it?
Please can you give me a answer as soon as possible within 24 to 48 hours, l live in UK, so don't forget the time difference! I wait your reply 65 drums

Hello from France, thank you for this very useful video. I didn't know this GoEdrum trigger. I was not ready to spend $400 for a VH-11 but I was not happy with the FD-8 pedal. I've bought the GoEdrum trigger for my old TD4-KX2 drum set and it's working perfectly with the VH-11 setting. I'm using it with the CY-5 stock cymbal but I'll change for a CY-12C because the CY-5 is not well balanced. I recommand this trigger for people who want to have a good experience for a really attractive price.

    Love the channel, it’s excellent!
With regards to the stand mounted HH v rack mounted....I honestly do not see/feel or hear enough, if any, of a difference to warrant the cost of the VH11, not including a HH stand...
I’ve played acoustic kits for decades, and electronic kits going on 10 years now. I find a good old CY12H with a decent controller plays just as well. It’s the player, not the gear. Although, I suppose application matters too.
For me, a drummer in a new wave tribute, I don’t need whatever edge a VH11 would provide, nor do I need the extra lug of the stand. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hi! Thank you for the video! I'm from Brazil and I love your channel! I need some help. I just bought this controller and I have a problem. I have a TD11KV. When I use the controller with the sounds of the module I have a great performance. But when I use EZDRUMMER 2, I realize that the half-open sound of the hi-hat sounds bad, as if EZDRUMMER 2 was not able to reproduce all the sounds of the hi-hat despite i having great hardware. I connect the module on my Macbook Pro via USB cable to use EZDRUMMER 2 via MIDI. All the other parts of the drums work perfectly, without lag, including the original Hi hat CY-5. But when I use EZDRUMMER with this controller I have problems. What could be happening? Thank you very much! Your channel helps me a lot!

Quick Question. If my hi hat hardware is too big for the hole of my roland CY-13r OR CY-12c, Can I just make the hole bigger using a drill? It doesn't look like there are sensors in that hole and it seems it's just used to put it on the regular stand. The hole just needs to be about 1-2mm bigger. Not that much drilling will be happening

QUESTION: If I use a Yamaha PCY100 10" 3 Zone Cymbal Pad (which is more of an uneven half cymbal, than a full round circle cymbal) Will it still work just the same? or will it be tilted while at rest and tilted while playing?
I've noticed that other drumsets use that exact same cymbal as a hi hat but while stuck in place on a mount so it doesn't jiggle, never on a hi hat pedal. Which is why I'm curious. I really enjoy using that cymbal as a hi hat pedal in stores, and would love to buy one for this. Thanks!

I love the idea of keeping it within my budget, but before I spend the money on this project, I would like to know if alternatively it would be worth to replace the CY-5 on my TD-11 kit with a CY-12H? Would the CY-12H be better? It looks like the costs would be a little cheaper with upgrading with a CY-12H. Short of that, can you just use any Roland cymbals to replace the CY-5 as a Hi-Hat? Would I get a better feel and/or sound?

It's more a matter of cymbal size. They are all good.

so if the vh 11works with the td 6v(vdrum tips says) do you think the goedrum controller + roland cy 12c would work on a td 6v? Thanks

Mhe, I'm not sure, check the VDrums Wiki Page. They have a compatibility guide for each roland pad and module.

    • @mr.klunee4103
      @mr.klunee4103 5 ปีที่แล้ว

The FD-7 has always worked with td5 as it came with td5 drum sets. The td5 is very old so i'd really doubt the goedrum controller would work, you should look into buying a new module.

Thanks for this great idea ! I have been trying to save for a VH11 for years now , to replace the crappy hihat i have with my 2BOX set...just rubbish..never have liked it so i bought a clever little adapter box from a guy called Zourman, that allows use of the VH11 with 2box.
Will this cheaper idea also work with the Zourman adapter?
Keep posting the videos, good work !

I think so. But you'd have to find a drop clutch that is narrow enough for this purpose.
